I was disappointed with my recent stay at the Best Western The Westerly Hotel in Courtenay.

The breakfast was quite basic and did not meet my expectations. Unfortunately, the room was also less comfortable than anticipated. The mattress was noticeably bumpy, and the bedding appeared worn and was quite itchy. I changed the flat sheet, but the replacement bedding was still uncomfortable.

My biggest concern, however, was the cleanliness of the bathroom. There was visible mold in the shower, as shown in the attached photo. It was quite noticeable and gave me the impression that the shower had not been cleaned thoroughly.

Noisy air conditioner spoiled my stay!

It was adequate.

Cons:

AC was terrible! Very noisy.kept me awake all night! Kept cutting out an out and going on constantly. Worst sleep ever. Certainly not worth what I paid for it!

Cons:

Very average hotel, maybe even below the average. No pool, nothing really special about the hotel except good employees. Hotel needs a renovation if they want to continue to charge $300 a night for a dark room.

Honestly, wanted to stay here again because of the great breakfast kept. Unfortunately, not anymore. Only half of the selection than before. I won’t be coming back. Nothing special about this hotel anymore. Dated paint colour and carpets. Hallways and stairwells are borderline creepy.
Also, tub stopper was broken, so couldn’t have a relaxing bath.
