Large room overlooking the garden, with one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in,particularly the pillows
Lovely bathroom and toiletries
Excellent cocktails
Delicious breakfast
Nothing major
Having stayed elsewhere in Bath for a few days last year, my wife and I had more places to enjoy and combined staying at this wonderfully located hotel with visiting those places. We had a two night package that included an afternoon tea with glass of bubbly, plus an evening six course taster meal. Not on the same day, I hasten to add, as the tea was enough to take us through to breakfast the first morning.
Upon arrival, our luggage was removed and the car taken to parking by the friendly concierge. A friendly and informative receptionist greeted us and showed us where everything was, and gave us a potted history of the hotel and Crescent. Amazingly our room was ready, at 14:00 hours and we settled in before heading, at 15:00,to our tea.
It was a lovely spring day with blue sky and sunshine galore. The gardens, are lovely and could be imagined as great to dine in al fresco in the summer. The tea was excellent.
The breakfast menu and buffet had all that s=could be desired and variations requested were accepted. Our evening taster meal was good, with some extremely tasty courses. Maybe not all, but that is a matter of personal taste. Service and information given on each course was vert good and we enjoyed discussing the various merits of the courses with the waiting staff.
We had a room overlooking the Crescent gardens and it was well equipped with comfy beds. A nice touch on arrival was a box of handmade chocs and later a plate of fruit.
All in all a stay worthy of another wedding anniversary, of which we have had many!
Thanks to all of the staff who made it so enjoyable.
Great location, and the level of service and decor to be expected at a 5 star hotel. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
Excellent hotel
Comfortable large bedroom with spacious modern bathroom and walk in shower that we had requested. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful Nice swimming pool ( although due to its size it can get busy) Spa was excellent.
All of the staff were friendly and professional.
I’ve stayed at this hotel over 5 times in the past 10 years & it’s always exceptional. Set in such a stunning part of Bath. The secluded gardens are truly marvellous
I love everything about this hotel
One of the most extraordinary hotels we've stayed at. I want to go back just to take in all that the hotel has to offer. Bath is delightful but the Royal Crescent is a trip in itself
With the location being the very best one could hope for in the Royal Crescent itself I was greeted by Gerard, and shared a confession that whilst I was sent away to boarding school at the tender age of 8 and brought up by Irish Catholic nuns in Pakistan in the mountains of the Himalayas, and retained contact with one of the nuns from then to this day, I had yet to visit his hometown, Ireland. Katie next greeted me informing me that my room was already ready( as I had surgery 6 months ago and needed to rest when I could) and also informed me that I had been upgraded to a slightly more spacious room. Clara at the 24 hour Reception desk was charming and lost helpful, Adam very obliging and Dipeeka (whom I had the most interaction with at the Bar) whom I could speak with in Urdu and myself talked of how each of our grandfathers had given us so much love. Like her I could not say goodbye to mine but at least hers was prevented out of parental love rather than spite as was mine. The food was delicious the chicken schnitzel not being an evening dish the chefs supervised by Rob, graciously agreed to the request. The duck starter was delicious but the portion miniscule (hint, hint!) An experience to be remembered. The Jane Austen Centre is a good visit and Austen did have good times in Bath despite financial struggles upon her father s death when in Bristol. Thanks for a fantastic stay. With gratitude, Sam
Location of the hotel is brilliant
The concierge staff were wonderful
We did however feel the service compared to others around and those who recommended this hotel to us lacked somewhat
Couple things in our room did not work
Breakfast was very nice, lovely choice
Some people got snacks with drinks others didn’t / some offered blankets when sat out, so it just felt a little personal everyone wasn’t treated the same
We did ask for the room elements to be fixed and they were the next day (but why this wasn’t solved pre check in was disappointing
On mentioning our experience at check out, we were apologised too but sadly we’d already paid for our room and apparently sorry is enough despite the premium spend
Lovely and relaxing stay. Loved the garden and the spa pool. The breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner at the restaurant were all delicious and beautifully presented! And how fun to stay in the famous Royal Crescent!
Some of the staff let the hotel down , not approachable or welcoming, spa experience was not enjoyable
Such potential but let down by some of the staff and the spa.
Great location, nice room, fantastic grounds, good restaurant. Restaurant staff were great. Therapists in the spa were great.
Spa reception with the exception of Sarah let the hotel down and some staff on main reception could be more helpful too. Pool area was 'okay', changing rooms were shabby. I know they are refurbishing that area but current guests still have to use it!
It's a shame as they are easy fixes which i hope are addressed.
Such a beautiful boutique hotel, the staff were attentive & friendly. We were lucky enough to have a front facing room, so enjoyed the people watching. Although the spa facilities are compact they were well thought out & felt luxurious
Bathroom was compact, but we understand that there are restrictions in historic properties
This was our fourth visit to the Royal Crescent Hotel and it was, as ever, excellent in every way. Simply the best hotel in Bath and we have stayed in quite a few.
The staff were all lovely and very attentive, We used the bar service which was excellent a great range of drinks and nibbles, the spa was lovely and really friendly staff and exceptionally clean, breakfast was amazing we both had the full English one of the days an i had the salmon and scrambled eggs another day which was georgeous.
nothing, are planning to go back later on in the year
We had a wonderful 3 night stay at the hotel and spa. Our room was the Classic and was not small - there was plenty of room and it was very comfortable. Decor in the room and everywhere is elegant and beautiful. The restaurant was excellent as was the spa. The spa pool area had a very cool vibe.
Position and spa facilities
I spent £400 for 1 night. Had a small room in the basement. Not worth the price
Location is really good, and you are completely central.
Spa and pool lovely - had a massage too which was great.
Staff OK (but they seem to target certain guests over others - that doesn’t sit right with me).
Hairdryer was fab (so much so, I went and bought one after I left!)
The bar was good, and cocktails delicious.
Breakfast also good (not fab, but not bad)
Was hoping for more of a heritage feel, but this has been ‘modernised’ (including painting antique furniture).
Parking is a pain… you need to book in advance, but again, only some guests get parking, let alone valet parking. Had to lug up all our luggage from the car park at the bottom of the hill late at night. Not what we needed after a 6 hour drive.
Had to ask for basics at breakfast, which should have really been ready… pastries, fruit juice, etc. Coffee is not very nice.
Rooms hot, but windows opened and there was a very nice scent/ fresh air coming from the gardens… not sure what this would be like in summer mind you.
No coat hooks, so wet clothes can only be hung in the wardrobe or over chairs.
No room service/ info book - tells you to use a code on the TV… which didn’t work/ link broken… and there’s a faff to get onto the internet to follow the broken link. Ended up just calling room service. This is just annoying. Bring back a hard copy info book please!
Items of garbage/ used room service left outside in the hallway (from another room/ guest)… no one removed it for quite some time (more than 24 hours).
If you want a few days away for relaxation, peace and excellent service, then this is the place to stay. Everything was outstanding.
That we had to go home.
