Garner Hotel Cologne Porz - Airport by IHG

Upon arrival, the lady at the reception cannot comunicate even a little bit in English and she gave us a wrong room. We booked a premium room with 3 single beds and she has randomly gave me a one queen bed room. Even after I showed her my confirmation with proof, she asked me come back in two hours, she need to ask another staff responsible for this booking. This is conpletely ridicious because we had showed her the proof on our phone written down 'premium room with 3 single bedroom". She took a photo on my phone and ask me to come back in two hpurs.
When we che k out, it funally come a guy who able to speak English so we ask if he can make a small adjustment for compansation but he said no, he said the only thing he can do is to tell his manager what had happened. He didnt even apologize for the mistKe they have made. And he said you can made complaint if you like. Clearly they don' t care about their business.

For the room, it has no charging ports. Asked for help in the reception, she just said "no". Glasses are dirty with food stick on it. The heater is broker with all wires ypu can see through. No bath tub for a premium, show curtain is old and dirty and too small for it. The who room is old, dirty and dated.

All in all, I will never come back to this hotel again and I strongly not recoment anyone to book this hotel.

Netter Mann an der Rezeption, Betten waren gemütlich.

Oda da mutfak yok, tv de dijital platformlar yok, sadece karasal yayın, banyo ve çarşaflar iyi temizlenmemişti, insan kılları mevcuttu. Personel iyiydi. Lobide ki kahve makinasında süt asla yoktu, sadece sade kahve içebildik.

Goede ligging naar Keulen centrum, vriendelijk personeel, goed ontbijt, douche was minder, steeds mega heet en dan weer koud

Tout confortable. Pas de bruits d avion.parking extérieur au choix.

Zimmer sauber, Größe angemessen. Licht im Bad war leider defekt. Sehr hellhörig, man hört jedes Wort auf dem Flur und die Schritte im Zimmer über einem. Die Türen fallen sehr laut ins Schloss. Personal an Rezeption wirkt etwas überfordert und unprofessionell

Staff was very courteous, room was OK, parking was aweful for 10 euro a night. Hotel is old and it shows.

It was really clean and nice, only bad part is one of the cleaners just merged in to my room without even knocking, other than that it was really great

The rooms are clean and comfortable, my room view also included the rhine river which was a big plus for me.

Convenient location and friendly staff. Good breakfast and decent for the price. It's not luxurious, but clean enough. Only down was the wifi would reach our room at the 4th floor.

None of the staff seemed to have access to even the most basic items such as trash bags or cutlery. They could not provide extra pillows. The tv did not work - only one channel and it could not be adjusted. The wifi was terrible, not staying connected or even connecting to begin with. The lamps in our room were not working. When they moved us to a different room, we still had the same issues. Staff would leave notes for the next day to help address issues but nothing was ever addressed, even after multiple attempts on our part. The water temperature in the shower was not good, it would go from one extreme to the other without us making any adjustments to the knob. One minute it was freezing cold and the next scalding hot. There was also poor communication, unable to understand English or even German in some cases. We do not recommend this hotel at all. We will not be going back.

Beautiful location at the river. Nice breakfast, friendly administration.

This place is okay. Good room, good price. The only thing I can complain about is how the shower floods easily.

Central Position

Everything was fine. Breakfast was good. Problem was elevator that was not working. There was not coffee machine in breakfast. Area around property was fine and full of restaurants and caffee. Thanks!

Hotel basic, but did what it said on the tin. Room was dated, but spacious & clean. Breakfast was very good with numerous choices. We stayed one night before catching our flight the following day. Great location for the airport, bus station 7 min walk, with buses every 30 mins to the airport. Hotel provided a list of ‘restaurants’ for evening meal, but mostly fast food type places or no longer existed. Finally found an Italian, La Fornace which was very good except German bank card or cash only accepted! Caused us a problem as we only had visa/maestro cards & very little cash. Managed to scrabble just enough E’s & £’s, not very good, no sign or advice beforehand!

When we checked in they would not accept any credit card, only my husbands joint bank account debit card. The full amount was charged up front.
The hotel was 17 kilometres from Cologne city centre Xmas market.
The hotel was completely unsuitable for my disabled daughter. We had to negotiate stairs to our room with no one available or willing to help with our cases. When we got in to the room bathroom door would not close the clock was broken off the wall the radio did not work. No amenities in the room. Unsafe plugs and lights!

We went back down stairs and told them we were checking out in the morning asked for refund for unused nights their answer was has to go through Expedia. Expedia have to date not given any credit the communication with me had been terrible and I will
Never use the again. Do not use this hotel even though it comes up at the top of expedias search list for hotels in Cologne city centre
