This is not a 4 star hotel, they cater for themselves. No aircon in any of the rooms they supply one table desk fan that is not accommodating to the size of the room. There is no pressure in their shower and there restaurants and staff are less the helpful or friendly
Upgraded due to mobility issues. Excellent room with a view.
For us nothing. Cannot fault the hotel or staff.
Clean comfortable
Few loud noises late but not bad
Quiet location, energetic and intelligent staff
More variety for breakfast
Great breakfast....would of liked water in the room and also bathrobe and slippers.... meal at Alexanders very good.....meal in the main restaurant, one enjoyed and the other did not.. steak was awful. Grounds were lovely and the staff were friendly and helpful
The steak.. I did tell them but no apology or anything...he just said its Ribeye and can be fatty.. of the whole piece I possibly had three bites
Staff were lovely. Every where very clean. Beautiful site. Room comfortable
We spent a week in this excellent hotel, which is in a nice quiet location with good views. The management and supervision is first-class, especially the lovely Heather running the front desk and the F&B Manager (sorry didn't get his name), but all staff are trying hard and succeeding. The room (139) was excellent and spotless, and the bed was comfortable. There were a number of eccentricities; none of the following is intended to abstract from my enthusiasm for the hotel. 1) No EV charging. It's 2026! We had to make several trips to Morrisons (2 miles away) to charge. 2) Breakfast was well presented, but limited in choice. In fact rather monotonous by the third morning. OK if you like beaked beans, though. Eggs Benedict (requested by my wife) was refused flat. 3)They don't warm the breakfast plates, even though there is a plate warmer and it works. (I checked). The breakfast chef will cheerfully warm you a plate individually and quickly, but why ... ? 4) What is it with those stupid waistcoats? It's 2026 and everyone's trousers, M & F, nowadays hang at hip level. This leaves three inches of shirt showing below the waistcoat and above the trouser waistband. Loved the stay though, despite all that.
Easily accessible location, plentiful parking, facilities as described . Comfy bed!

Great breakfast, lots of choice and cheerful staff.
Loved the spa pool.
Great location, quiet and extensive gardens. Staff were friendly and helpful, reception booked me in quickly despite arrival of a larger group and were happy to answer any queries throughout my stay. Room very comfortable and clean, looked out over the garden towards the Lake District hills. Service in the bar, and the restaurant at breakfast, was friendly and efficient - good range of choices available for both.
Thoroughly enjoyed the spa pool, quiet both times I swam and changing room spacious with a small dryer for waterlogged costumes - nice feature. I would definately stay at the Castle Green again.

Restaurant in the evening, breakfast fantastic, but evening meal not so good for the price, and the onsite pub food was rubbish.
