Holiday Inn London–Shepperton by IHG has always been our family’s most favourite hotel in the UK. Whenever my son’s school term break or a long holiday begins, this is the first place we want to come to refresh ourselves and truly enjoy some chill family time.

During this Christmas and New Year season, we enjoyed two unforgettable and amazing stays here (22nd–23rd December 2025 & 2nd–3rd January 2025), and once again, the hotel exceeded our expectations.

Our wonderful experience began at reception. When we discovered that something in our room was not working properly, the amiable and professional receptionist Ms. Tea approached our room immediately. She showed us the utmost care and concern and helped us exchange for a much more comfortable and convenient room, especially suitable for my only son. As the kids’ swimming time was set until 7:00 p.m., Tea kindly suggested that we go swimming first and return to reception later to collect the new room keys. Thanks to her thoughtful arrangement, we had more than enough time to fully enjoy the excellent swimming pool, Jacuzzi, dry sauna, and wet steam room. It truly helped both adults and kids to relax and chill completely.

After our swimming session, we were very hungry. At that moment, Restaurant Manager Mr. Nadeem approached us and brought my son some board games and painting sheets. My son was extremely excited, especially because Nadeem remembered him. His warm and thoughtful gesture made us feel very close and cheerful, even while waiting for our meal. At the end of dinner, he kindly provided a takeaway box so we could bring our delicious food back to the room. He also had a friendly chat with us and encouraged my son to do well in his studies, sharing that his wife is a marvelous primary school teacher. These small but sincere interactions truly touched our hearts.

Additionally, we followed sightseeing recommendations from other hotel staff and visited nearby attractions, which made our journey even more perfect and memorable.

Once again, Holiday Inn London–Shepperton made us feel welcomed, cared for, and valued as a family. This hotel is not just a place to stay—it feels like a second home for us.

We staged a 60th birthday party in the Storybook suite at the hotel. Planning was smooth and efficient with arrangements made by Emma and nothing was too much trouble on the night. The room was perfect, the food excellent and the bar service kept the drinks flowing and the party in full swing. Special praise must go to Neeraj and John who were delightfully helpful all evening. The party was a massive success and they certainly played their part.

We have stayed at this hotel several times as it's well located and convenient for visiting family. However the standard has declined. Ridiculous to now be asked to pay £8 per night to use the carpark. Breakfast service poor - on each of the 2 mornings so far the pastries etc have not been replenished with more than an hour left of breakfast service. The evening food is dreadful. Overpriced and tasteless. Our son's meal was served 15 minutes before ours meaning that he had finished eating before we had the opportunity to begin. This evening we ordered a couple of snacks - again the timing of these was not at all well coordinated - chips and onion ring sides arrived 20 minutes before the cheese toasties. The lasagne on the first evening was like plastic. The cheese toasties were barely edible - plastic textured tasteless cheese within bread so hard it was almost impossible to bite through. Drinks at the bar are very expensive even for this area. This morning the housekeeping team arrived whilst we were still in the room so we declined, expecting that they would return later. They didn't. We had left towels on the floor as they needed changing so then had to pick them up and make do. To be honest, have lost the energy to complain/draw attention to the problems.

We had a great time. The hotel was lovely and clean and all the staff were lovely and went above and beyond. The food was really nice and great value for money. Neeraj looked after us and he was wonderful!

Restaurant coped admirably with 8 adults and 4 children. Diverse requests and boisterous children. Very gracious service from Neeraj. Last night was my 72nd night in a Holiday Inn this year, but my 1st time in Holiday Inn Shepperton. It had the best service of any London Holiday Inn (I know its slightly outside London, but it still counts in my mind). It was also one of the best Holiday Inn breakfasts.

I recently held a birthday party here and couldn’t have been happier. Every member of staff we encountered were absolutely outstanding, before, during and after the event, going above and beyond at every stage to ensure all ran smoothly and everything was exactly how I had wanted it. The venue itself was beautiful, the food delicious and plentiful, and very well received by all our guests. The accommodation was spotless, extremely spacious, very comfortable and a great price. Breakfast the following morning was really good. Overall, they exceeded expectations in every way, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it for events or a stay.

Service through our hotel had been excellent! Especially at breakfast Alison could not be anymore helpful and everyday has a smile on her face.

In the evening the bar staff are always on point Phoebe, Lily, Saleem, Freddie. Thanks for looking after me the last few weeks.

