I’ve stayed at the voco several times over the past 18 months, and it has firmly established itself as one of my favourite hotels in the UK.
Every single visit has been consistently excellent. From the moment I arrive, the staff are genuinely friendly, welcoming and incredibly helpful. Nothing ever feels like too much trouble, and that level of hospitality makes such a difference when you’re regularly staying away from home.
Perhaps the biggest compliment I can give is that on a recent business trip, my employer booked me into a nearby competitor hotel. I was so disappointed with the experience that I chose to book myself into the voco instead, at my own expense. That probably says more than anything else about how highly I rate this hotel!
There’s something reassuring about arriving somewhere you know you’ll be well looked after, and the voco delivers that time after time. It’s always a genuine pleasure to stay here, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

Easy to find on a spacious site close to a main road. Open plan linked by outside private seating areas; lovely. Access to leisure facilities a bonus!
Air con in public spaces was a bit over the top but can understand why in the unusual outside heat
The bed and the shower were probably the best we have experienced. Great hotel, friendly staff and a lovely well equipped room. Great location too for a pre cruise stay being just 30 mins to the port.
It was busy at breakfast and if people were seated rather than left to find their own seat it would have made better use of the available tables. Food wise, spot on.

Restaurant service rather slow, not enough staff. Hotel difficult to find, signposting from the main road would help. Also confused with other hotels nearby with very similar names.

I liked how pleasant all the staff were and willing to ablidge in any way. Constant contact through text messages that if anything you are not happy with to respond so they can address..exceptional food menu.. nice ambience thoughout the hotel .
