Indulge your "what's it like to be royalty" fantasy for a night or two
Pros:

It's expensive but for special occasions I think worth it. They do an excellent job taking care of you and the food is excellent. Great linens, bed and pillows. The house is beautiful, of course, if a bit worn in places. Great walking on site. Close to Heathrow if that matters. You get a taste of what it must have been like to spend a weekend at a country estate in the old days.

Cons:

can't think of thing

Cliveden stay
Pros:

First class service from every staff member we encountered. All areas spotlessly clean.

Cons:

We were unable to regulate the water in the shower. Dangerously hot or freezing cold. We used the shower in the spa on our 2nd day

Beautiful period property in a stunning national trust park
Pros:

Location, staff, spa

Cons:

Some parts would benefit from maintenance. Drop age for hot tub to 16 - would allow older teens to enjoy the outdoor spa.
