Breakfast was outstanding. Both the courtyard and the seafaring seating places were beautiful.
Fantastic character hotel, with all the old school charm and modern luxuries. Staff were fantastic and even provided us a complimentary room upgrade. Would definitely recommend staying here.
Ligging, charmant hotel, prachtige en grote kamers
Niets
Lovely , central , great staff
Nothing
The breakfast is delicious and has a great selection. The location of the hotel is perfect.
The noise level in the courtyard at night is extreme and the rooms aren't very sound proof. There was a large birthday table booked in the early evening that went on into the late night. The noise was very loud and my suggestion would be that in future large tables should be moved inside the hotel restaurant if they are going to carry on until late into the evening for the comfort of the paying guests. Not all the amenities were replaced after cleaning the room each day (sugar, coffee pods and face towels), I know the hotel was busy due to the Argus cycle race but these are minor things that shouldn't be overlooked.
The breakfast was great, and the hotel was pretty and comfortable.
1. False advertising in the photos. The pool doesn't have a mountain backdrop, nor is it on the water
2. Apparently, I contracted Norovirus, and I told one of the managers that I thought I had gotten food poisoning, and literally, he just shrugged. No, I’m sorry, no, “Can I get you something for the diarrhea?”, and no mention that Norovirus is prevalent in Cape Town.
3. The location is not that great.
The breakfast surpass my expectation.
I loved my room, the restaurant, the convenience to explore.
All the staff were wonderful. The rooms were beautifully decorated, modern and comfortable. The inner courtyard used for breakfast was stunning and the all food we had delicious, with an incredible breakfast buffer. The pool area was well maintained and the local area surrounding the hotel great for taking a walk or a run along the coast line. The hotels shuttle service for short journeys was also much appreciated.
Nothing really. Only thing would be that the water bottles provided were plastic and small. Maybe environmentally the hotel could replace these with glass and provide larger bottles in the rooms for example.
Stayed 5 nights in Feb 2025. We loved pretty much everything. I guess top of the list was breakfast - epic. Service was great. There were no negatives really, just a great experience.
Everything was great
From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make our trip truly memorable. We were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary room upgrade, which made our stay feel even more special.
Breakfast was fantastic, with a generous spread that catered to everyone. There was a great selection of continental options as well as a variety of delicious hot breakfast dishes each morning. The location is perfect — close to the V&A Waterfront, Sea Point, and so many great restaurants and cool spots, making it ideal for exploring the area. The complimentary shuttle service was an added bonus and made getting around so easy and convenient.
The service throughout was exceptional — every team member was warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to ensure we had the best experience possible.
A bit busy if looking for quiet hotel might not be for you
Beautuful boutique hotel on the sea front.
Lovely decor throughout.
Staff really friendly and attentive
Handy shuttle to V&A waterfront.
Private parking.
Good breakfast choices.
City tour bus stops outside.
Heated pool
nothing
The hotel is absolutely beautiful, it felt like I was in Capri. The Architecture is one of the best I've seen in Cape Town, the flow is pure Mastery. The room was colourful and comfortable, the bathroom size made the living experience even more luxurious. The location is perfect! It is so central to all the places I enjoy dining and great for outdoor walks / runs! The waiter's at Harvey's were friendly and gave good service. The breakfast was scrumptious however the staff were abit aloof. The receptionist named Lonke offered outstanding service.
We were unable to watch the Premier League this weekend because the hotel's DSTV channels that showcase Premier League and La Liga were not working. When I enquired about it I was told that management don't work on the weekend hence the problem cannot be solved. Surely management should work on the weekend considering that this is the hospitality industry and weekends may be busier than weekdays? My checkin experience was a disaster and leaves much to be desired, I was treated poorly by a scornful receptionist named Phillip who never actually assisted me with my paperwork but took the liberty to make remarks about payment. I ignored his comments at the time, but then he proceeded to mock me the following day to his colleagues that were gathered around the reception counter like it was a bar. I managed to hear this outburst as I was coming down the stairs. I am appalled by Phillips behaviour, it seems that some of the staff are also left speechless by his attitude and behaviour. This is just a personal preference but nothing to really complain about, I think that the the gowns and slippers in the room could be more luxurious considering everything else that is being offered by this hotel and the price you pay to stay there.
