Pros:

Staff were all wonderful, right across from the pier and plenty of shops within walking distance

Cons:

Being so close to everything does put you in the middle of a lot of noise/night time screaming from the streets. Shower was dirty/stained

Pros:

We loved this hotel in Santa Monica!! Perfect location, right across from the beach and pier, nearby so many wonderful restaurants. Beautiful rooms- spacious, comfortable, clean- even wonderfully comfy bathrobes and slippers! We had a gorgeous balcony that we could watch the sunset every night and it was spectacular. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. It was wonderful! Loved this hotel and would stay again next time in Santa Monica!

Nothing... everything was wonderful and we would definitely stay again!!

Good hotel to finish our highway 1 road trip.
Pros:

Good location, on the sea front. Friendly staff. very clean. Used the complementary bikes to ride along Venice beach. Also provided complementary beach towels.

Cons:

The balcony was a disappointment as it overlooked the garage, also an air conditioning unit out side the balcony was noisy. This along with traffic meant we had to keep the door shut.

$100/night hotel for $300/night. Great deal, right?
Pros:

The location is the best thing that this hotel has going for it. It is across from the beach and very close to the pier, shopping, and great restaurants. If you get a room with a balcony facing the beach, that's also nice (but it does cost extra).

Cons:

Here is my list of the negatives, and some may also be common to all the hotels in the area:
1. Rooms are not in great condition. Everything feels dated and old. The hair dryer wouldn't work unless you wiggle the cable a bit. The small refrigerator was pretty useless as it didn't keep anything cold. The sink blew water out as is it was a fire hose.
2. Very noisy. At one point at 10 o'clock at night, someone down the hall started drilling something into the wall.
3. Wifi is terrible. I couldn't hold a meeting on their wifi and I had to switch to my mobile hotspot.
4. This place has almost zero amenities.
5. Parking is only available as valet and it costs $62 a night. This is ridiculous but it seems all hotels take advantage of their clients by charging high prices for parking. What other options do we have?
6. Staff was mediocre. Not asking for a welcoming party, but don't make clients feel as if you could survive without anyone ever buying a room there.
7. For the price, you're better off paying the extra $40 to $60 a night and stay at the other hotels near by that are much more modern and the staff and amenities are worth the cost.
