We stayed for 2 nights prior to joining a cruise in Southampton. The room was lovely and the food in Alfred's was excellent and reasonably priced. Kinga gave a wonderful and very professional massage.
The hotel is a bit of a warren of corridors and parking arrangements are a little strange otherwise it would be 5*
The room was spacious, comfortable and welcoming. The bed is super comfortable. Nothing to complain about.
The location was great as it was close to the town centre.
An open Bay Area and it was quiet.
There was a very strong smell of chemicals in our room. An air wick was plugged in which did not address the issue. The receptionist didn’t ask if we wanted to set up our bill such that we could charge items to our room and then pay in full on checking out. This was lax, irritating and a waste of our time .
Good parking. Friendly good staff
Nothing
Well situated , pleasant staff excellent restaurant
Wine expensive
The Mrs bought us a spa day (which included) full use of the spa facilities & gym for the entire day, an afternoon tea + massage... really good price compared to other spas.
The staff were lovely, premises was clean and rooms well-appointed.
We have nothing negative to say😊
My massage therapist (Kinga) was fantastic! Sorted my shoulder pain which was a nice addition to the day.
Thank you to all the staff!
The hotel was really nice and located central to visit all the historic sites.
We had a great rest as room was very comfortable.
I wish the spa was open until later to be able use after dinner.
The carpark wasn’t incl to the room as I thought although it was good to have a car park space.
The choices of non alcoholic beers were rather poor but it was a nice atmosphere in the bar & restaurant .
The room was large.
The room was clean.
The entrance seemed large and was attractive in its decor.
The bar area looked nice.
There was lots of parking although you did have to pay for this parking.
We had a good room. it was ok. We stayed and the bed was comfortable. Our room which was on the first floor had a shower that didnt have any instruction on the dials was boiling hot. We had no way of understanding how to work this and by the time we had attempted to play with this we had a call from the room to ask why we hadn't checked out on time (at this point we were both un-showered and had agreed we would shower in the spa facilities. We explained our annoyance to the reception and they instantly explained that the first floor rooms have a different way of using the shower. How very frustrating that our floor had an odd way to use the dials for different things and not telling us this. As we went to leave the room we were greeted with the assistant manager being extremely aggressive about us leaving the room with 5 men stood with her ensuring we were leaving the room at 11.20 (20 minutes late...) we argued about what had happened and she was extremely rude and abrupt. it was extremely intimidating for her to be stood there with 5 workers (all men) and not acceptable. we then went o reception, un-showered and demanded to talk to the manager. His reaction was calm and he went and checked the shower and came back down and confirmed our problems were true. He asked how he could help us and we just said we were going to leave.
this was intimidating and the assistant manager stood with her arms folded throughout the whole chat with the manager. I asked if she could leave as she had already attempted to intimidate us and she wouldnt leave. I am shocked about her and this is not acceptable.
Very close to city centre. Everything is walkable. Friendly staff. Great room and double lock protection felt safe.
Sauna was often very busy and steam room out of use all weak.

All good
Location. Interior decor. Spa facilities.Parking facilities-at a price

Location
Room again..
Still dark. Poor windows and dingy wallpaper.
- Great value for money
- Good size room
- Friendly staff
- Great breakfast
- Decent wifi
- Secure parking
- Shocking that a 4* hotel couldn't provide a shower with a steady flow & temperature.
- Standing lamp not working.
- Pillows too soft.
Good sized rooms with decent bed. Facilities available should you need them.
The air con unit in my room (138) was not working. and there was a low frequency hum emanating from what I assume was the fridge that was annoying. Secondly and more importantly.
I had 2 guests for evening dinner, we ordered starters and mains & a sharing platter, starters were fine, but the sharing platter was served at the same time as the starter, it should have been out first as a 'while you wait' The main meals, 2 steaks were only luke warm when served up, and the plates were also cold. I did raise this to the server who offered to take the steaks back but we declined, as this would have delayed us further. The server also failed to remove wine glasses which were not required. The breakfast was also only luke warm, at 7.30 when it should be piping hot. Having dined here before I expected better! I also have a PHEV, there was only 1 operational charger to use which was occupied.
