Our second time at The Mercure Mt St Michel.
The positive point is that it is warm!!!! lol, given the cold outside, it was wonderful to enter a warm building and a warm bedroom (some hotel bedrooms are so cold when we reach) . Service af reception was good, helpful, nothing fancy… not helping with suitcases.. but that is ok lah. If the structure of the hotel allows it, we would really recommend to have an elevator, for those of us travelling from far with huge suitcases… please think of it. Last…. The outside toilet is not cleaned often enough to my opinion… as the corridor, which was full of soil and leaves….
The bedroom was very warm, spacious, nice, except the mini winnie tiny toilet. Like…. Why building this separate toilet like that, where we can’t move?… that was weird. But all the rest was great, no stress.
Breakfast buffet was nice and the location is also very nice, very light.
Note: if you stay here make sure you have the code to get through the gate to access the hotel! We got to the island and there were two ways to go- to the day lot for parking or a gate to get to hotels. We didn’t have a code so we had to pull over and call the hotel.
The hotel is up to date, clean and convenient to get the shuttle to the island. We had breakfast included and it was very good- nice selection.
Note: in our room the bathroom had a tub/shower and it was a VERY HIGH step to get in and out of the tub. There are no grab bars or railings.
We went to the bar for a drink and in our 2 1/2 weeks in France it was the only place where they automatically added a tip to our bill!!!
Nice hotel good place to stay for one night.
Great hotel so close to Mont St Michel the free shuttle stops right in front of the hotel ….be sure to eat at the restaurant Le Pre Sale great dinner !
Clean room and convenient location.
Very convenient when visiting the mont st michel. Buses are available every 15 min and take you right in front of hotel. The area feels very safe
Mercure quality is definitely dropping they used to be quality now I’d rate no more than 2 star. I hate there are no proper mugs or glasses in the rooms only single use cardboard cups that are horrible to drink from. Reception today at check in stunk of BO.
The hotel looks tired, rooms are tiny and very oddly laid out, it’s no longer 4star, for the price we won’t be using this chain again.
Very close to the mont st. Michel. Easy walk from hotel to the mont. it takes a special code to access the hotel zone by car. We did not receive the code beforehand and had to call, but perhaps the miscommunication was due to booking through Expedia site. Not a big deal but my wife had a borderline breakdown because of it. Doesn’t take much for that tho…
We ummed and ahhhed over whether to stay here or actually on Mont St Michel and are glad we picked this hotel.
Code to the barrier was supplied by the hotel on request and you feel kinda special being able to drive straight in!
Hotel was ok, dated in style but staff were pleasant enough and we enjoyed a good few beers at the bar!
Room was of an adequate size and so was the bathroom but really disappointed there was no hot water in the morning. We did mention it on check out and got the standard apology but who wants a cold shower when they wake up in the morning? Certainly not us!
Breakfast was ample and tasty. Would stay again if we were ever to visit again.
Room was ok but toilet door and bathroom door did not close properly. Toilet room was very small, making sitting down and standing up difficult for tall people. The breakfast had very good options.
Close to Mont Saint Michel
My wife and I really enjoyed our three-day stay at the Mercure in late July. The hotel was clean and had a great breakfast in the nearby restaurant. The best feature was the location. It's near the causeway leading to Mont Saint Michel, which is easily reachable by shuttle and walking. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only downside was the lack of an elevator/lift, which made carrying luggage to our room difficult (we were on the second floor).
We recently stayed for one night at this hotel. We had a "Privilge" room, which is what I recommend: Those rooms are in the older part of the hotel, which is more charming; and are more spacious. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. This is the perfect location to visit the Month, as the shuttle stops nearby and you can park within the hotel property
Clean. Shuttle service to Mt St michel in front of hotel. Also walkable to Mt St Michel. Restaurants nearby
Localisation géniale pour visiter à pied le Mont-St-Michel /25 minutes à pied. chambre un peu petite pour 3 mais quand même confortable. Déjeuner complet - œuf, crêpes, machine à café, etc...
I had emailed the hotel well in advance, asking about amenities, particularly parking. I was informed we would get a code before we arrived and that there was a hairdryer in the room. That's it.
When we arrived, we had to punch the code into a gated machine; easy enough. When we left the area, we were not told how to get out, or how to get back in. After being yelled at by the gate attendant, we figured it out.
We checked in late (5 pm) and about an hour before, we received an email that we were too late to eat dinner; their restaurant was full. When I asked the desk clerk where we should eat, she gestured across the street.
We went across the street, and, they were full. We called two other places and they were full as well. We were finally seated at a restaurant, but, it would have been nice to know ahead of time that this is an issue.
The room was comfortable and the hotel had free parking. But the rest was somewhat ridiculous.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this hotel. We took a family room which was spacious and clean and exceptionally quiet. The location is great in order to visit Mont St Michel, either to walk or take one of the many local bus options.
Comfortable and well-placed for visiting Mont-Saint-Michel.
Let down by the poor wifi thanks to Accor, and a mediocre breakfast.
The bathroom ventilation is very noisy, so difficult to sleep at night.
Good value for the location - shuttle drop off and pick up right outside for Mont St. Michel
Stayed there for one night - nice hotel - no real concerns. Rooms are spacious, the location is superb. I got a bit confused on the parking procedure and ended up turning into a big parking lot instead of going through the gate for "authorized vehicles only", I wish it was explained better somewhere. There are two floors and no elevator so you have to haul your luggage upstairs and downstairs. When it's raining it gets pretty loud because of the plastic roof covering the courtyard. The breakfast is served in the restaurant adjacent to the hotel and it is pretty good. The location is within the gated area and is almost as close as one can get to the Mont-Saint-Michel.
We stayed here in May 2025 for one night. We reserved a “Standard Double” room. We were very pleasantly surprised that this 3-star chain hotel would be so nice! The room was spacious, very comfortable, and very clean. Our room had a small refrigerator and coffee-making supplies. We walked to Mont Saint Michel (~ 25-minute walk) rather than take the overcrowded tram. We were also able to walk to dinner (there are several restaurants nearby). The huge breakfast buffet was delicious and continually replenished by helpful employees. Parking is conveniently available in the hotel parking lot. We highly recommend this hotel.
