We were at Hayfield Manor for a special birthday lunch for my son, and it was perfect. The 'Happy Birthday' fruit platter at the end of the meal was a lovely touch.
Hotel and location are brilliant. Short walk into the city. If there was 6 stars I'd give it to the staff. Everyone was so helpful and went out of their way to make our stay extra special
Greeted by lovely concierge with umbrella so I wouldn't get wet. EV was parked and charged for us. Lovely drink while checking in. Everything was quick and easy. Dinner at the bar was fabulous. Cocktails in garden bar were pricey but worth it! Can't wait to come back for 2 nights and sample the pool and spa. One night was not long enough!
The staff are very welcoming and incredibly helpful.
The rooms are spotless.
Service in the breakfast restaurant and the bar is of a very high standard.
The facilities in the spa area are very good.
The array of breakfast food is wonderful but I would look for an alternative source for the breakfast sausages!
We visited forban afternoon tea which was wonderfull staff wer fabulous the hotel is exquisite there was a piano player in the lobby which set a beautifull ambience really had a great afternoon
We had a fabulous trip for our special anniversary. Room was beautiful with nice views of the garden & beautiful treats for us to enjoy. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Amazing food in Perrotts Garden Bistro for dinner and breakfast the next day, didn't want to leave. Thank you Gerhard and team ❤
Booked a spa treatment. This time, I chose an Elemis 90min treatment , with (and I highly recommend) a wonderful aesthetician, called Laura.
Bliss from start to finish!
Used jacuzzi , steam and pool to begin (which I had to myself, mind you)!!!
Then for a luxurious massage and facial; followed by tea and sorbet , in the recovery room to ease me back into the big world 😁
Lest I forget, my meet and greet welcoming committee, jelly bean the black and white gentleman puss, and his entourage of manager and porters finding my chats with Mr puss entertaining! Apparently, he’s a TripAdvisor celeb❣️❣️
I attended the Spa on Saturday 28/02/2026 and I had the luck to have Marcel as my therapist. She was the most elegant and respectful lady who communicated with me constantly making sure I was happy and comfortable and enjoying my massage. I had asked for a deep tissue massage and her magic fingers and elbows found all my knots and twists and eaked them out, all the time checking with me that I was happy and not in any way uncomfortable and gave me great relief on my shoulders. When she paid attention to my face and decolletage it was entirely the opposite, her fingers whispered across my face and neck and gave me a lovely feeling of serenity.
Marcel is a credit to herself and your spa and I would be very obliged if again you would thank her very much for the attention she paid me last Saturday.
Afterwards my husband joined me for lunch and we really enjoyed a delicious lunch together in Perrot's Bistro. Again the staff were so attentive and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. As were leaving to go for a stroll around UCC your concierge gave us both an umbrella as the weather was so unpredictable. Again a very nice and considerate gesture which saved the day considering the rain lashed down on us in the Quad!!
My sincere gratitude to everyone at Hayfield Manor for a sumptuous afternoon in beautiful surroundings which was a lovely respite from a grey wet February day.
We stayed for 2 nights and had one dinner in Perrotts restaurant. The staff are probably the greatest asset this hotel has. Every single one from the doorman to the cleaning staff were courteous and friendly. As you would expect, the hotel is clean and well maintained throughout. Food was good but not exceptional on the night we are there. Breakfast was well prepared but for a 5* hotel the choice could have been better. The hotel was not very busy when we were there so there was never a problem finding a quiet place to sit and read a book or have a coffee in either the Library or Drawing Room. I can imagine this might not be the case in busier times. Its location is excellent. We felt as though we were in the middle of the countryside it was so quiet and yet you are only a 20 minute walk into Cork city centre. Now to the bedroom. We had booked one of their special offers for a Manor King room. The room was large and comfortable but it should be noted that these rooms are on the top floor with only a small window under the eves. Or at least this was the case for us. To look out the window we had to step up on to a platform. So you were never going to be able to sit by the window and look outside or just sit and read a book. The thing that disappointed me was that the hotel was not at all full and I’m sure there were better rooms available. An upgrade where available is always good for future business. The decor was very well maintained but lacked warmth. This I’m sure was partly due to the absence of a full window with curtains. The small window could only accommodate a plain blind. These may seem like small issues and they are, but when you book a 5* hotel you expect more. I would recommend this hotel as a place to stay in Cork but I would be more careful about my room choice in the future.
It was a short but amazing stay.
Due to a delay flight we had to make some last minute chances what brought me to the Hayfield Manor hotel.
Quick check in, wonderful room and very comfortable bed.
In the morning, while waiting for the taxi to continue my trip, I had a lovely chat with the Guest Relation Manager ( my apologies I forgot her name).
