Good location. Functional. Quite expensive for what it was. Internet patchy. Breakfast not great. Put right near the lift
Breakfast. WiFi. Beds
Quite good facilities in terms of gym and pool access. Bed was nice.
Breakfast was a little scarce, could use a little bit more fibre. Typical to any hotel, water pressure and heat turned suboptimal during peak use hours.
Reception and bar area and breakfast facilities were great and staff very friendly. The whole accommodation was really nice and surrounding area was nice too. There are few bars in front of the Plaza so all walking distance if you want change of scenery. They also have nice sitting area outside
Room was nice and spacious except the fact that we were just around loading bay area and deliveries that were starting at round 6am woke us up. So perhaps that was the only down thing
Everything there is to like
Good breakfast but juices were not fresh, from packets
Meal choices, no halal and limited veg option
Had to go out each evening to local restaurants
Very trendy that’s about it
We had two single beds pushed together and that’s not acceptable for a couple who book a double room expecting a double bed not to mention they kept on sliding apart and our room was sharing a wall with the lift so we heard motor noises all night long
Thank you to all who helped make our first stay at Crowne Plaza Solihull such a wonderful experience . From the outset , the welcome and service at reception was excellent . The rooms were modern , spacious and inviting and we had a fabulous nights sleep appreciating the premium bedding . We had our two year old grandson with us and all staff were so friendly and kind to him. We are so impressed with all staff we had contact with. Breakfast was delicious and wide-ranging in choice. We then had coffee on the terrace with a beautiful lakeside view . Idyllic . We really look forward to our next visit :)
Lovely spacious room with access to the shared large balcony with a huge chess set that the kids enjoyed. Beautiful bathroom with twin sinks and very clean. Breakfast has an excellent range to enjoy.
Could have done with a few more pillows on such a large bed but I likely could have asked for some and they would have been provided. Shower isn’t very powerful so takes a while to rinse hair out.
Breakfast was good.
The curtain in the required us to stand on the settee to close it properly - it wasn't hung correctly in the first place - being a ceiling to floor it should have had a pull cord for opening and closing!
Spotlessly clean, really comfortable and good facilities and the staff were all friendly and attentive.
Nothing worthy of comment
I emailed in advance requesting early check in and late check out. I was advised the early check in would be prioritised but not guaranteed (which is standard as it is subject to availability) but my late check out was confirmed in advance. We arrived early with the plan to sit in the bar area as we arrived about 12pm but we were surprised to find our room was ready.
The room was amazing, it was large and modern with good air con and a big bathroom. There was a door to an outdoor area that we loved.
As it was our anniversary stay I asked if anything could be added to the room (sometimes there is a paid for service). To my surprise the hotel added on breakfast for us and left us some biscuits in the room as a gift.
Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had at a hotel and it was all fresh and well stocked. They even had multiple types of eggs available on the buffet such as scrambled, poached and fried.
The lounge had generally had a good selection of food and drinks. The food in the evening was checked regularly and topped up as required.
The only slight negative we experienced during our stay was with the lounge and it wasn’t necessarily the hotels fault. On our first night there was a good selection of drinks including Diet Coke but by the second day they had ran out and there was no stock (the member of staff did check for us which we appreciated). We noticed some guests in the lounge taking around 6 or 7 cans away in their bag but there is nothing the hotel can do to stop this really.
I will definitely be staying here again and I hope to get the same room as it was one of the best rooms I’ve stayed in.
Dreadful room right by lift that was extremely noisy. Took an hour in the middle of the night to arrange to finally get moved to a different room admirer initially being told it was the worst room they had but there were no other options
Great reception and restaurant staff
The pool is small
