4 days in Brighton
Pros:

Loved that I got to experience the "old" hotel with its warren of corridors, squeaky floorboards but ever so friendly staff with advice on where to eat. Hotel is due for renovations soon so think a lotvof character will be lost. Lovely scroll about history of hotel. Brilliant location on seafront and right next to Lanes and pier and pavilion and many restaurants. Loved the sound of the wild sea.

Cons:

It was all great... well not the sausages for breakfast ... but thats because its hard to beat an Irish sausage!

Staff very polite and professional!Location perfect on sea front! Old fashioned hotel and very noisy which is expected b
Pros:

I liked all the very old decor like going back in time.

Cons:

Room very warm, towel rail did not turn off and no fan. Especially being a very warm day (uncomfortable) very noisy but you have to expect that being on the beach front!
Breakfast was ok!
Noticed another table ordering scrambled eggs. Was this an option? As was not highlighted as part of the buffet.

Poor
Pros:

The Location

Cons:

Everything, didn’t feel was clean, the communal toilets were swarming in bluebottles, we had a random toothbrush left on our carpet that had obviously been dropped by the cleaner ( used I add) the makeshift restaraunt was dirty and all the toast was falling on the carpet from the machine, food was lukewarm warm, I could go on.

Don’t come here
Pros:

- reception staff nice and helpful
- staff passing by smiled

Cons:

- checked in and room was stuffy and hot.
- leading up to our room and outside smelt like beer and alcohol split on the floor.
- bed was super uncomfortable and springy.
- windows were dirty
- at 5am we got woken up abruptly due to the bin men taking out the glass bins outside as our windows were open. We weren’t warned about the noise from outside in the morning.
We were hoping we’d catch up on sleep due to all our travelling however the bin men woke us up in an unpleasant way.
- room wasn’t as described
- wouldn’t come again

Pros:

The friendly and helpful people. Especially Delia. She really helped us with maps. Directions. Etc

Cons:

It would have been nice to have tea and coffee from the bar. Especially in the evening while sitting in the beautiful lounge.

Really lovely stay, friendly staff, clean facilities.
Pros:

The staff were very helpful and friendly, particularly the night manager. The hotel has a lot of character and it's in an amazing location.

Cons:

We were there during the heatwave and the rooms were quite stuffy, even with the fan provided. But the hotel is very old and the UK has very few heatwaves, so understand the lack of air con.