Can recommend the hotel to everyone!
Beautiful five star hotel, located beside UCC and close to the City Centre. Checking in was a pleasurable experience and all our bags went straight to our room ahead of us. The upgrade on the room was very welcome and was of the highest standard. We relaxed in their cosy bar before heading to the Bistro for our evening meal. There was an excellent range of menu choices and the food and wine were memorable. After the meal we sat beside an open fire with our father dinner drinks and enjoyed the live piano music near reception. Breakfast selection was extensive and catered for all tastes. Staff were courteous and helpful at all stages of our visit. We will come back again.
It was a special birthday celebration and I booked an overnight with my sister. From start to finish we both relished the comfort and the welcome that Hayfield provided. Staff were very friendly and helpful in just the right measure. Our room was so comfortable and spacious...in particular the beds...lovely choice of pillows...crisp cotton sheets...the bathroom had double sinks and excellent mute lighting. We particularly enjoyed the spa...the pool area was meticulously clean and the heat of the outdoor jacuzzi...just fab. We rounded off our evening with a delicious meal in Perrotts which I highly recommend. A shared cured salmon starter followed by perfectly cooked haddock in the main course with courgette ratatouille and tarragon carrots...all delicious. Breakfast next morning was excellent...every possible taste catered for. We reluctantly left with the certainty of returning soon!!
Had a lovely long weekend stay at the Hayfield Manor hotel. The staff were all excellent, our room large and very comfortable. We’d a delicious breakfast and enjoyed the bar area and quieter room at various points of the evening. Highly recommended.
We recently stayed at the Hayfield Manor while looking at UC Cork for my daughter. First, the location was incredibly convenient for looking at the school, it is literally next door. An easy walk to the school or in to town.
The Hotel itself is beyond charming. Old world style and charm with impeccable service. It perfectly balanced being luxurious without being stuffy. This hotel has so much character, and the people working make it all the better. The doorman Liam was one of the most charming people we have ever met--he offered us suggestions at every turn without being intrusive. He heard that my daughter wanted to study medicine and had so much advice about UCC and tried to get her in touch with a hotel employee currently studying medicine at UCC!
The bathrooms were lovely and comfortable, though the shower was just a tiny bit tight. The bed was so comfortable.
Finally, the food was exceptional. We had dinner at the bistro the first night with friends, and all of us loved our food. One of my daughters has celiac disease, and they were able to accommodate her perfectly. (On that note, they left a treat in our rooms and had a note that it was gluten free-a small touch, but one that really resonated, as we often wonder!). And the breakfast in the morning was the best breakfast I have maybe ever eaten. I had the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, and it was divine.
Checkout was easy, and they were more than accommodating allowing my younger daughter to read in the lobby while we toured the school.
Overall, this was a fantastic experience for the whole family, a quiet and charming country home where the service, comfort, and food are all impeccable. Highly recommend, and hope to return soon!
Had an enjoyable stay. Love the lobby area. Food was lovely but chairs in the garden bistro restaurant were very uncomfortable, could do with being replaced. Pillows were hard and light in bathroom kept blinking while in use. Breakfast was in garden bistro which was disappointing as was in Orchid restaurant on last stay. Was definitely not a 5 star experience
We went with a friend to be pampered for her birthday and it was amazing. From the location to atmosphere and the staff, everything was perfection. My friend had the best birthday weekend ever thanks to the amazing team. If you're looking for a place to relax and disconnect from the world, this is the place.
Delicious meal, in beautiful surroundings served by very friendly waitress
We are always made to feel special at Hayfield. Its why we keep going back! It was our first night away from our baby and we were celebrating our wedding anniversary too. We booked a deluxe room and it did not disappoint. But its always the finer details that make Hayfield that cut above the rest…we were given a lovely welcome drink, there was a bottle of prosecco and light bites waiting for us in the room and rose petals on the bed. But most importantly to us, I had to unexpectedly leave the hotel to comfort our baby and the staff and restaurant were so obliging switching our reservation time. My only regret is that we didn’t get more time to enjoy some of the other hotel facilities like their pool/jacuzzi.
We wont stay here again. It's historical and beautiful. The food was marginal and the service in the restaurant was poor. The breakfast buffet and breakfast service was nice.
Also we called ahead to see if we could add a cot to our room as our other sister met us in Ireland... they said we'd just have to upgrade which was fine. 5 hrs later they left us a msg saying they couldn't do that but service was bad so when we arrived we were surprised we had to search for a hotel room somewhere else for her. They should have at least let us book somewhere else with a refund instead of us staying in separate hotels.. considering that they made the mistake of telling us it was possible. but it was non refundable..
