Reception staff friendly and helpful, room clean, good bed linen and cupboard space. Internet connectivity awful, general maintenance of building poor, management amateur.
The lady at the front desk was fantastic. Staff were friendly and accomodating. Unfortunately, the beds were uncomfortable and the room was small. Though the bathroom was large and beautifully decorated.
We loved this hotel. The rooms are beautiful and the hotel has a tonne of history; it's been well maintained. Views are spectacular. We'll be back.
We only stayed for 1 night while visiting our son at university. We did not use any of the hotel facilities, we checked in late, slept for the night and left fairly early in the morning. It felt an old but nice building, room was nice and clean. The only criticism was the noise. The road by the hotel was fairly busy, late at night and early in the morning, therefore there was a lot of noise coming from outside. Also the floor boards were very old and noisy, every time someone walked pass our room in the hall, we heard them walk and talk very clearly, same from the room above us.
Clean room. Park and ride bus stop conveniently near by. Friendly staff .
Beautiful hotel throughout. Our garden view room was perfect - clean, roomy, nicely decorated. A good balance has been
Always made to feel welcome. Excellent menu options, and the food is always delicious.
Friendly staff. Rooms at the rear of the hotel would benefit from voile curtains for better privacy.
We had a 1 night stay with our daughter (aged 18) in a family room. The room was perfect. Lovely, friendly staff. We have stayed here before and would definitely recommend.
A 1-night stay while our daughter moved into her university accommodation. We have stayed here before. Only a 10 minute walk into the centre. We knew from a previous visit that you have to get a parking space early, so we did, and then checked in later. Very helpful, friendly staff.
Everything was lovely and at a great price too. Nice staff, comfy good sleep, beautiful hotel and breakfast was delicious .
Very pleasant stay. Hotel is of a good standard. Very convenient for bus too and from city centre.
Lovely hotel, staff friendly & very helpful. Food was great.
Room was clean & had everything we needed. The fans were much appreciated as it was very warm when we stayed.
Loved our stay here. It’s a hotel with a bit of character and personality which is a nice change from some of the bland chain hotels. V comfortable and quiet rooms, friendly staff and a really delicious and well priced breakfast.
We had a nice three night stay in Bath. Our room was very comfortable and we had a nice patio. It was not completely private, but we were able to keep the patio door open and let in some fresh air. The rooms are very spread out and we were far from the front desk. There are many short staircases, which were a slight problem with heavy luggage. We ate a good dinner in the restaurant one night. The hotel is at the top of a steep hill (for walking or driving) and about .75 miles from the main part of Bath. This could be a real challenge for those who have limited mobility, are elderly, or have small children. Overall, it was a nice, older hotel.
Would highly recommend this establisment to anyone. Very helpful staff, very clean and good parking, although as with most hotels it did cost extra. If you do walk to the hotel, be aware that Bath is more hilly than you think. If you are less mobile, there is a bus service that drops you at the door but everything was close enough for us to walk. Dinner snd breakfast were outstanding both in the quality and service.
Really nice to stay in a hotel with character. Beautiful building, updated sympathetically. Professional staff, excellent service. Allocated a beautiful room with bay window overlooking Bath. Spotlessly clean too. Only negative is that it is a uphill walk from the city. However there is the option to get the 31 bus or taxi from the city.
Heading down to the SW. Wanted an overnight stopover and fancied bath. Lansdown Grove looked attractive and fitted the bill. We certainly weren’t disappointed and would stay again. And would possibly make it a longer stay. Would request a front room next time.
Pleasant hotel who went the extra mile