A Great Birthday Getaway at the Hilton Shepperton (9/10)
​From the 21st to the 24th of November, four of us rocked up to the Hilton Shepperton to celebrate my bestie's big 65th birthday, and what a splendid time we had. We were thoroughly impressed, though we did encounter a few little quirks along the way.
​✨ The Good Bits (The Champagne Flutes)
​The Unsung Heroine (Celine): Right from the off, we were greeted by Celine on reception. Honestly, she was an absolute gem. From the moment we arrived until the minute we checked out, she went above and beyond—a proper testament to top-notch customer service. When we complained that our rooms were cold and that one of our windows would not close. Celine immediately sent housekeeing up to fix the window and supplied us all with an extra duvet each. This helped to make our stay truly memorable.
​Restaurant Staff Grit: The staff in the restaurant were clearly run ragged and, frankly, looked a tad under-staffed. However, in true British spirit, they never let the stress show! Their politeness and service levels were outstanding.
​The Shining Star (Julie-Emma): One member of the restaurant team deserves a special mention: Julie-Emma. She was brilliant—polite, efficient, full of helpful information, and delightfully entertaining. She was absolutely flat-out working but still managed to be accommodating and charming. A true professional!
​The Grub: On the whole, the food was spot on. The breakfast offered a decent variety of bits and bobs to set one up for the day. (Though, if I could petition for anything, it would be a substantial increase in the supply of those magnificent raisin Danish pastries—get them ordered, chaps! 😉)
With 3 of us being grandmothers it was great to see how child friendly the hotel was. It had a small inside play area which kept young ones entertained.
​💨 The Bad Bits (The Minor Niggles)
​The Pork Predicament: While breakfast was lovely, it’s a shame the hot offerings are so focused on pork (bacon and sausages). For those of us who eat meat but steer clear of the pig, options become rather limited. A bit of turkey bacon or some beef/chicken sausages would make a huge difference and prevent a bit of a breakfast palaver!
On our last night and sandwich which came under the "Hot sandwich category " was served cold! We were told that the hot aspect of the sandwich was that it was served with fries. This was not made clear on the menu. Our server did however take it away and asked the kitchen to remake the sandwich with toasted bread which was greatly appreciated.
​The Pool and Spa Faff: We were a tad gutted that the spa and pool were out of action due to renovations. While it didn't completely ruin our enjoyment (we're resourceful, after all), it was a shame we couldn't take a proper relaxing dip.
​The Dark Road Drama: Just a fair warning for anyone planning a visit: you absolutely need wheels. The road leading up to the hotel is dreadfully lit and certainly not for a leisurely stroll in the evening. Don't let it put you off, but driving is essential—it’s not exactly pedestrian-friendly!
​🎯 Summary
​Despite the swimming pool being shut ( This should have been indicated on the website) and the restaurant team being run off their feet (they handled it like absolute troopers, mind you), we had a cracking time celebrating. The exceptional service from Celine and Julie-Emma transformed the stay from merely good to truly fantastic.
​We would absolutely stay at the Hilton Shepperton again and thoroughly recommend it.

My stay at the Holiday Inn Shepparton was made exceptional thanks to the outstanding service from reception staff member Tea. From the moment I arrived, Tea greeted me with genuine warmth, professionalism, and efficiency. She went above and beyond to make check-in smooth, offered helpful local recommendations, and ensured every detail of my stay felt effortless.

It’s rare to come across someone who elevates the entire guest experience, but Tea truly sets the standard. Her customer service alone makes this hotel an easy choice, and I look forward to returning. Highly recommended.

Amazing place not bad has a small gym with sauna and steam room. Staff are quite helpful and good. Close to a lot of attractive places For children like Legoland etc

Eighty-five of us started the evening in the beautifully decorated Storyboard bar area with a glass or two chilled Prosecco and very tasty canapés. Some wanted something different and the fully stocked bar staff were there to set the mood right.

Then they proceeded into the perfect Christmassy setting of the magnificent banquet hall where a delicious three-course festive meal was served. Very impressive service from the two chefs, kitchen and serving staff. The hotel GM and a few senior managers were also at hand to support where help was needed for a smoother run of the service. All the meals were served to each table on time, hot and together. Which is very rare at larger gatherings.

The hotel recommended DJ kept us rocking until the early hours with a great selection of music.

Fair to mention the two waiting staff – Laura and Barbara, who went out of their way to attend to special requests from a few guests.

Importantly, two security personnel were present right throughout the evening to ensure the safety of the guests coming from and to the large car park within the well-lit hotel grounds. Not forgetting we had free parking too.

Stayed here for 2 night trip to access central London . Very comfortable & spotless. The food in the restaurant was good. Julie the waitress in the restaurant was great & looked after the customers.

The staff at Reception, helping carry bags to the room and at Breakfast were all brilliant. Attentive, friendly, helpful, engaging, accommodating and professional. Even checking in late in the evening because of attending an event at Sandown Park …Reception Staff were on hand.
