I had a thoroughly wonderful stay at this hotel! The whole team was incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel welcome and at home straight away. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and offered a great selection for a perfect start to the day.

The relaxed atmosphere was particularly lovely – you can really switch off and unwind here. The pool deck also offers a stunning view, which makes your stay even more special. Another great bonus is that you can borrow a surfboard free of charge.

I would come back any time and can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to everyone!

Achei que o serviço poderia ser melhor. O atendimento ao hospede de maneira geral. O hotel é uma balada a noite, o som fica isolado, mas mesmo assim nao evita a vibração nos quartos.

Great value for a family stay in Tamarindo
Pros:

I vacation in Costa Rica often but had never been to Tamarindo. I’ve done all inclusive in the past (Riu Palace and Planet Hollywood). I booked Maravida less than a week before my stay. The reviews talked a lot about the loud parties on the weekend. I was there midweek and we had no issues with noise. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was firm and comfortable. The air conditioning was very much appreciated. The bathroom was on the smaller side but the shower had sufficient hot water and good water pressure. The complimentary breakfast was good - lots of fresh fruit, plantains, gallo pinto and made to order omelets for me, pancakes for my sons. The pool is on the smaller side but the swim up bar was nice. I thought the $10 virgin pina colada was pricey but my sons enjoyed them. We could have eaten lunch / dinner at the hotel but there were plenty of restaurants on the strip right outside the hotel with lots of different cuisines. We had lunch and dinner at restaurants on the strip. The strip definitely had a Florida or US beach town vibe. The beach attracts surfers. The water is shallow. The waves are great. Lots of families enjoying the water, including mine.

In all, I would stay ant Maravida again. It’s a great value for the price. I rate it a 4.0+/5 stars. The hotel was more rustic than modern. It’s not a beachfront. You have to cross the street to the beach and there are a lot of stairs. I read all of this in the reviews so I knew what to expect. To get to 5 stars I would expect the hotel to be more modern, less expensive bar options and on the beach.

Me gustó el desayuno. Los jardines y las áreas públicas tienen muy buen mantenimiento, dan un toque bonito.

Cons:

El personal es un poco indiferente. Es necesario que el cliente al ingresar cuente con una buena guía y recepción. Falta seguridad.

In die Jahre gekommen. Für weiss der Teufel was alles muss man Verzichtserklärungen resp. Einverständnis unterzeichnen.
Pros:

Lage & Personal. Pool & Frühstück.

Cons:

Zimmer benötigen dringend eine Renovation. Sind ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen. Betten mit grausamer Holzkonstruktion und nur von einer Seite zugänglich. Keine Steckdose, resp. nur eine gefährliche defekte in der Nähe des Bettes = Gebrauch des CPAP Gerätes unmöglich. Bettgestell macht fürchterlich Lärm bei der kleinsten Bewegung. Bettlaken nicht sehr appetitlich. Sauberkeit könnte besser sein. Für alles mögliche muss man Verzichtserklärungen unterschreiben, dies macht einem bei der Ankunft fast Angst und misstrauisch. Waren zum Glück nicht am Wochenende dort, daher war’s ruhig. Ein zweites mal würden wir sicher nicht mehr dorthin.

The monkey club IS a dance club and it is the facility at the hotel. It is not separate. Be aware you will not have acce

I like the pool and the friendly staff! Plus, the hell are monkeys came over in the afternoon at the lower trees by check-in.

Cons:

I didn’t like that. It wasn’t made clear that the entire bar area and the pool area gets shut down and turned into a nightclub. At the hotel where you’re staying. It’s very loud and goes on until like 2:30 AM. I thought it was a bar next-door. It’s not it is the hotel shut down it’s facilities. You no longer have access to them and turns it into a public dance club. I think this should be made more clear.
