We paid a very good rate for a 2 night stay so what we experienced was to be expected.
Pros:

Location was perfect for us, bed comfortable, excellent value for money.

Cons:

On checking in we were told we had been upgraded which included soft drinks - which was in fact just 2 cans of Pepsi - I don’t think people would be happy if they paid for this upgrade.
The gym was very tired and outdated but we were still able to have a workout.
On our final night, the hotel was hosting a bridal shower. We couldn’t hear this from our room, however the 11pm fireworks woke us with a start. Feel we should have been notified that this was going to happen.

A relaxing break in a lovely location , but very disappointing spa experience.
Pros:

We had a large room for 4 adults with a lovely view of the lake. It was very peaceful and relaxing.

Cons:

We chose this Spa hotel for a much needed spa break.
The stairlift to the spa was not working and the lift had apparently not worked for over 10 years.
My daughter cannot manage stairs. The young man on the spa reception was very apologetic and helped her to walk through the hotel and restaurant and through 2 sets of fire doors to the spa. Although this meant she could use the spa facilities it was very embarrassing and a long difficult walk. We did not use the spa on the second day because it was again the only way to get her there .
The jacuzzi was also out of action during our stay.

Fab stay, very friendly and welcoming
Pros:

Lovely hotel with extra facilities if required. Very friendly and welcoming. Food was great.
Rroom was bright, roomy and airy.
Overall, a great stay. Definitely would stay again!

Cons:

Nothing stands out, the only thing I would mention is there was only 2 disabled spaces but there was a drop off zone outside tge front door. Eaay access with slope if needed and automatic door.

A lovely treat
Pros:

Lovely location and very clean

Cons:

Some maintenance needed in the spa (jacuzzi and shower) and our bathroom (shower screen didn’t close properly so it leaked onto floor) but certainly didn’t spoil our trip

Quiet but showing its age
Pros:

Very friendly staff. Large rooms and very quiet. Lovely surroundings.

Cons:

We had two issues with our room: the door wouldn't double lock and one of the bedside lamps didn't work. We reported these to Reception on our first morning but neither were fixed by the time we left 2 days later.
The furniture is showing its age and could do with updating.

Helpful, clean, relaxing, perfect 👌
Pros:

Everything was perfect. My kids and I travel with our dog in a campervan generally, so this was super posh for them. View from the room, the facilities, the staff. They even brought me down a croissant early to my room when I told them I was disabled and needed a little something to line my tummy before taking my medication. Extremely dog friendly too. Will definitely come back!

Cons:

I can't think of anything 10/10!

Came to visit my daughter - should have stayed in her University flat which was cleaner.
Pros:

The staff were lovely, and so apologetic about the terrible state of repair, cleanliness and condition of what was once, probably, quite a nice hotel.

Cons:

£174 for one night in what was nothing more than a hostel. Ripped carpets, peeling wall paper, damp walls, stained furniture. Our bath was rusty, so someone had tried painting it with gloss paint, which had then just peeled. We complained, and got moved to a “luxury room” which was actually just as bad. Having seen the state of the pool and changing areas we didn’t stay for the breakfast we had paid for as we had zero confidence about any sort of hygiene. Avoid this place….. how this claims 4* is beyond me. I wish I could upload more than four photos - you are missing out on seeing the peeling wallpaper, the damp walls and the pool changing rooms.
