Location amazing, staff very friendly and helpful
No air conditioning and it was quite loud at night
Location and value. Room and breakfast were just fine for what we needed. I already read reviews before booking..
Below our window, people were drinking and chatting till 3 am. Many hotels tell their guests to be quiet after 11.
I also wasn't aware refurbishment was going on. It's an old hotel so I didn't have high expectations but was nonetheless happy.
I liked the hotel stayed there before but this time was different looked very tired and bar was closed
Needs a revamp
The staff were very efficient. A special mention for Dave who was so helpful. The breakfasts were good.
It was a heatwave while we were there. No air conditioning so our room was really hot. The hotel really needs re modernising and updating.
The reception staff were very nice and the breakfast room staff were nice too.
The bar girl, whose name I didn't catch was ok
Unfortunately I feel that the term Deluxe double" was totally mis sold to me...it was far from deluxe..the bed was comfy and the bedding was nice as were the towels. The cleaners came everyday and dud what they do.
However, the furniture, carpet, decor left a lot to be desired and was incredibly dire.
The windows were filthy...and our corridor constantly smelled of cannabis.
Half the hotel was closed and a member of staff told us that there weren't many guests due to this the reason being it was being updated ...so no other rooms available to move to.
The breakfast room was quite some way from reception and again that room had seen better days, the breakfast was I poor, cold and we skipped the last two days, coffee was horrible.
The bar so to speak was part of the reception, dark, you could barely see what they'd got and closed at 10.
The weather whilst staying was 35 degrees, we were left 2 bottles of water in the room.kn the first day, that was it, surely in such conditions and £600 plus for 4 nights you'd expect water.
Water was available in small.plastic cups in reception.
There was no air con but I knew that, but the windows only opened 3 inches I know about health n safety but again surely there should be exceptions and the catch at the top should open...the room was 42 degrees on my phone, we couldn't sleep.
Workmen arrived promptly at 8am, drilling, shouting etc so no chance of a lie in.
If there was a management team they were not visible....which again is poor.
Why this Hotel stands out from many others locally is the excellence of the front desk . Welcoming , warm , very professional and most polite . Your staff are a credit to you . Ill certainly be a repeat guest . Thank you .
Im perfectly satisfied with the service , the reception on arrival and ease of departure .
The location was superb. The staff were very welcoming. The comfort was good.
The hotel is very outdated and could do with some TLC. Cleanliness could be improved. There was a dripping hot tap in the main ladies toilet that clearly had been dripping for days. There was dust on the curtains in the breakfast room. The choice for breakfast was very limited. No museli, no decaf tea and only one choice of eggs. The sausages were not cooked enough, not browned.
Just that it was in front of the sea
The worst hotel for the price paid
Dirty smelly and we had to stay out until 2 am because was sooooooo hot
We had a fan but nothing asked for a second one
Did not change anything
Next day i had to leave at 7
Was an absolute torture , i passed an anxiety episode because i had to sleep but u couldn’t
I actually require refund because was insanely bad
To not mention so smelly
The ceiling was nearly falling
The staff were very nice, our room was a great size. The location was the best, short distance into Brighton town centre and over the road to the beach 🏖️
It’s been refurbished at the moment, so it was a little tired in places.
Location and staff
Lack of air conditioning in a heatwave
Location very good, building history very interesting
Facility not perfect, some room including the room I stay is not accessed directly by lift, after the lift, I still need to use the stairs which is not convenient if you have large luggage’s
Close to beach
While it was somewhat dated, that was part of the charm of the hotel.
La sympathie du personnel. Et le confort du lit, très bon matelas.
Pas du tout comme sur les photos. Tout est vieux. De la moquette partout qui n’a jamais été changé, tachée et qui sent mauvais.
