I’m still here as I write this and checking out tomorrow, but I already know that Cobblers Cove completely saved our trip.
After a stressful start at another property, arriving here felt like exhaling. The vibe is immaculate from the moment you walk in. Everything is incredibly aesthetic, from the rooms to the common spaces to even the staff uniforms. Every corner is beautiful and thoughtfully designed, with the pink umbrellas, lush landscaping, and lovely interiors making it feel like being inside a Slim Aarons photo (look him up!).
The room is lovely and has been such a comfortable place to come back to each day. The beach is fantastic, calm and beautiful, and one of my favorite parts of the stay. Breakfast each morning has been excellent, and throughout the day they bring around thoughtful touches like fruit, cold water, and sorbet, which makes the whole experience feel extra special.
The bartenders and every staff member I’ve met have been genuinely friendly and warm, and there is entertainment in the evenings that adds to the atmosphere without making it feel busy or overwhelming.
One thing to note is that the guest crowd does skew a bit older and it is not the most diverse space outside of the staff, but the property itself is absolutely stunning and the service has been wonderful.
Cobblers Cove has truly turned this trip around for us, and I’m so grateful we made the move. I’ve been to many hotels around the Caribbean and this has risen to one of my favorites.
Cobblers Cove incorporated everything for a perfect holiday. A small hotel with 44 suites, next to the sea with welcoming, hospitable staff who could not have been more helpful and friendly. My suite gave me a spacious bedroom with an adapted bathroom, a lounge and kitchenette with a fridge and where I could heat coffee/tea and eat breakfast. Outside there were comfortable chairs and loungers on my own terrace. There was also no television or radio in the suite - lots of books so no unwanted noise.
The food was delicious and everything was cooked in their kitchen. The restaurant was next to the sea so sitting there, eating freshly caught fish, was idyllic.
The gardens were well kept with beautiful, vivid flowers.
The hotel was also able to organise a personal driver for me to take me for tours around the island which followed my interests.
I have already booked my next stay there in January 2027!
Brilliant room great staff going back next year
Beautiful resort with cottages. Amazing gardens. Excellent staff. On the beach. We used a rental from the airport and for restaurants off property. We were given great recommendations during our stay.
We stayed at Cobblers Cove for four days after a cruise around the eastern Caribbean. We had an ocean view room which was spacious with a lovely veranda. The grounds are immaculate and beautifully maintained. It’s a real tropical paradise.
With only one exception, the staff are all fantastic. Very friendly, warm and helpful. I would give a special mention to the ladies in the restaurant who are all amazing and cannot do enough to ensure that everyone has a wonderful dining experience. Breakfast is superb (a mix of self-service and served) with wonderful choices - best omelette ever and the home made pastries melt in the mouth; lunch is brilliant (trying the gazpacho is recommended) and there’s an excellent selection at dinner. Did I mention the afternoon tea? A wonderful touch.
The sun beds are plentiful and very comfortable.
Our one regret is that we only stayed at Cobblers Cove for four nights. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and cannot wait to return - hopefully in the not too distant future.
Intimate and charming
Lack of beach to walk on
Leaving
No beach, rooms very dark, damp smell, no atmosphere at all at the hotel. Felt like we were staying at a retirement home. Swimming pool was dirty, tiles need a good clean. Over priced. Food average. Room service menu very limited.
Beautiful hotel in lush gardens sitting right on the beach. Easy walk along the beach into Speightown. Friendly staff, tasty food, very comfortable and attractive accomodation
Although the comfortable, homely, and relaxed atmosphere at Cobblers Cove may not suit everyone, the fact that this wonderful peace of paradise has the highest client retention of all hotels in Barbados speaks for itself. The guests are treated with courtesy and respect by staff who know them by name, and this is reciprocated. Fabulous gardens and wildlife, stunning beaches within a few metres, great food and a classic style which is in stark contrast to the “carbon copy” resorts so commonplace in the Caribbean. Which is why loyal and discerning guests choose to return time and time again. Life long friendships are made here with so many repeat customers. We have already booked for next year - Faultless.
Our 6th fabulous holiday at Cobblers Cove. It is the most beautiful colonial styled hotel. Delicious cuisine and the dining area enjoys the most wonderful ambiance overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The staff are wonderful. Big thanks to Dee, Damien, Alia and Issan in the dining room, and massive Thankyou to Gregory, Damien and Ricky who looked after us during the day. In the evening we mustn’t forget Mathew in the cocktail bar and Pearson who prepared the wonderful cocktails. In addition we must express our thanks to Kimberley and Stacey, the wonderful ladies on the front desk. Much gratitude to Cobbler’s Cove for employing such amazing staff, they really do make the holiday
First the positives. A tranquil setting right next to beautiful sea green water and lush, well attended gardens and quaint colonial style buildings.
The rooms need a lot of attention taking shabby chic to the extreme. If you like a tired, comfortable look then this is for you. No tv’s but plenty of road noise at the rear in some rooms.
The mini bar not re-stocked either.
Breakfast is mediocre at best served with a shrug and a bit of an attitude. It’s hard to get breakfast wrong.
