Staff were very helpful from our first arrival to when we left. They made us feel extra special as we had just got married. Coffee machine in the room was brilliant too!
Nothing really.
Staff were exceptional, the room was well made up and the WiFi was decent. Location incredible and I had a nice quiet room on the furthest side of the hotel with a nice garden and view of the racecourse.
My room had cobwebs, smelled a bit and when I ran one of the showers the drains smelled pretty bad. But was easily remedied by using the other one which was fine.

No alcoholic drinks in the bar, bar staff not very friendly
We stayed in a family room which had everything we needed. It was a bit hot even with the air con but the good thing was we could open a window. Theres a pool, gym and hot tub which we used. Lots of space. I liked the bottle refill station too. The location was great with a 40 minute walk to the centre or we caught the No. 4 bus from the bus stop just up the road.
We went to the National Trust next door.
The breakfast was amazing!!! So much choice.
It’s a bit dated, but not enough to be an issue. The air con wasn’t great either.
The location is great and the staff are friendly.
Reception did not have a breakdown of what was included in our room rate and tried to double charge us for breakfast and dog cleaning fee.
It was very noisy until late in the evening with no sound barrier between our room and the neighbouring rooms.

Staff did not tell us the times for breakfast or where it was . We also could not book a table for dinner
The tv on our room had audio description and was unable to be turned off. When asking reception prior to 9pm we were told it had to wait tip tomorrow no other alternatives or anyone who could deal with this for us. Also, do something about the doors slamming at all times. We were next to a connecting corridor and this was constant and disturbing.

The roon needs an update like bathroom and furniture

The window and main door is not properly sealed loads of noise

The breakfast was fantastic. What a selection. Well worth the money.
The room was lovely, but very warm and the air conditioning was not working. We had a fan but wasn't enough. Also the bathroom, the bath was high and difficult to get in and out,also very slippy with no slip mat. Needs to be looked at.
Using as a base to explore York , The pool, jacuzzi and steam rooms were nice, the room and bed were comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful , all around lovely stay.
There was a lot of crashing and banging of doors all through the night !
