On arrival always smells amazing. Great location for sport events. A simple thing but thank goodness for the blinds it makes the rooms dark to sleep and get a sneeky sleep in .
Not enough power points. Only 1 on oneside of bed. Also checkin time has changed2pm was such a better time 3pm is too late .
Enjoyed our stay, clean, friendly and excellent location.
Location was okay.
Close to venue & eateries.
Staff were polite & friendly.
On-street parking was a few hundred metres away.
A very uncomfortable bed that tilted to one side. Twin beds that were pushed together and unable to be moved apart due to fixed bedside shelves.
Lighting inside the main room and bathroom was inadequate for confidently applying makeup (low wattage bulbs).
Openable windows were good to get some fresh air, but one mechanism was broken so it was really hard to close again.
There were no plain black teabags, only coffee, chamomile and green jasmine tea. Upon querying this I was told they provide a 'random selection' of tea, but obviously not the most common type in the world!
There are two Ibis hotels close to each other which is confusing, and this Ibis hotel is located at the same site as Novotel, also confusing.
Directional signage is poor, both inside and outside the hotel for facilities.
At $255/night it was terribly expensive for what you got - bad beds, tiny dingy room, no normal teabags, no biscuits, etc. The really cheap motels in outback NSW are much better equipped and more comfortable. Essentially you are paying for the location only. Could have slept better in the car for $40 parking fee.
Decent priced rooms for the area it is in. The train stations is much closer than others would think and there was a bunch of restaurants and cafes near by too if you didn't want to eat at the hotel. And the window can be opens which is nice.
The staff are very nice too and natural have some insight of the areas around the hotel. They gave me some great recommendations, if i was staying longer im sure i would have gone to some of the recommendations.
It wasn't 100% clear that the side exit door closes from 9pm to 7am. Not on the website or on the information pack they give you. I understand it was for safety in thew end. I just wanted like, a clearly heads up. If you reached the door after 9pm like i did, you'll see another sign telling you to walk to the front. When you walk to the front, there wasn't a obviously place to scan my key card to get back in? and I got very lucky that someone walking OUT open the door.
The walls can be a bit thin sometimes. I was able to hear the people next to my room having 'fun'. But that might be because of the guests or the layout of the floor.
Lastly, finding the underground car park was so tricky to find. (Not finding parking space but the actually entrance) I did park off to the side and went inside to ask about it. I do wish it was listed properly on their website.
Perfect location, staff were friendly, clean, very comfortable bed. Nice and quiet
Confusing as there are 2 ibis hotels at Olympic Park. Also no guarantee for parking and you can’t pre book.
Great place and very helpful staff
Great location for what i needed and priced well. Bed was fine.
A microwave would of been helpful. Heating didn't really seem to work well. 26 Degrees and was really cold. Shower height far too low.
The bar and reception area was lovely.
I booked a twin room as I was staying with my brother and the bed was set up as a double bed so had to ask for that to be changed. The space between the beds were about 30cms as the bedside tables were stuck to the wall, not enough distance between the single beds. There was no toilet brush or bin the the bathrooms
Location
Very nice hotel ! Clean, comfortable and spacious. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, even gave my 3 kids a little stuffed toy.
Nothing
It was close to Olympic Park
Two fire alarms went off while we were there on the same day!
Room was clean and staff were amazing.
The venu seemed to be hosting an event and there was a lot of very loud potentially intoxicated people that made it very hard to sleep.
