Not a comfortable stay in what should have been a highly dependable good quality hotel
Pros:

Good location

Cons:

Major refurbishment in progress , no where to relax in the hotel. None of this was disclosed when the booking was made in September last year, and no discount offered.
Our room had no aircon and was really hot during this recent heatwave, even with a fan on permanently during occupancy.
The shower temperature control was dreadful and prevented us from showering on two days because it produced really hot water ONLY. The t control mechanism was pathetic and could only be handled by a really helpful staff member on the front desk. Really not good enough , very disappointing.

Pros:

Location is great, we have stayed here several times previous and always thought the hotel was comfortable, value for money and good service

Cons:

Hotel was having dining and bar are refurbished, which we were made aware of but since our last stay everything looked very tired. Attention to detail was lacking with some things e.g. the chair in our room was stained and though probably clean’ did not look good. T.V. In room did not work, shower in bathroom didn’t function right, could not change from shower to taps. Walls were badly marked, as they were throughout corridors etc. Had it been our first stay we wouldn’t return. However we are hopeful that with refurb of the restaurant and bar, the rest of the hotel will follow. I cannot fault the staff, all were friendly and accommodating- a credit to the company

Pros:

beautiful hotel, right next to city centre. breakfast was good, bacon super thick and cooked nicely, great smoothies, continental breakfast even had brie cheese! very fancy for a very reasonable price.

Cons:

they were doing renovations so we assume the price was lower because of that so probably wouldnt be able to afford it otherwise but we didnt mind the construction, nice to see they are keeping their facilities up to date.

look for alternate accommodations with AC during heatwaves.
Pros:

good location, clean, orderly.

Cons:

The weather was unusually hot in Nottingham. 30C or higher. We were on the 6th floor, the room did not have air conditioning but if did have a tiny fan. The fan didn't come close to providing the air movement to help cool people in the room.

Avoid the rubber-like eggs at breakfast buffet.

Pros:

Location, room was reasonable. Everything needed for an overnight. Staff were responsive to issues in the circumstances. .

Cons:

Renovation ongoing. I wasn't booked for breakfast so the building site where the restaurant should be did not affect me but was an eyesore on checking in. Screening might help.

The floor my room was on also had ongoing renovation and plastic matting and equipment after I exited the lift.

Very small room but functional and ok for the price.

The bedside shelf on one side was loose so I spilt a cup of tea that was placed on it. Staff were able to note this down and provided paper towels so I was not charged for this.

Toilet seat did not fit into the location of the toilet when lifted up against the vanity area, so the toilet seat lid falls on your back when you sit down.

Walls are paper thin so I was startled awake by shouting from a neighbouring room. Not the best overall experience.
