Great location when you travel by car. The hotel is only 10min walk from the old town and you can park your car in the secure parking lot of the hotel. This was particularly important for us as we were travelling with two oldtimers. The reception team was very friendly and the rooms, although relatively small were practical with direct access to the swimming pool. The air conditionning was working fine and very welcome as France was suffering from one of its worst Heat wave. Apart from an altercation with a very unfriendly waitress, our dining experiences ( we stayed 3 nights) were positive. Breakfast was good and plenty. Overall we can recommend this hotel as a starting point for trips in and around Carcassonne.
The location was perfect to visit the Citadel.
The hotel was very clean, comfortable & well appointed.
The staff from reception to cleaners & all between were exceptionally helpful, especially after a fall needing hospital attendance. Nothing was too much trouble.
We enjoyed a weeks stay here as we found it to be a great base to explore the area .
The hotel as others have said is in a great location for visiting the old Medieval Cité and the city too.
We were very happy with the hotel parking good. Reception friendly and helpful and gave us a great sheet of recommended local restaurants that did not disappoint.
The rooms are not big but big enough and have everything you need for a short stay. ( many hotels high end also no longer supply lots of toiletries ) just basic soap and shower gel in wall mounted bottles.
In the lobby they have a water fountain you can fill your own bottles or the glass ones to take to your room.
Breakfast was very good, brilliant selection of continental items and a few hot ones. Excellent coffee which is very important to me. The staff were all very friendly and helpful , yes there is a shy member of staff but that’s what they are shy ! We had delicious breakfasts every morning ( seven ) we also enjoyed lunch at the hotel and drinks from the bar. We were very impressed the wine we had by the glass was wine we had tried at a vineyard earlier in the week.
The swimming pool is lovely and was big enough to cool off . We never had a problem getting a sun bed when we wanted one .
For me the only disappointment was no free weights in the small gym room , they have a bench but no weights which is odd . I know they don’t advertise a gym but seems pointless having the room at all if no weights.
For any negative reviews I would read between the lines this is a good well run hotel and best of all that everyone misses The Price ! It is very good value for what you get . Just remember when you book through booking agents the hotel looses 25% plus vat so support hotels if you want them to refurb and and replace things in the future
