Microtel Inn by Wyndham Athens

There was enough parking and the air was good.

Awesome place

Hotel outside appearance is dirty and rundown. Bedding was old and worn. Sheets were scratchy. Window blinds were broken. Smoking was allowed in room by previous renters. Pot smoke was apparent in hallway. Dirty looking hallway. Breakfast consisted of instant oatmeal and terrible coffee.

Great deal but breakfast is underwhelming

Everything was good but I don’t agree with housekeeping turning things in when left behind. I left my IPhone charger in room 102 and 1 hour later it was gone or not turned in.

Very nice stay

Very sketchy folks at this place. Lobby and hallway were very smelly, like a skunk. Our room smelled musty and the floor was sticky. We would have left but we were too tired. There were only 2 small towels to dry off with and 3 horrible pillows on a king size bed. The sheets on the bed did look clean. The cost was over $160. Worst stay. Don’t waste your money.

Above and beyond staff services

Check in was good. My room seemed to be equipped for handicapped person. The shower was small with seating inside and shower head was made to aim at that seat not to adjust for standing patron. The sink would fill up with water as soon as faucet was turned and slowly go out. Other than these things room was fine.

Someone had a dog in the room above us that barked all night long. Never was brought new towles or anything. We had to ask for everything. The room smelled horrible like they were trying to cover up someone. Lesson learned to never stay here again.

TV was programmed to Spanish language and difficult to change. Went to bed relatively early so didn’t bother to fix it. Staff handled a disturbance by guests in the night. We were impressed how they quickly shut it down.

I didn't feel safe. The and my windows only had half of the blinds. When I turned on the bathroom faucet, it was leaking everywhere. My fridge was plugged in but not cold. Smelled like wed.

I like staff and service Good job

This is an OK place to stay if on a budget. Extremely limited services. NO ELEVATOR, floor felt like it was half inch plywood and sagged/creaked when you walked down the hallway. No closets, no dressers… Very limited shelf space to put anything. But overall, it was clean, affordable, and accomplished the goal of having a place to sleep.

It was quite very low key spot

There was no one in the front office when I arrived. It was night time and after waiting 30 minutes, I called the police. The officer walked the ground for 10 minutes and ask me to wait outside. The staff on duty pulled up in a car not noticing me. Walked in like he had been there all night. This was scary for my a single mother traveling with kids.

Was nice

So check in was easy, after being in the car for 6 hours. Person at desk seemed nice. He adivsed us that the tv wasnt working(not a big deal, spent that extra time studying). The only thing we noticed is the hallway outside our room smelled strongly of urine. Also the bottom of the shower was really slippery(I slipped) but that would be solved with a non slip mat. Overall very convient location, it was clean in the room, and quiet.
