Exceptional qualities
Pros:

My experience here was exceptional. Every single staff member was professional, thoughtful, helpful, kind, considerate and respectful. The restaurant attached to the hotel has high quality meals as well as snacks; Recommend this location and will stay here again for my next visit due to the overall excellent standards.

I enjoyed my stay and will definitely continue to use the property for visits to Edinburgh.
Pros:

The property is ideally placed out of the city centre but on a major bus route into the city centre. Guests have free use of the excellent leisure centre and swimming pool adjacent to the hotel.

Cons:

Since my last visit there is now a charge of £8 for 24 hours parking. Given the property’s suburban location this seems excessive.

Good stay, nice staff, pricey breakfast
Pros:

The room was clean, small but adequate. Staff were helpful and friendly. The location is close to my son's so very convenient. I was very happy they put our 2 rooms close together - staff again helpful.

Cons:

The hair dryer in my daughter's room didn't work. I think having to pay £16 for parking on top of the room was excessive. The breakfast prices were too high £17 each / day. I would have paid £12 but this was excessive.
I tried calling the hotel directly and couldn't get through.

Pros:

Staff friendly and helpful. Room comfortable and clean. Lots of places to sit and have coffee or drinks.

Cons:

The food, not breakfast, was very limited and frankly tasteless. I expected better. It tasted like frozen food you re-heated in the microwave.

Can get better
Pros:

Good location, good staff

Cons:

The bed was a good size, however the mattress was not very comfortable as it felt quite old and firm. I could also hear a lot of noise from the neighbouring room, including people speaking loudly, the TV volume being high, and doors closing loudly. The toilet flush also did not work very well. Additionally, the corridor was being painted during my stay and there was a noticeable smell of fresh paint. As I am asthmatic, this made the stay a little unpleasant for me.