One of the main bug bears is the hogging of the same sunloungers by a cabal of guests who have the same loungers every day reserved early but left for two to three hours until they deigned to use them. In the paperwork it says the hotel does not slow this but clearly they turn a blind eye. It’s not the 1970’s anymore. The sun loungers clearly had not had the towelling liners changed in sometime as they were all stained. The parasols are covered in mildew which is easy to remove with a jet wash. This is pure laziness. They even leave an umbrella in the corner which is broken and unused. The sea wall is covered in dirt which could be easily washed down. The walls to the sea steps were broken and filthy. The lanterns lighting the walls were filthy also. How much time would it take for the pool guys to wash them down in the morning.
Drinks usually have to be asked for which is unusual for hotels along the West Coast. I am not surprised the staff are disaffected as they say they haven’t received tips for at least 7 months but this is only what they say. If this is true this would be disgraceful of the owners to profit from guests generosity. Having stayed in most of them things by far the worst on the island.
This grand old dame needs resuscitation and fast! Whilst it clearly suits many people of a certain generation of a make do and mend attitude it’s not good enough to charge 5 star prices and offer a 3 star service and experience.
This hotel is ‘Cobblers’!
Dreadful food served by disinterested staff . Avoid the overpriced Tuesday barbacue . No selection. Grilled good cold and overcooked .
This was our second visit to Cobblers Cove. Our opinion is unchanged. This is a beautiful hotel with standards. The staff are friendly and more than happy to help. I read on a virgin Atlantic review giving 1*. Not sure if they were at the same hotel as we were. Check in is efficient and swift. The rooms are well appointed and I gather will have minor work done over the year. Pool area is clean and there are plenty of sunbeds. We witnessed less bed hogging this year and they appear to be managing them well.
BBQ Tuesday is a good night. Breakfast is more than adequate although not a large selection of pastries. Cocktails are very good, pool food tasty and the restaurant offers a good evening meal menu. Be aware that there are no beach sunbeds. I heard a new arrival moan that there were no beach beds. Get a towel and go on the 🏖️. We would definitely recommend and stay again.
Went based on a recommendation by a relative. Went for 2 nights before our cruise.
Beautiful boutique hotel etc can’t fault it. It is the most expensive hotel I have ever stayed in. £1200 per night. We were told after one night that we would have to change rooms for our second night , since when was this a thing ? I have never experienced this before at much cheaper hotels and am absolutely disgusted at this with the price they charge. I expect to book two nights in the same room. The upheaval of moving in on day 1, moving the next day and then moving again for a cruise at £1200 a night is completely unacceptable.
NO I would not stay again for this. If I am paying those prices I expect perfection.
Beautifully designed, an elegant boutique hotel. Extremely clean. Location is excellent.
Self parking is limited and quite challenging.
The hotel was in a great location, walkable to Speightstown, very clean hotel with beautiful decor. Rooms where a great size with separate seating are and kitchenette. Restaurant served fantastic choice of breakfast. Bar and pool area was superb. Staff went out of their way to assist you. Would definitely recommend

We stayed at Cobblers Cove for 10 nights in January celebrating my husbands "special" birthday. The hotel lived up to my expectations in terms of a small " boutique" hotel with a quirky colonial style and beautiful gardens. We stayed in an Upper Circle suite which was spacious, well equipped and kept immaculate every day and evening by our housekeeper.
Unfortunately, we had to move rooms after two nights as the traffic noise from the busy road outside began at 5am and was impossible to sleep through.
After some discussion with the reservation team we were moved to a much quieter room away from the road.
We enjoyed the breakfast every morning. Fresh fruit, pastries etc.buffet style and a la carte choices. However, service can be slow at popular times.
We dined at the hotel twice, once at the Tuesday Bbq which was very good value.
The hotel restaurant costs are on par with some of the best restaurants in the area.
The hotel is in a lovely position set on a beautiful stretch of beach. The sunbeds around the deck and pool area are very comfortable and there are plenty. Unfortunately, service around the patio area leaves a lot to be desired. We found we had to ask for mattress covers to be changed and we never saw the tiled areas being cleaned or swept despite being early risers. However the small pool is taken care of each day.
We had to check out of our room at 12 but were assured a room would be available for us to shower and change before our flight. When we were shown to the "changing room" there were no towels or hairdryer provided. We had to chase around for them meaning we were a little late for our airport transfer.
I suggest, you book a "changing room" with plenty of time to spare before your pick up.
In summary, we had a lovely holiday but I'm not sure we would return as I feel the considerable cost is not reflected in the facilities or service provided.
We have now been to Cobblers Cove twice as we loved the setting and wanted to give it a second chance 2 years later.
It is without doubt the worst customer service we have ever received. The staff are beyond rude and unhelpful and we will never go back!
We had heard this from other friends and family members on multiple occassions too, hence the 2 year wait to go back.
Absolutely astounding its allowed to run like that!
The main restaurant/bar area decor, food and gardens
Having built several gyms, the equipment needs updating and harmonising. Rower machine didn’t even have working screen. Area for gym was lovely but perhaps an area for pulls/dips and a better rack for the free weights which is too high and dangerous for fingers when weights put back.
The rooms were also iow to the outside with slats which let all the mosquitos in
