Comfortable bed
Old and being renovated. Not advertised. Noisey. aircon not working in heatwave, was sitting on about 24 degrees blowing tepid air - no sheet on top and still too hot.

We chose this hotel due to its central old town location, as it was a car free zone we assumed it would be quieter.
Good
- we went for a deluxe room and it was very large and had the extras such as illy coffee and quality soaps
- location is great, short walk to 3 bridges central old town location, or go the other way to a large tivoli park. Lots of shops and food place to eat, really nice vibe
- hotel lobby and bar very nice
- staff all seemed good and helpful
- breakfast was pleasant and lots of choice
- bed and pillows were nice
Bad (and what spoilt it for us)
- there is major construction work happening in the hotel, we were never told about this and only found out on the first morning
- if you get a inner courtyard room you will overlook this and suffer from 7am for the rest of the day, construction noise and shouting
- construction noise can be heard over breakfast
- aircon is old (like alot of the furniture) and could not cool the large deluxe room, and if you open the window you have enhanced construction noise.
In my view a fairly expensive hotel like the Slon should operate a honest policy and it feels like we were deceived. They should inform guests in advance that they have construction work taking place to enable an informed decision to be made.

O sofá cama para a terceira pessoa era pessimo, grande mas desconfortável, duro, fiquei com dor nas costas, o hotel é luxuoso mas fiquei decepcionada com o desconforto do sofá. A cama de casal maravilhosa e esquecem do conforto da terceira pessoa. Ao invés de descansar a noite vira um pesadelo.

Breakfast was lovely,
bathroom a bit small and shower is in the bath, which makes it very difficult to shower - my husband is an average size man - so it was a challenge even for me and I can understand that they are busy with renovations - the side we staying was very dated.

Location is great
The morning after arrival I was going to take a shower, I entered the shower and started washing, but then the cold water suddenly got cut of and I was left with only scorching hot water in the shower, so hot is was nearly impossible to wash the soap from my hair and body. It ended with me exiting the shower and having to dry off with all the soap still there. It was itching the whole day. I told the reception about the water. They couldn't care less. I asked if this was only for my room that this broke or if it was a bigger problem. They answered with sarcastic tone that they had not targeted me for this specifically and this was only temporary.
After coming back to the hotel in the afternoon I looked forward to showering. I managed to shower but when I wanted to use the toilet, it didnt work. There didn't seem to be any water in the tank to flush. I used the shower head to spray into the toilet to at least mitigate the situation. I told them about this in the lobby and went for dinner. Once I got back it still wasn't fixed but I was tired and decided to go to sleep, I had to check out the day after.
Morning after, for checkout day, I checked on the shower again. There was again no cold water and the toilet didnt work either. I decided to go to the lobby and ask if this was again temporary and if it would be possible for me to shower before I check out and even use the toilet. The person was visibly annoyed by my question and asked if I really wanted them to send someone up even if I was checking out in 2 hours. I told them yes I would very much like to shower and use the toilet before going to the airport. He said ok, so I left for an hour. When I got back, nothing was fixed. So I couldnt flush the toilet or shower.
In addition, in the mornings at 8:00 there was a lot of noise from construction so no way to sleep later than 8. Probably connected with the lack of cold water.
Avoid this hotel due to renovation work being carried out. You have this noise during breakfast. Breakfast was very poor. Nothing nice about the room for breakfast. The rooms are so outdated and furniture in bad condition with our shower attachment hanging off the wall. If you have a car they charge with €33 plus taxes per day. Carpet is all strained and air conditioning behind curtains so it’s not worth it. We were staying for 3 nights, but checked out after 1 day. Very poor standard for price to stay in this hotel.
