The location.
The room smelled musty.The floor in the bathroom was never cleaned, long hairs all over the floor. Toilet paper was not re-plenished, garbage behind dresser, package of crackers on the floor under the curtains, carpets in the room were flithy. Pillows sucked, went flat like a pancake, which caused me to wake up with my shoulders aching. Lady at the desk was not pleasant due to an error on THEIR end. Booked room for 2 nights, they only showed me down for 1 night, took me arguing with her in order to get it fixed. Breakfast sucked, never had coffee. They have a lot of improving to do in order to get me to be a return customer. The old saying; You get what you paid for, falls true to this establishment. Do not recommend! 😖
Country Inn and Suites never disappoints.
Gina did an excellent job at checkin. We liked the king suite, especially the fan in the LR. It was the first time we had a fan! We also liked having two televisions.
There were good choices for breakfast.
We liked the close proximity to the Bickelhaupt Arboretum.
We did have to report that the shower was not operating and they responded appropriately.
We wish we could have gotten an accessible room. It would be so much safer if the showers in all rooms had a grab bar.
Also the toilets are TOO low

Room had a bad smell, breakfast was very disappointing.
Bed, floors, hard surfaces, and furniture were all filthy. Shower shoes required not only in the shower, but anywhere else you’d like to walk if you didn’t want your feet to end up covered in who knows what.. one of the nastiest hotels I have seen.

The beds were comfortable, the air conditioning worked and the breakfast was good.
The first room we had smelled of cat urine, got moved to another room that smelled. Wry musty the entire stay and the carpet was disgusting. The hotel seems very old. The evening counter person that checked us in was somewhat unfriendly. There was a housekeeper the next day sitting outside by the front door smoking cannabis. And the weekend breakfast didn’t start until 7am so we only got to enjoy it one day.
Everything was dried out. Nothing was fresh there was hardly any food when we went.
You couldn't find the person that was doing the breakfast to get food. I have been in many of hotels and this was the worst breakfast buffet I have seen.
Great stay! Friendly staff! Beds are comfortable and hotel was clean! Breakfast was also delicious. Better selection and quality than the Hampton Inn down the street. We stayed for three nights and this would be our hotel of choice in Clinton, Iowa. We have stayed at the Hampton Inn and we checked into the Quality Inn but quickly left and booked room here.
We always enjoy the quiet atmosphere and of course the continental breakfast is almost always good. I also overheard a clerk tell another clerk to make sure the kids were out of the pool at the time they're supposed to, so the adults could get the time they're promised, by the hotel. It's nice to see the staff look out for the parents/adults, staying there. And do their best to keep the ruckus to a minimum in a friendly manner :) We live staying here. It's always our go-to.
Would like to see more bacon and sausage links on the breakfast buffet as well as hard boiled eggs.

The pillows were awful, very flat and not nearly enough. The shampoo and conditioner were both watered down drastically.
