Enjoyed a fabulous night at the Hayfield. As usual the attention to detail was excellent. The staff were very professional & welcoming. The food was truly delicious. Can’t wait to visit there again!
An oasis of comfort and charm from which to explore Cork. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - well-appointed and comfortable room, good breakfast and a good quality dinner.
Stayed here for a short trip and loved it.
The hotel has a modern and classy vibe.

Would book again.”
Loved Perrott a restaurant and staff- so helpful
Waited 30 mins to get into breakfast
Was told grab a coffee and wait by reception
There was no coffee cups, so we ordered to order 2 teas and 2 coffee’s thinking it was free as we were waiting for breki & we’d be getting tea/coffee at the breakfast anyway
But we got a bill for the 2 teas & coffee’s
This should have been complimentary as we were WAITING for a table for breki
We ordered our hot breki & were then told d buffet wud be shut in 10 mins, then 15 mibs after getting our breki we were told the breakfast area was shutting
Were like
We paid for our breki
We waited 30 mins to be brought into the breakfast room
We weee charged for teas & coffees while waiting for breki
The buffet was shutting soon
Then we were out of there after 30 mins
After paying what we did for b&b this was not good enough
Very disappointed with this area of our stay
My husband & I stayed here in a deluxe room #303 for 2 nights. We arrived at 3:30PM, but Emily stated that our room was not ready. They were able to store our luggage. We were told our room would be ready soon and she would come and collect us. Around 4:15PM Emily came outside to say our room was still not ready. Emily did pay for our 2 cocktails. We sat outside until after 5 PM at this point it was starting to get chilly outside. When we went to the front desk, we were told Emily went home. The girl at the desk now said oh yes, your room has been ready. We were then given an actual key and told that our luggage was already in our room. We were only given one actual key as there was not another.
Upon arriving in our room, everything was neat and tidy. We had requested a refrigerator for our room, but there was no refrigerator. I called to the front desk & they said that they would bring one up. We quickly unpacked & made room for the arrival of the refrigerator. We had dinner reservations for 7 PM. When we left to go downstairs for dinner at five before the hour, the refrigerator still had not arrived. I stopped by the desk and was told she would look into it and have the refrigerator delivered. Fortunately, when we came back from dinner, the refrigerator was there.
The temperature of the room was very comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. The chairs in the room were also comfortable, but we’re very old and tired. The chairs were clean, but they definitely needed to be replaced soon. The carpeting in the room was clean, but needs to be steam cleaned &/or replaced. As for the bathroom, the tub (as shown in my numerous pictures) needs to be replaced. The shower is quite tiny. The bathroom is in need of a major uplift. There isn’t even a rack for towels. The towels were placed directly on the heater. The stool in the bathroom had stains on it.
I can’t stress enough that the housekeepers do the very best at cleaning these rooms but they need to be refurnished. This is not an inexpensive hotel.
The grounds of the hotel are quite lovely. The Avery that is on property was an added bonus. This hotel is too far to walk to town easily.
Dylan at the Bloom bar is an excellent mixologist. I would highly recommend going to the Bloom bar. We did dine at both of the restaurants which I will review separately. Breakfast was included in our package each morning. The breakfast were definitely an experience. The food was excellent and so was the service.
I did go to the spa and I enjoyed swimming in the pool. The best feature of the Spa is that it is child free. I inquired about the pool and was told no children at the pool either. But while I was waiting for my treatment, a gentleman brought his child in splashing and playing in the pool. It is not my place to say anything to this gentleman, but someone should have. I no longer had quiet time. My spa treatment massage was lovely.
I would give Hayfield 3.5 stars if I could. I understand that this is a very old building, but improvements can be made.
Beautiful decor throughout Lovely pool. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice.Attentive but not intrusive staff and log fires which were a treat on a chilly January night.

The Hotel was beautiful very comfortable. Nice walk into the city. We stayed in the Forde Suite it was fab. Lovely choice of places to eat in the hotel.
From the moment of our booking till our departure we felt absolutely spoilt ! on arrival we were greeted by the friendly porter Peter who came to the car and looked after our luggage and bought it to the our allocated room - room 328 . On entering the hotel Aine came to assist us , was already in contact with Aine with my dinner reservations and she was so very helpful . Thank you Aine , On to reception where Rita looked after us explained everything in detail . Our room 328 beautifully decorated love the Christmas Tree in each room , a lovely touch ! Dinner was exceptional in Perrotts Garden Bistro , compliments to the wonderful chefs and we were looked after by a new French waitress with attentive service throughout .
In the hotel lobby the piano music is such a nice touch ! Denis Desmond sure knows how to add to the atmosphere with his brilliant music . A true gentleman ! we had the privilege of a chat with him at the end of the night such an interesting man ! could we talk for hours we sure could !!!! its was long past our bedtime so to be continued Denis !!!!
We would like a special mention also to Nathan - thank you for looking after us with the request for the darts final on the TV in our room - you sure went above and beyond to ensure we were going to have a great stay . Thank you also Nathan for the late check out very much appreciated as I was able to get to use the spa facilities . Thank you .
Overall our experience is - a brilliant fantastically run hotel with no request overlooked . Thank you to all the staff , Keep up the good work !
The staff was delightful and welcoming. The lobby and rooms were perfect. (Live music in the lobby is a wonderful touch.) The breakfast was delicious and generous. If we come back, we'll stay longer.
We booked this hotel for the first night in Ireland. After a long day and a half of travel, it was so nice to be welcomed by the helpful and friendly staff. The entire manor was immaculate.
Significantly over priced for the quality, comfort and view of the room.
