Smelled terrible, smoke scent….and not the smoke of cigarettes only…

Elevators were out and the staff did not advise me before I attempted to get on one. I had to climb a flight of stairs with all of my stuff. The smoke scent was so strong that I asked to be moved….moved me to the third floor so that’s another flight of stairs with belongings….smoke scent in the room and hallway. I tried to settle in but ultimately booked with another hotel. Receptionist said I couldn’t get a refund because I was there three hours…
