Good location
Conveniently located in Altstadt across from main train station. Staff welcoming. Had an issue with first room in that there seemed to be a significant amount of mold in the tile grout of the shower. Staff switched our room however next room had mold as well though not as much. Staff said they were aware of the issue and were addressing it. Does not seem to be ventalation in the bathroom which would help with moisture. AC wasn't quite giving out the cool air and vents could use a good clean. Elevator could use daily wipe down. Same dirt streaks on the walls were there for five days. Overall, hotel could use a freshning up.
Was everything fine
The hotel was undergoing
Good hotel, good location...close to railway station. Lot's of restaurant nearby. Short walk to old town. Room was nice AC was cood.. bathroom needs little makeover. Big plus to location.
An amazing stay. Right in the centre of the most alive area in the old town. Great restaurants right below. Staff was super accommodating and made sure we had an excellent experience. One of my best hotel experiences ever.
Great location in a comfortable, slightly worn room.
Stay was excellent, staff courteous and helpful! Breakfast was included and well done.
We have stayed the previously and the rooms were definitely cleaner before. We will not stay there for future visits. Location is great but the rooms lack space and they need to be cleaned. So disappointed for the price we paid.
Staff went above and beyond! And the accommodations were great. Is definitely stay again!
After leaving this morning and having time to contemplate what the difference was between a hotel rated 8.4 (the Ibis Nuernberg Altstadt) and a hotel that I just checked into in Prague and I decided it was night and day. This hotel I’m in now was rated 9.2 when I reserved it and based solely on presentation, it far exceeds the Ibis Nuernberg Alstadt. There are far too many observations to detail them other than to say a 5.0 would be a better rating based solely on the location. I was disappointed in every facet but that. Lastly, you may want to notify guests when renovations are going to be undertaken so that another choice could be made.
I have already been several times at this hotel. It's location is excellent, clean, fair breakfast. The only thing I don't like are the pillows. They could either be thicker or two instead of one. Otherwise all was good.
Convenient location, clean room, comfortable bed.
Woken up at 07:40 by the sound of workmen drilling the connecting wall to my room.
I appreciate that renovations are always necessary but do not think this hotel should expect guests to sleep with their walls being drilled. Maybe renovate o floor at a time, or at least keep a room empty on either side of that being renovated for the comfort of guests!
This is a hotel in an excellent location - almost directly across the street from the main train station and at the entrance to the old town. The staff is helpful and friendly and the rooms are of a good size at a reasonable price. The breakfast buffet is excellent with a nice variety of items to choose from. I had a great stay here
This hotel has some pros and cons. Big pro is the location, right at the top of the Altstadt and easily accessible from the railway station, however my room looked out over Konigstrasse and it was VERY noisy every night with people walking by, restaurant downstairs. Unfortunately I couldn't be moved, so it was earplugs for me for the stay which definitely helped.
The room is fairly generous for a Nuremberg hotel in size as is the bathroom, shower has fantastic pressure. If you like hand towels and face washers, bring your own because they are not supplied.
Unlike another reviewer, the bed is so uncomfortable it was nearly unbearable, it was a 2 inch pad on top of a bed base, so not even a real mattress, it was awful for me, but if you like a hard mattress, you'll be OK. Heating in my room didn't seem to be adjustable at night, so was quite warm during the night.
I would have expected a few basics in the room such as bottled water, tissues and a small room safe. If you have anything you need to lock up, reception can help.
The staff were helpful, and provided me hot water for tea some nights as there is no facilities to do this.
Hotel is having a major renovation next month, so maybe a few of these issues will be addressed.
Hotel location, people are very good.
1st floor is very noisy at friday - saturday and there was smell coming from toilet
For the level of the hotel it was quite good.
The location is good, the staff is friendly and competent. The room is quiet, the bed is large and good, the bathroom is small, but adequat. The most important german TV programs are not available. The breakfast is fine with some varity.
We had booked a two-night stay at this hotel in December and were allocated the last available double room. As this was on the top floor, it has a slanted ceiling, which means that if you are tall, you cannot walk into the room without either banging your head or ducking. While it is a large room, the layout of the room is impacted by the slanted ceiling, so it means the double bed is squeezed in somewhat and you can't really get in or out of the bed comfortably as there isn't a lot of space between the bed and the wall. The reception staff were very helpful but not able to move us as the hotel was fully booked, but we were able to move into a different room for the second night. The reason for our poor review is the response from the hotel management. It's not really fair to guests to rent out this particular room at the full rate, so we emailed the hotel manager on the first night of our stay to explain the situation and to ask for a partial refund for the first night. After not receiving a response for over a week, we emailed again in early January, but it wasn't until emailing for a third time and this time copying in the Accor customer service that we received a response more than three weeks after our initial email with the excuse that the hotel manager had been on leave (didn't receive an out of office response). We were told that they are unable to provide a partial refund because the slanted ceiling does not legally represent a deficiency and can therefore not be considered as impacting the use of the room, but for the inconvenience it has caused during our first stay we were offered some bonus points. It's no coincidence that this is the last room they allocate when the hotel is fully booked, and it is inappropriate to charge the full room rate for it. Will not be staying there again based on the disappointing way this was dealt with by the hotel management.
