Pros:

Room very clean but very dated regarding furnishings. Dissappointed that with a bookin for 2 guests there was only 1 bath towel in the bathroom ( we later found towels inside the wardrobe???)
All staff very very friendly :). Jamie who checked us in was very welcoming & friendly - he really made a difference, he’s a credit to your hotel

They found our passport in the room when we checked out but extended our stay in another room. The hotel did not call us and had it over to us when we were still staying at the property. After we exited Durham to London ,we had to come back a day later and collect our passport .It was an Expensive Inconvenience…

The Durham Royal County is very centrally located. The rooms are comfortable and well-appointed with lovely bathrooms. The staff were efficient and friendly. Good buffet breakfast although the coffee from a machine was not great. The reception area, bar and dining room, despite being in a historic building are corporate and bland. I would recommend for the location and the rooms.

Pros:

The hotel itself was clean, the staff were great and the bed was comfortable however our room was very dated, small and the bath was incredibly creaky. The quality of the breakfast was alright but it was Luke warm at best which let it down. Overall it was fine but you can get better at a lot cheaper rates.

Pros:

Has the potential to be much more, parts are very tired and our room was quite noisy. On check in the young male receptionist was brilliant and went above and beyond, his female counterpart was, in complete contrast, surly and rude.
Breakfast was disappointing.

The room and bathroom weren't the cleanest. Alot of hair on the floor. Grubby around the shampoo etc. Food was decent and service in restaurant was nice but it was really really slow. 90 minutes for 2 courses and only about 3 other tables in.
