Near to the main railway station, which was why I booked it, but on reflection I should have chosen a hotel in the direction of the city centre. My choice, so I cannot complain, but worth bearing in mind after a day sightseeing and enjoying the Christmas markets. As with many hotels, the price went up very considerably at the weekend. Receptionists all very helpful. I had a room at the back, with no view, but exceptionally quiet. No fridge, but there is a window ledge/sill in the ensuite, hint hint and a corner shop across the road selling lots of different alcohol and pastries, etc. I didn't have breakfast there, but saved my appetite for the Christmas specialities. I would only recommend Aachen for the Carolus Thermal Baths. They are fantastic. I didn't do the sauna, but now I wish I had and I would opt for the 4.5 hours as the time just flew by. A wonderful experience. Visit the cathedral, but not the throne. A waste of money. The jewels were interesting though. Not the town hall, expensive and uninteresting.
Eat at the Brauhaus, but be sure to book.
Recomendo fortemente!
Great room. Lots of space. Good location
Room was clean, staff helpful, breakfast fine. You do get what you pay for. Room walls are thin and the beeping of the code locks are disturbing especially at 2.30 in the morning
Surprisingly quiet although on a major junction in the city. Otherwise standard hotel as one would expect.
Great location
I stayed here from 24-28 July with my partner and father in law for the Belgian Grand Prix. I was a bit sceptical before arrival after seeing some reviews and not a lot of recent ones with pictures etc. I didn't manage to take any pictures as I completely forgot being so busy across the weekend. The hotel its self was good overall , we stayed in room 330 a triple room and the room was always clean, very big , the beds where comfy although there was only one pillow per bed and it was way too soft for any of us. The shower was probably the worst part of the room not being very powerful but it worked so it done its job. It would have been brilliant if there was a fridge in the room but for the price you pay I didn't expect one to be honest. There is no safe in the room but there was room for the clothes to be hung and a few shelves so we just locked that room and took the key with us. Car parking underneath is €15 per night and quite a few spaces with some lifts in some spaces. We were room only so didn't have anything to eat but we bought a couple of drinks for the room and they were reasonably priced. They also have a little stand at the front desk with some snacks/crisps for sale. The location for us was decent and it was very quiet, only a short walk to the main train station where there is a couple of shops and a McDonalds. If I was in the area again and wanted a clean place to sleep/shower I would definitely consider it.
Room was tiny, bathroom tiny. AC did not work very well. Parking garage was tiny.
Located about a 5 minute walk from Aachen Hbf railway station.
Rooms are basic but comfortable and clean.
Breakfast is ok. A selection of ham, cheese, bread and yogurts. No croissants or pain au raisins etc.
If in Aachen I'd stay here again if the price is right
Danke. War für mich alleine gut
Ok
Viele Geräusche und Türgeräusche nachtsüber.
Good staff. Not far from main attractions.
I had arrived very jetlagged and tired after a 24 hour flight and a couple of tedious train trips so was hoping for a good night’s rest. Being a light sleeper, the initial room assigned to me facing the main road was not satisfactory.
But Hermann and Eric at reception put it right and switched me to a quieter room on the 4th floor facing the back courtyard. Quiet was precisely what I needed.
Really pleased that they had gone to the trouble to obtain a quieter room for me. So many other hotels would just say they are full. But these two guys obviously believe in customer satisfaction and making the extra effort to put things right. It may not seem to be a big thing but it is extremely important for me that I get a good night’s rest and start my holidays on the right foot.
Thank you Hermann and Eric!
