Maravida Boutique Hotel & Resort

I had a wonderful stay at Maravida….The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of downtown Tamarindo, making it easy to explore the area. The room was large, and kept comfortably cool with excellent air conditioning. No hot water but I didn’t mind, but I understand it can bother some people.

The staff were welcoming and always happy to help. Breakfast was buffet style and pretty good, not to mention that if you don’t like the buffet options you can order some la carte options for free. Stayed in 4 different places in Tamarindo already, it was the only one that I had freshly squeezed orange juice (not store bought) and for me this is gold! Starting your day with a big ass breakfast in Tamarindo, where the food prices are crazy, is just amazing!

Pool area was pretty great with nice sunbeds and umbrellas. Another great perk is that the hotel has a partnership with the surf shop next door (Salty Sols) where guests can have discounted surf lessons and also can use some surf equipment free of charge. Highly recommend their surf lessons btw, Eric is such a cool guy and a great surf instructor.

Friday nights can be lively, with noise carrying on until around 2 a.m., but this was something we knew in advance and it wasn’t an issue for me.

Overall, a fantastic place to stay in Tamarindo, and one I would happily stay again.

The staff were exceptional. Justin, at reception, was very informative and helpful. All the staff were great and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. The pool was fabulous, 3m deep! Unheard of.

Be aware that the restuarant and the pool area are used for functions during the evening. The shows and nightclub event (once a week) can be loud. We used earplugs and it was fine.

The hotel has switched over from a Best Western to a privately owned hotel called the Maravida. It was an awesome stay. Rooms are clean and quaint, and the price point is just right. Some small things went cuckoo, like the TV’s had to be reset, and the fans in a couple rooms didn’t work, but the the WiFi and power always were great. The staff was awesome as well. Always happy and attentive… that was the best part. Oh… and if you stuff yourself at breakfast, then you won’t have to eat the rest of the day!

Amazing stay at Maravida Resort and Hotel. Location was walking distance to central Tamarindo. Room was spacious and clean with good A/C. Staff was super friendly. Breakfast each morning was consistent and very easy. Pool was a great way to cool off each afternoon. You also had the option of enjoying food / drink while seated in the pool. Wed - Sat night they had live entertainment just outside the pool deck, with varying shows with talented singers and performers. Great place to stay in Tamarindo!

This has the makings of a great hotel but I think they need to decide whether it is a Hotel suitable for families & couples or a nightclub. We were 2 couples aged over 50. most days we enjoyed relaxing by the pool & often had the pool to ourselves. Lots of areas to relax in the shade. pool area very clean. nice breakfast. 5 minute walk across the road to the beach. 10 minute walk along the road to the main strip.The rooms are a little tired - not much space to put 2 suitcases, no hanging space, towels a little grey , frayed & old
BUT on several occasions the sun loungers were being cleared up around us at 4.45 pm so they could prepare for their evening events. VERY loud music til 2.30 am on both Thursday & Friday nights. Yes you sign a waiver for the Friday night about the noise but not the Thursday!

I had a thoroughly wonderful stay at this hotel! The whole team was incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel welcome and at home straight away. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and offered a great selection for a perfect start to the day.

The relaxed atmosphere was particularly lovely – you can really switch off and unwind here. The pool deck also offers a stunning view, which makes your stay even more special. Another great bonus is that you can borrow a surfboard free of charge.

I would come back any time and can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to everyone!
