Categories

Cleanliness
7.6
Many guests reported rooms as clean and immaculate, but multiple mentions of unpleasant odors (humid, cigarette, possible urine) and some grubby breakfast-room chair backs lower the score.
Service
9.3
Consistently praised staff: friendly, helpful front desk and proud housekeeping; one notable poor arrival/keys issue is isolated compared to many positive reports.
Location
8.8
Frequently noted as convenient (near supermarkets, restaurants, right on the highway and a good stop for Yosemite) with plenty of well-lit parking; some traffic noise mentioned but not a major drawback.
Room Quality
8.2
Rooms often described as large, comfortable beds and good bathrooms, but several comments about aging decor, noisy air conditioning and occasional odors reduce the score slightly.
Amenities
7.9
Pool, jacuzzi and sauna are attractive features, and there are ice machine/vending options, but repeated reports of jacuzzi out of service, cold covered pool and lift outages lower the amenity rating.
Value for Money
8
Many guests value the included breakfast and convenient location, but a number felt the property was a bit tired or pricey for the condition.
Food and Beverage
8.6
Breakfast is repeatedly praised as substantial, varied and tasty; isolated service issues such as a broken coffee machine and a full trash can in the dining area are noted.
Overall Experience
8.8
Overall positive travel-stop experience: clean rooms, friendly staff and good breakfast lead to many recommendations despite some maintenance and odor issues.

Great stay at the Yosemite Gateway
Pros:

This is a typical roadside accommodation, a fantastic stop for our trip to Yosemite. The room was huge, clean & comfortable. Older style but in good condition. Breakfast was included, substantial & tasty. Very near to local supermarkets if you need to stock up. It was right on the highway so yes a bit of traffic noise but not unpleasant.
The pool & spa looked very enticing shame we didn’t have the time.

Cons:

The lift was out, it didn’t worry us but I really felt bad for the staff having to lug trolleys up the stairs. Hot water in the foyer was out, not great for tea drinkers but the staff were more than accommodating.
