Nice and close to the city .
The hotel itself was fine, but the people staying there were quite strange. Also, the bar staff were rude.
It’s in probably the best location in the city, walking distance to center
The spa facilities were overcrowded, the showers were out of order, no one could shower either before or after sauna or pool.
Lovely staff
Excellent hotel in beautiful surroundings.
Staff very friendly and efficient. Very good selection of food at breakfast.
Restaurant menu a bit restrictive.
Clean and friendly , great value for money
Lovely site, beautiful building in an attractive area of Sheffield. Very helpful and friendly staff. Limited menu in restaurant but very good quality of food well cooked, presented and served. Very nice cooked breakfast.
Poor selection of beers and whisky in the bar, with two beer taps dry. No malt/premium whisky.
Nothing.
Tired scruffy red carpet as a permanent fixture on arrival was literally a warning flag of the state of affairs that followed.
We paid for a larger suite. This was at the furthest point away from the reception Dow a dreary long corridor that had seen better days decoration wise 30’plus years ago!
The room itself on opening the door smelled musky, which by the evening turned into a sewage smell. This was emanating from the bathroom so the door was kept firmly closed plus having to keep the sliding door open to the outside. The bathroom had NO towel radiator, a first for me at any place(!) so how they can the standard save our environment and hand your towel on the radiator is beyond me. The toilet was place so low as to suitable for a child only. See photos The house cleaner note had her name on it asking for mention so they can get a bonus. Well I’ll name and shame her, as the mold and grime on the shower (see photos) was horrible. The extraction fan had also been neglected.
In the bedroom, the TV had wires hanging everywhere and the wifi was non existent. No excuse in this day and age. The fridge was completely iced over and so ineffective. No eye to detail from the cleaner. Ceiling had cracks with paint coming away just above the bed.
Breakfast was the usual mix expected of a buffet with overcooked sausages, broiled bacon and tasteless scrambled eggs. The fried eggs, cooked en masse were rubbery and hard.
Cheapest jam and butter for the toast.
Overall, the above coupled with ignorant ill
Mannered guests shouting at the tops of their voices in the corridor and banging very loudly on bedroom doors made for one of the worst stays we have had a hotel. Dreadful.
Staff amazing
We were upgraded to a privilege room if I had booked this I would of been really disappointed as very tried needs updating but very clean .
The general atmosphere at the hotel is relaxed and friendly. The grounds are extensive and in good weather are very pleasant for sitting and relaxing.
I personally do not like dogs when enjoying a holiday and inevitably they get amongst your feet and mess up the place.
Being weekend there were other parties and one with particularly noisy DJ.
Great location, good sized rooms, parking
No access to the spa facilities without notice
Wedding on until late without any notice
Nice grounds
Function room let out to anyone that took over the whole hotel. Not a second thought to the paying guest that were using the hotel. Very poor.
