Well worth a visit.
Pros:

Absolutely loved this hotel. A warm welcome with a glass of sherry - fantastic! Quirky and full of character. Lovely, freshly cooked breakfast. And staff were great! Will be back.

Lovely hotel, great location
Pros:

The hotel was in a great location, close to everything and in a gorgeous square. Very oldy worldy and full of tudor timber. Breakfast was nice and relaxing with continental and cooked options. Shower was great and really powerful. We also had a glass of sherry on arrival ( which must be due to the age of most people at this hotel) never had sherry but it was delicious. Plus we got upgraded to a suite which was really spacious and lovely.

Cons:

If you want modern then this isn't for you, we didnt mind so it was fine. The walls are thin, the floors creeky and the windows i can imagine are thin when its noisy. We were there on a Wednesday night so was quiet anyway. But the hotel ingeneral was lovely.

It's the small details that occasionally matter the most.
Pros:

Location
Ease of access
Breakfast buffet and cooked. Table settings and efficiency of service.
Car park in close facinity- essential in Shrewsbury town centre. Shopping, pubs adjacent to.

Cons:

The water power of the walk-in shower; this is a personal preference and is to be recognised as such.

Pros:

It was centrally located and the staff were friendly and accommodating, apart from one person as we checked out.

Cons:

The hotel seemed tired in appearance and too large for the numbers of guests staying. The main negative was the room directly overlooking the public toilet block. Considering the lack of guests staying, I'm sure a room with a more pleasant outlook could have been found. We were 2 female friends of pension age sharing a room with 2 single beds, and it often feels that had we been a couple, a better room would have been available.

Pros:

I liked how close it was to amenities. I was also able to leave my luggage onceI checked out. There was a large selection at breakfast, both hot and cold. The bathroom toiletries and vanity pack were a nice touch. The concierge service offerings were extensive.

Cons:

The doors to the room and the fact that my room was in the basement. The net curtain was a little shredded.
