The location was incredible and the food amazing
The rooms would need some minor renovations, such as the walls and some pieces of furniture
I visited the hotel and enjoyed latte coffee and a croissant. It’s tasteful and I loved it.
BTW The hotel ambiance is great and the staff are professional.
We stayed at this hotel as part of a post-cruise land package with Amawaterways. The hotel is near the heart of Saigon within easy walking distance to the zoo, presidential palace, Notre Dame cathedral, and main post office. We had a good-sized room on the 17th floor with views of the city. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom spacious with a large walk-in shower. The restaurant had many options and we also used room service which provided our order quickly. There is a roof top pool with views of the city and plenty of seats to relax. The staff was friendly and efficient.
Luxury bedding, towels, coffee machine. Staff super nice. Food and drinks are great. Central location. Lovely dining and bar area.
Every thing, the private check-in/out, a la carte breakfast, cocktails dinner. Staffs were excellent, approachable and helpful. Modern facilities at close proximity to everywhere that we need to go in district 1. Beautiful swimming pool. We used the pool and sauna every day.
Nothing. Thank you Sofitel for a wonderful stay. Will definitely come back and stay here when we're in HCM city again next time.
Had a wonderful few days in this hotel. Lovely room and service. Great breakfast assortment. Highly recommend and very close to key attractions of the city with easy walking distance.
Had a very nice stay at the Sofitel, although it is very busy, with many tour groups, including ours. Very comfortable room, with deliciously soft pillows; however, didn’t particularly appreciate the deep purple decor. The WiFi was a little temperamental, and the lighting system impossible to figure out. Had to unscrew the light bulbs of 2 lamps to turn them off. The restaurant was great, both for breakfast and dinner. The bar in the barbershop on the 3rd floor the best thing in the hotel! Plus, got a great haircut and shave.
Very noisy building work being done in hotel. Our room sounded like a building site.
A card in room apologised for the noise- but it was awful.
Apart from that, lovely hotel, breakfast delicious. Rooftop bar restaurant stand out at night with view of night time Ho Chi Minh
After 2 nights of being totally spoiled at The Hotel des Arts Saigon, we headed for 1 night at the nearby Sofitel Saigon Plaza.
The main public area is large and impressive with fresh flowers and friendly doormen to welcome you.
Check-in was a little uncomfortable as the female member of staff almost immediately started to try and sell me the Explorer subscription. I politely explained I already had a paid for subscription and therefore didn’t want to take another at that time but did say I would read the information she gave me.
We had only just arrived at our room when I received the first of many WhatsApp messages, again from the female at reception listing all the benefits of the Explorer card.
The room itself was very dated. I am not sure who decided on the Black and Purple décor but it was as dark as it sounds. The furnishings were rather scuffed and dented. It was not a room we wanted to spend much time in!
I had stupidly left my jacket at the Hotel des Arts and we asked the concierge if they would mind calling the hotel so we could pick the jacket up later. Once they had done this they asked if we would mention them on Tripadvisor. More than once.
I am (of course) all for praising great & friendly service but this was the 2nd time in less than an hour that we felt slightly pressured during our stay.
We used our drinks vouchers in the Boudoir bar, as it was the only place to get a drink and it has serious Vegas-Vibes, with lots of gold and trimmings everywhere. The male member of staff hardly uttered a word to us but we did get our preferred beverages so I am putting that down as one of the few positives.
We left the next morning to continue our Vietnam adventure and didn’t look back. Quite simply the Sofitel Saigon Plaza is just not for us.
Thank you to Anh Tai at Concierge who went above and beyond the call of duty for me on this trip to Ho Chi Minh City. Thank you for all of your assistance for the recovery of my lost property Tai, much appreciated. Bri
