Murder Mystery evening
Pros:

Booked a Murder Mystery evening at the hotel with friends.
Great evening - very entertaining but the surprise of the evening was the three course meal which was fabulous.
All homemade - delicious and very hot. Very substantial - would definitely come back just for the food!!
The only downside for us was that the room the event was held in was quite cold and didn’t really warm up- but overall a good evening.

Pros:

Perfect location for a concert at the pavilion. Upgraded to a sea room which was lovely. Comfy bed

Cons:

The plug sockets were really hard to get to, you have to move furniture around just to plug something in.

Light was constantly flickering in the bathroom above the mirror which became quite irritating and the bath didn’t look very clean. Few little touches were needed but overall was worth the money that was paid.

It was my birthday love Southend loved the show we went to see but wouldn’t stay here again
Pros:

Loved the seafront location and close to cliff vill pavilion

Cons:

Tired dated wallpaper ripped in bedroom chipped tiles in bathroom water very very hot shower went cold then very hot then cold again. Breakfast wasn’t good smoked bacon not everyone likes this so either have both or put a sign up to say it’s smoked sausages were undercooked you could see the sausage eat through the skin and tasted awful. Bed was very hard and dipped in middle never had such a bad nights sleep. We was on 3rd floor and our room was inbetween fire exit doors opposite a fire escape where the door had obviously dropped as there was a gapping gap and made it freezing.
Stairs bowed in middle and on my way out I actually fell down three steps.

Fully met expectations. Probably the best option in Southend for seafront activities
Pros:

Seafront location. Traditional comfortable hotel. Spacious room. Good firm bed

Cons:

Some room details could improve with attention. Reported direct to hotel. Not significant

Not for light sleepers.
Pros:

Breakfast and staff were very nice. Locations was great and very easy to get around from

Cons:

There is basically no sound proofing. So we were awake all night due to the people in the room above us walking around (honestly sounded like they were stomping about until 2am) and then woken again early in the morning (6am) by people in the room next to us talking. If someone flushed a toilet the pipes were super loud. It was just not sound proofed at all

Great location - basic but clean & tidy.
Pros:

Good location - parking very easy.
Plenty of communication from hotel along the booking process.

Cons:

Rooms are clean but basic and rather dated - could do with an update. More could be made of this beautiful hotel with investment.
We had a sea view which was nice - tho our window handle was broken.
