We enjoyed our stay at the Bernerhof and would recommend it to others.
Pros:

The location was fantastic. Close to town, trails and the train station. The room was comfortable and the host was friendly. Breakfast was varied and delicious. You could order eggs prepared and special coffees. The host was friendly and helped us to make a reservation for the Gasterntal bus.

Cons:

The bathroom and shower were a little small, but most everything was great.

De locatie was echt top!
Pros:

De locatie was echt top! een mooi authentiek hotel met hele vriendelijke eigenaren en personeel. We hebben heerlijk gegeten in hun restaurant en s'morgens de dag beginnen met een goed ontbijt.
We raden dit hotel zeker aan.

Breakfast simple but very adequate

Cons:

Could have been made aware of facilities like washing machine. Wasn’t aware there was one until I heard someone ask as we were leaving

My favourite stay in Switzerland!
Pros:

Loved this stay! The owners were so kind and helpful, the room was very comfortable, quiet, and the hotel was well sound insulated (an issue I faced in other Swiss hotels). The breakfast was delicious, the restaurant was tasty (make sure to try the Plum sorbet!) and the kindness from all the staff was felt. Room even had a balcony overlooking mountain views. 5 min walk from train station, 10 min walk to Oeschinensee gondola, location couldn't be beat. The hotel itself is such a cute and lovely vibe. Highly recommend and fair pricing!

Cons:

Portions at the restaurant could have been bigger but this was the case all over Switzerland!

Pros:

Lovely place and wonderful hosts. Great breakfast and dinner. The room had a big balcony with stunning mountain views.

Cons:

The only suggestion would be to provide a fan in the room. The weather in Kandersteg wasn’t very hot, but the room could get a little stuffy.
