the staff , food and accommodation was excellent
Location central to where we were going
On check in I was charged €60 deposit, this was cancelled and I was charged for the full stay again €206.10having already paid booking.com the full amount a number of days before check in. I still haven’t been reimbursed, and when I rang the accounts dept was given no satisfaction. Was down a lot of money I didn’t have which I needed at the time to pay for things. Very sneaky from the hotel/staff/policy maker. Made out it was €60, cancelled the €60 and charged me for full stay which had already been paid for. Still awaiting refund, have had to raise the charge with my bank
Amazing service from Eoin Sophie and last but definitely not the least Niamh they deserve a pay raise absolutely class people very grateful to have been served by them solid 6 stars if I could
Breakfast was very good lots of choice
Myself, my partner and teenage son spent two nights in a balcony suite for New Year's Eve and I have to say we had a fantastic stay from start to finish.
The staff we dealt with were warm, friendly and accommodating (special shout out to Eisel - not sure if that's spelled correctly! - in the bar, who was so friendly and professional in the midst of a very busy night!)
The room itself was beautiful, with a gorgeous view of the courtyard and fountain at the front of the hotel. The bed was soft, spacious and cosy and we slept like logs. Only complaint was the pillows were a bit too soft for our liking (although I accept pillow firmness is a personal preference). We also couldn't get the fire working in the room, which would have added a lovely extra festive touch.
We had dinner at the bar in the evening, which was delicious, as was the cocktail I ordered with it and we had breakfast in bed the next morning which was also very tasty.
All in all, we had such a lovely stay, we would happily book again for next year!
Breakfast was excellant and our evening meal was delicious.
Staff were very helpful and friendly also.
Would highly recommend this lovely hotel.
I honestly can't find anything.
Stayed 2 nights over NYE. Room was fine but heating was very loud and the bathroom is very dated - lots of plaster holding broken tiles together. Our nights sleeps were disturbed by children belonging to a family who were allowed run up and down the hallways banging on doors while screaming. I rang reception twice and was told someone would call me back but never happened. Have to assume the hotel were aware of issues and had received complaints as when I was checking out I wasn’t even asked how the stay was. I did raise it at reception again buy they weren’t interested in addressing the complaints. The grounds are lovely but I wouldn’t waste my money here again .
Stayed there as I had my graduation on the Saturday morning in UCD. Hotel very near UCD. Perfectly located
Expensive to stay there.
The fire alarm went off during the night. We all had to exit the building. False alarm.
Thought we would get a refund of some sort but nothing.
Looks really nice on the outside but the rooms are terrible no fridge my 8 year old son got trapped in the toliet for about 15-20 minutes my wife stood on a carpet Tac it Pearced throw the skin the new year dinner £175 per person I have had a better meal out of McDonalds will never be back
Not a 5star hotel ! Very poor experience in this hotel after paying a lot of money to stay expecting 5star treatment for New Year’s Eve what we got was substandard . Food in the bar more like 1 star , waiting 35 mins to receive wrong order , Caesar smelt of fish and I didn’t eat it . Children in the bar running around came over three times to our newborn baby’s buggy resulting in waking her up , nothing done by management to stop this , child had to be pulled physically away by its parents , Spoke to two managers and all I got was offered a drink, poor management in this hotel clearly could deal with a complaint and effectively defuse it , several others leaving over the guests which they clearly couldn’t manage . Went to the room and children running up and down banging on our doors woke the baby AGAIN , called manager to the room again nothing done to improve our stay , very noise till the early hours of the morning .
Big ordeal to get breakfast totally not family orientated hotel my buggy was a big burden to the female manager who clearly couldn’t cope with a busy hotel for breakfast . Again left waiting for everything .
Refunded a quarter of the price of the stay which is just not good enough after such a poor stay . Absolutely not a 5 star hotel
Leaving absolutely exhausted from this hotel never to stay again .
I loved the incredible Christmas atmosphere that prevailed in the hotel. It was warm, cosy and festive.
And I had an incredible view from the window.
