Decent
Pros:

Location

Cons:

While we appreciate the modern European styling of the room, the lack of simple amenities was disappointing. Additional coat hangers on the walls and a mor comfortable lounging chair would have been welcome.

Solid hotel - not glamorous but good for what it is
Pros:

We stayed 7 nights to ski Whistler Blackcomb mountains and we were happy with the Aava - it's not a luxurious hotel but it is clean, practical, (kind of) close to the ski lifts and a great choice in it's category.

The location is good. It is right near the village entrance off the highway and a shortish 200-or-so metre walk from the main village bus station. It less than a 10 minute walk in ski gear to get to the gondala at the base of the mountain. It is even quicker when walking to the restaurants in the main village of the evening.

The hotel is large, no frills but fully functional. The room was spacious and had everything you need. There was a reasonably good gym, sauna, heated outdoor pool and hot tub. There were no other facilities at the hotel nor restaurant however being so close to walk to all of the options in Whistler this was not really a problem.

When considering the service we received, we thought the price was fair and would happily stay here again.

Noise cancelling earplugs an essential
Pros:

Location very good.

Room was clean and functional, as well as big enough for 3 guests (one queen bed + one sofa bed).

Ensuite provided everything required, although very small.

Hotel able to store luggage after check out.

Cons:

The walls are made of paper. You can hear everything as if it's happening in your room. Your nextdoor neighbours talking and using the bathroom. The guests in the floor above walking across their room. The heavy doors to each room constantly slamming shut. The generators outside the hotel humming non stop.

The shower towels aren't much bigger than a hand towel.

We had to request a kettle as well as bedding for the sofa bed.

The cost was extortionate, however we recognise this may have been partly due to our late booking during ski season (1 week ahead of arrival), after having our original accommodation, booked through a well known online provider, cancelled at the last minute.
