Impeccable service day and night by the staff, and outstanding lodging. Gym a trifle small, but with fine machines. Highly convenient location.
Friendly & welcoming with very comfortable room. The bar & restaurant had good food, excellent drinks menu and charming service.
Handy location for both my meetings and the White House. Certainly happy to come back again.
From the moment Jerusalem began checking me in until the time I checked out, my experience at the Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square was excellent.
I dined at the hotel restaurant both nights of my stay and highly recommend the mushroom risotto and the half chicken—both were genuinely memorable. The cocktail bar is top-notch, and the bartenders made the best pisco sour I’ve ever had.
Every member of the staff I encountered was extraordinarily pleasant and attentive. I was upgraded to a larger room facing the street, yet the soundproofing was so good that I never heard traffic. The blackout drapes were excellent, keeping the room dark and quiet for sleeping, and—blessedly—the thermostat actually allowed the room to cool to 65 degrees, which made for a truly comfortable night’s sleep.
Five out of five. I will absolutely stay here again.
Juan Pablo Rodriguez at the the front desk, took this hotel and elevated to the premier hotel it is. The kindness and accommodability of the staff went above and beyond your wildest expectations. It is truly a hotel that makes working with the White House and surrounding areas a breeze. You are steps away from the White House and the hotel lends itself to private meetings and Teams meetings.
This is not a luxury hotel. Sofitel should be embarrassed to have their name on this hotel. The rooms are old, dirty and our bed sagged in the middle. They never refreshed our coffee, toilet paper or water, had to call down for it. The restaurant and bar closes at 10:00 pm and there are no there options lime a gift shop to purchase food and beverage.
Lovely stay at this hotel. The staff are warm and accommodating. Elsadig and Constance at the front desk provided exceptional service. They ran a special promotion and I won a $50 food and beverage credit during my stay. They also let my friend participate and the urban few was waived during the stay. The food at the restaurants is delicious. I met Chef Kevin and he walked me through the curated menu and sent out a complimentary dish. Martha and Jose were my servers and were prompt and respectful. The happy hour has a live jazz band which provided a nice backdrop for conversation and enjoying a nice tea or drink. The Balmain products in the rooms are refreshing and soothing. The beds are super comfy and I like the red and black decor. Offers a sexy and relaxing ambiance. The gym in the building is equipped. One machine was not working but it didn’t hinder my workout and there was plenty equipment to use. If you stay during the holiday, there may be a small line for breakfast but it moves quickly and the food is worth the wait. Lastly, the proximity to the national mall makes for convenient access to tours and site seeing.
This was my second time staying at Sofitel in D.C. and its always a pleasure. The staff is always courteous, go above and beyond, and the food is delicious.
Me and my wife have spent a couple of fantastic days at Sofitel Washington.
The property is perfect, clean and close to the White House and all other places of interest that anyone may want to visit.
The staff are absolute stars especially Elsasiq and Juan pablo real stars always smiling and very helpful.
To be breif, it was an absolute pleasure and privilege spending these days at Sofitel Washington. Definitely come back!
It was a good experience staying at this hotel. The staff is welcoming and attentive. The rooms were of a decent size, and the sleep quality was terrific. The location is close to the White House and within walking distance to most DC attractions. The restaurants are top-notch, and the menus are classy.
This is the place to stay for business. Great location, great quality hotel, great sleep. This is the only place I will stay when I am in DC.
We feit wellcomed By the staff…service and beds are impecable!!!well locales, By foot to all atracciones and superb restaurants. Try the one Just in front of the door ( full of congressmen because food and old time steaks are incredible. I will be back!. Recepcionist high class!.
Customer service was fantastic as soon as we walked in the door. Jerusalem was fantastic during the check in process, and made us feel welcome. Great location and good rooms as well!
The room was beautiful with a great bed and pillows the service outstanding (yes, I get extra cold all the time - they noticed and brought me an extra blanket; nespresso coffee maker for my 3 am call); and also make the best Pisco Sour I've had in Washington DC. Had breakfast there - great coffee and service; lunch and dinners within two blocks as well as well managed board meeting there.
This hotel is perfect and in the perfect location. Only thing is, when you check out they hit you with a $38 URBAN something Fee per night.
We had a chance to stay at the Sofitel Lafayette Square during a recent trip to Washington DC. This is an excellent choice it one is interested in visiting Government buildings and museums. Just minutes from the White House and many good restaurants and attractions.
The hotel has a very nice dinner restaurant/lounge and also a smaller restaurant for breakfast. A pool would have been nice but great service and very nice rooms make this an excellent choice in DC.
I had a wonderful stay throughout my visit.
The room was clean and well-maintained, and everything was satisfactory except for the slightly weak shower pressure. On the third day of my stay, housekeeping came by and the single sofa had been replaced— the original one had worn leather. I appreciated seeing that the property is consistently maintained.
I would also like to thank the male front desk staff member who welcomed me warmly at check-in. I was a bit flustered due to an issue with my card payment, but he was patient, polite, and very kind. Thanks to him, my first impression of Washington was wonderful.
The location was excellent—close to everything yet on a quiet street, making it easy to rest.
And housekeeping starts around 9 a.m., so guests who plan to get ready later may want to hang the “Do Not Disturb” sign in advance.
If I return to Washington, I would gladly stay here again.
My stay was lovely, albeit very quick for a business trip. The hotel staff was incredibly accommodating and kind during my time spent. Very walkable to many restaurants and to tourist attractions.
We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Perfect location, beautiful rooms and delicious breakfasts.
I was the meeting planner for our recent conference at the Sofitel hotel. Though we have had our meeting at your location in the past, this experience prompted me to contact you. Your staff overall was extremely nice and helpful. I received MANY comments about how impressed our members were with the hotel personnel. It made our meeting so much easier and more pleasant and made us want to return.
I wanted to commend one person in particular. Sondra Lopez was our point person for breakfast, breaks and dinners during our meeting. She was well past outstanding. This amazing lady was so eager to please, extraordinarily helpful and went “above and beyond”. . She was attentive the ENTIRE time, asking if we needed anything, saying yes to everything and seamlessly making any changes/special needs that were requested. I truly can not say enough about Sondra. She is a very special and valuable worker and I would love to have someone like her working in my business. She is a true asset to your hotel and a fantastic reflection on what you do at the Sofitel. I hope you will commend her on a job expertly done.
The accommodations, meeting rooms, staff and managers were absolutely FANTASTIC . Highly recommend
I booked this last minute as I was in town for a friend's birthday party. I used my Sapphire Reserve card and got a points boost. It came with a credit for $100 plus free breakfast for two. I got there very late but the man who greeted me, Yao, was amazing. He was kind, friendly and got me checked in quickly. He made me want to go back and I hadn't even seen the room! I got to my room and there was macarons waiting for me with sparkling water. What a treat! I slept well, bed was comfy and I didn't want to get up. Rain shower - yes please! I will definitely stay there again!
