Great hotel not a great check in
Pros:

Very clean and smelled nice, the breakfast was exceptional as was the lady who kept everything very well topped up all the time. This was the best breakfast I have had travelling through France.

I had dinner in the restaurant and the food was simple but exceptional, I had radishes with brown butter (I cannot tell you how good the sauce was) pate and salmon with potatoes. Absolutely delicious.

The room was very clean and comfortable, quite dark and wall hangings a bit strange (weird birds) .

Cons:

I didnt like the check in, I was given the wrong room, someone else with same first name, she insisted I hadn’t ordered breakfast (I had) and had to come back to sort which was annoying as I was tired.

Then I wanted to make a cup of tea with the one breakfast tea bag, no milk, I go to reception to ask for milk, why they ask, they say in France we drink it black, they get me it but say they cant do it again. Then I look on the particulars of the hotel and it says condensed milk is available. 🤔plus you made me feel I was being awkward and odd asking for milk.

Then in reception I see a claim that if there is anything wrong, tell us and we will sort it. Oh and greeting people in reception with big computer screens hiding you, well its a barrier. The restaurant staff and breakfast lady were exceptional or I would have marked much lower.

I am unsure if I was treated badly because I was english or because I was old, either way your reception staff need to go on a training course. Its a shame as the hotel was great.

Alright stay
Pros:

Staff is really nice, and great location!

Cons:

So there is an incident. When I try to get back to the hotel during the night, the front door is locked, which is understandable for security. But I pushed the interphone; no one responded. And I followed the information flyer on the door and called the number it provided; it went to the automatic answering system. In the end, I have waited 10-20 mins to finally get someone to answer the front door.
