Location is great
Hotel is very tired, carpets are threadbare, floorboards creak, bathrooms outdated, in the restaurant at breakfast the fruit juice had run out, hot water was empty, pastries stale, no hot vegetarian options
Couldn't fault anything , especially the staff who made us feel very welcome, excellent food , comfortable bed lovely room , amazing old building with lots of history
Big spacious bedroom
Tiny lift
Location Cental Opposite Beach
Staff kind and helpful
Convenient. Oldy worldy. Ceiling fan
Very noisy.
Absolutely nothing. Was awful.
Dirty, smelt of drugs. Bedding and towels were not clean. Room was absolutely filthy. Hotel is very very run down
Location
Lovely room, comfortable bed and loads of hot water for a bath.
No water in room
Bar not open to residents and no option for room service.
Very little on offer at breakfast (we didn't arrive for breakfast until 10am but we were told breakfast was served until 10.30am and had paid in advance for this)
Right on sea front
Hotel is undergoing a refurbishment so half of it closed and was woken early in morning by builders walking past window even tho we were on 4th floor
The hotel is right on tge sea front and the view is lovely
It was very hot and our room had a fan but it didn't cool the room down at all and the place does need modernising.
Leaving to go to another hotel
The major building work with scaffolding across all the exterior walls whilst still paying the full price. The rude, patronising and unsympathetic manager that decided it was more appropriate to give a lecture the customer. The breakfast that had sausages that had gone off and eggs that were held in excess of two hours. Only time I’ve ever thrown up onto the plate at the hotel
There’s no facilities. No Aircon, no fridge, no gym, parking, swimming pools, no facilities at the hotel for an evening meal such as a restaurant or a proper bar (only a tiny bottle bar).
In the room the fan was broken, the television didn’t switch on, it was extremely hot and very noisy with the sound of builders and scaffolders.
I originally booked for 4 nights but I couldn’t stand the general poor quality of this low standard hotel at high a high quality hotel piece. I went down the road to the queens hotel and got an amazing room, breakfast and service at the same price per night as at the Old Shit Hotel
Always stay at the Ship, prime location for everything.
We didn’t know about the refurbishments going on but it won’t put us off
Returning customers - Love the position to The Lanes and other shops/bars/eateries. Fabulous Seaview.
Not alerted in advance to the fact that the hotel was undergoing extensive refurbishment. This impacted parking - one of the reasons for always picking the hotel is that there is usually reasonably priced garage parking & with husband being registered disabled & on oxygen, this has been particularly useful. This time, we needed to use the Lanes carpark at a cost of £44/24hrs. Woken early by scaffolding being unloaded.
Perfect location and very quiet considering where it’s located!
posizione fronte mare
colazione scarsa, mancanza di scelta di prodotti freschi e impossibilità di fare colazione prima delle 8 nel weekend

The hotel was appalling, nothing like its website, like living on a building site? The photos were long out of date, in fact I left 3 days early!!
It was rough, out of date
