We booked into this place for a 4 day break.
And I thought I would look to see if it had improved.
Our experience was dreadfully awful and we only stayed 1night as we had to sleep somewhere and left the next morning.
It is poorly managed, maintained and does not give anything remotely value for money.
I’m even surprised it’s still running.
Pool Bar food Setting
Cooler in room for bottled water or a water cooler like the one in the pool area somewhere else in the hotel
There was nothing to dislike.hotel is just amazing all facilities resturant .bar. leisure centre rooms spotless all staff so friendly & helpfull.
Nothing
Needs air conditioning
Great environment, clean great rooms
Nothing to report on
There was plenty of parking and outside space. The shower was good. We stayed during a heatwave and they thoughtfully left a fan in the bedroom as there was no air conditioning. Breakfast and dinner were good.
Our room was small and rather dark with only one small window.
The staff was so helpful especially Lorraine
Beautiful building, lovely outside space
Feels tired, no fridge or AC in room
restaurant was separately managed and run and was exceptional except for breakfast staff being pushy and rushing us.
leisure facilities were as good as previously known.
having known this hotel in the past it is a shadow of its former status. we found the whole hotel in poor condition especially cleanliness. we will not stay there again and would not recommend it. management tried to appease but the place needs a complete shutdown and a deep clean. there are visible repairs needed and cleaning staff need training as we observed a complete lack of knowledge of germ prevention or the spreading of germs in that the same cleaning cloths were used continually completely cross contaminating every surface and no use of cleaning products.
Location is great for visiting Jimmy's farm.
Sunday roast was great 👍, stayed in Presidential Suite which was large and comfortable 😀
Staff need to speak to guests more, ie Reception, Restaurant and breakfast room, not very welcoming in any of these areas, only replied to questions when approached.
However staff in the bar were helpful 👌
The garden room was adjacent to main hotel in well kept gardens which gave privacy and was very peaceful. The indoor swimming pool, sauna and steam room was complimentary to guests and no time restrictions, towels and lockers provided.Hotel has Ala carte restaurant and saloon bar ( reasonable prices)staff were friendly and helpful with good service all round. Very clean well appointed Hotel which would easily rivel a London equivalent. This was our second visit in a month, first being in actual Hotel and we will definitely be returning.
Garden room did not have walk in shower as expected just shower over bath but still a very good shower
We booked and payed for 2 nights but went home after one night room wasn't clean main door handle was loose outdated decor booked a club room it seemed very basic loose carpets in hall . next day for breakfast bar area hadn't been cleared from night before doesn't live up to pictures as advertised not a pleasant stay. Glad to be home.
The hotel was great and we had booked the Admiral Suite which was lovely. We had staff help with my luggage and as I use a walking stick this was very helpful. Fabulous restaurant and dinner and breakfast was ok, everything a bit overcooked as had been sitting on the warmers for some time.
Our room, although lovely had so many cobwebs, on the blinds, on the doors, on the lights. The panelling in the single toilet was filthy and needed a good clean and whilst having the double doors which opened onto the back garden was lovely the balcony was covered with cigarette butts. We would stay again though as the staff were great and the location and dinner was really nice.
Location just out side of Ipswich but an easy taxi ride to the quay
The decor maybe but that’s down to taste
