Hotel ibis Strasbourg Centre Halles

Great location. Walkable to station and all shops. Staff very helpful and forgiving of my terrible attempt at French! Super kind and friendly. Room was clean and light and airy. Only gripe would be that it would be great to have a kettle in the room. Breakfast tasty and attached restaurant lovely with delicious food and great service.

Great location and service

My stay at the Hotel ibis Strasbourg Centre Halles started off on a rather turbulent note. Upon arrival, I was greeted with the sentence: «You're already checked in». Naturally, this could not have been the case. It turned out that a guest with a similar name had mistakenly been assigned my room.

Instead of calmly resolving the issue, the situation escalated: more and more staff gathered behind the already cramped reception desk – four in total. For about 15 minutes, I had to listen to internal discussions that could have taken place behind the scenes. A simple gesture, such as offering a welcome drink or a seat while resolving the matter discreetly, would have been appropriate and appreciated.

Eventually, the staff settled on the obvious solution: I received a new room in the same category, and the guest who had been checked in by mistake had to re-enter their details. The resolution itself was fine, but it took far too long, the apology felt insincere, and no courtesy was offered to make up for the inconvenience.

That said, the rest of the stay was perfectly fine. The room was clean and quiet, and the location is excellent. Had the check-in been handled more professionally, my impression would have been significantly better.

Guten Unterkunft ziemlich nahe am Zentrum. Alles ist fußläufig erreichbar.
Es ist alles sehr sauber, das Personal ist freundlich und die Auswahl am Frühstücksbuffet vielfältig.
Einziger Kritikpunkt: Das Zimmer hätte etwas größer sein können.

Ein Grund für die Buchung dieses Hotels war die Zimmerbeschreibung bei Expedia „Blick auf das Wasser“. Dieser existierte nicht, das war die erste Enttäuschung. Absolut nervig ist der Umgang mit Handtüchern, es gab genau 1 Dusch-Handtuch, kein Handtuch für die Hände oder zum Gesicht abtrocknen. Am ersten Tag haben wir beim housekeeping gefragt und noch ein zweites Handtuch bekommen, das war am nächsten Tag wieder verschwunden. Obwohl ja angeblich wegen der Umwelt nur Handtücher die am Boden liegen für die Reinigung mitgenommen werden. Sehr mühsam. Dafür ist die Lage absolut perfekt, zu Fuss alles super erreichbar.

Ich kenne IBIS seit Jahren… der Low key standard bleibt… aber die Preise steigen stetig. Für mich stimmt das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis nicht mehr.

Le novotel et l ibis ne dispose pas d un exterieur pour les fumeurs. On doit sortir dans la rue ce qui pourrait etre dangereux passerune certaines heure.

Average hotel with average service. The room was basic with a nice bed. It was quiet and you can make it dark, so you could get a nice sleep there. Double room was ok for one person, but with two persons it would have been a bit too tight. No water kettle or a fridge, but you could get some boiled water from the restaurant downstairs.
The breakfast was just very basic, nothing green. The cutlery was also dirty, so felt a little awkward to eat.

Friendly and welcoming staff. Hotel is in a great location and rooms are clean and updated. We stayed here over the holiday and had a fabulous experience. The rooms have USB outlets so if you forgot your converters you are okay. Breakfast was also good. Hotel is connected to the mall for easy access to shopping and other amenities. I recommend this place!

Hôtel is well located. Worked well for visiting the Christmas markets. Our room was very small. It was hard to move around the bed. Bed had one flat pillow on each side, one towel, and only shampoo. Not sure if this chain is pretty basic, but just know that is what you’ll get, the bare minimum.
Breakfast is good and well stocked. It does cost extra each day you go. If your expectations are properly set, and you don’t mind the grievances listed above, you’ll be fine.

The hotel is walkable to the city main area, clean and breakfast is great and has many variety. The staff weren’t that friendly! We arrived early so the rooms weren’t ready, we had to wait for the room to get ready! During that time, the washroom wasn’t accessible unless you buy something from the bar!!!
The rooms are very small as well and has no room for our bags.

2 women in my room and only 2 towels given to us. Unacceptable. Same things w pillows. We each got one. Very bare bone basics. For over $300, we should get at least 4 towels and 4 pillows

While I understand that the size of rooms in Europe are small, this would be considered mini. No hot water kettle or coffee. Not even in the lobby unless you go to the restaurant. Location was probably the best thing about this hotel. Easy walk to the train station and easy walk to just about anything you want to see and the city center. I caution you about getting a room on the first floor at the end of the hall. If there’s anything going on in the restaurant/bar below, you will hear everything and won’t sleep much.
