Nice quiet hotel and great dressing gowns
Pros:

Stayed one night here and the place was very nice, the room was large and comfy, staff were friendly and the food good if not a little expensive. A cup of coffee in the bar was £5 which is a bit steep i my opinion. I never had breakfast but there looked plenty of choice. I would stay here again. Best quality soft dressing gown ive had anywhere. The tea tray was well stocked. There was a water and milk machine on each floor.

Beautiful hotel and ticks all the boxes
Pros:

Friendly welcome on arrival from Sunny
We had a beautifully newly refurbished suite.
Well equipped and very spacious.
2 TV's, settee, 2 arm chairs, coffee machine etc
Beautiful food in the restaurant
We had a steak and one of the FYR skewers. Yumm!!
Breakfast was an excellent choice too
It would be nice to have somewhere in the shower to put the toiletries other than on the floor- only feedback we have.

Pros:

Poor massage at spa and premium prices so very disappointed there. However room exceptional and bath super. Lived the fridge and comfy bed and breakfast 10/10. Dinner food overpriced for what was quite tame unadventurous offering. Lovely decor but not enough to invite me back for evening food.

Poor service at the North Lakes Hotel & Spa.
Pros:

My husband and I decided to book a last minute mini break. My husband wanted somewhere with a sauna and after searching the Lake District we decided to book the North Lakes Hotel & Spa. We arrived around four o’clock and it was very busy at reception. There were two guys booking in around 5 different parties. One guy with glasses was engaging with guests and seemed very helpful. We got the other guy who didn’t seem as friendly and he had poor eye contact too. He just seemed a bit distracted.
We got booked in and went to our room. On entering I checked the pillows as I am highly allergic to down pillows. My husband called down to reception to ask for a change of pillows and the guy who had booked us in said he would get them changed over. Over an hour passed and so my husband took the pillows down to reception for the same guy to tell him they had been very busy but would replace them soon. We waited for another hour and decided to go out a walk after our long drive. On our way out reception was empty so my husband asked about the pillows and the same guy who booked us in said he would get straight onto it and pulled a puzzled face as if he had never been asked before. We had looked at the menu during our wait for the pillows but decided to eat out due to the poor service.
We decided to eat at a local pub/hotel called the Agricultural Inn. It is a short walk from the hotel. The staff were really friendly especially the Irish guy behind the bar. The meal came quickly and was delicious and very reasonably priced. It was £7 cheaper than our hotel for a basic fish and chips. There was almost £20 of a difference for steak & chips.
We returned to our hotel and the pillows had finally been changed (over two and a half hours after first requesting them to be changed).
We were staying for three nights. We tried to make a coffee before bed and kept losing the pods into the machine as there were no instructions on how to use it. The tv channels were also extremely limited. The bed was comfortable enough but this was due to a mattress topper. The room was in need of some tlc with faded carpets and scuff marks under the tv.
As we were staying for three days we asked the girl who was cleaning the room if we could get some more coffee pods and and some more biscuits as we had only one pack on arrival for two people.
We returned later that day to pods but no biscuits. We paid full price for three nights so felt this was poor.
On our final day we decided to lie in but were startled awake by an extremely loud fire alarm test. No warning or signs to tell us it was a test. Customer service seemed to be lacking on more than one occasion.
We would not return to this hotel or recommend it to anyone due to the poor service and tired room we stayed in. I think we would try the rooms at the nearby Agricultural Inn as the service was so good and the meals were lovely too.

Perfect. Great for families
Pros:

There was nothing to not like. It was an absolute hidden gem! The pool lights did go out so it was out of order for the morning. But it was open after that. Honestly I can’t speak higher of this hotel!

Disappointing
Pros:

Having stayed there many times in the past it was as we had expected. A really great hotel helpful staff and great food

Cons:

Having booked bed, breakfast and dinner at a quoted price of £550.80 for a two night stay they then charged me an additional £163.65 which I could not understand and when I challenged them they gave a refund of £70.
Their paperwork was shambolic and I am still not satisfied with their accounting. I shall be taking this up directly with the hotel.

Pros:

Really nice hotel, can’t fault it.

Cons:

Small criticism is the permanent smell of wood burning, other than that, all good.

Overall 9 out of 10, perfect location and amazing staff.
Pros:

Amazing service at the reception, even tho we used Trip. Com that over booked. The reception and the team was absolutely fantastic with giving us a complimentary drink whilst we waited for them to sort myself and wife out with a lovely room.

Pros:

Hotel central to Penrith so it is not far when driving to Keswick or Windermere for the day. Hotel was clean.

Cons:

Hotel was very busy and meant that when trying to use the pool it was packed. There were also a group of children cannon balling into the pool so not relaxing at all. Also hotel forgot to charge us the correct amount and were unable to charge me over the phone so I had to go back to the hotel after checkout to pay. Staff were okay but not very friendly. Avoid during half term times.

A first class stay at a great hotel.
Pros:

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night as we travelled south on our honeymoon- we were not disappointed.
What a really lovely hotel. Modern yet rustic with the feel of a Canadian lodge. From the start we felt welcomed. Efficient Reception team and the check in process was easily to complete.
Our room was lovely - not huge in size but great facilities and a very comfy bed. A great range of toiletries available and a pod coffee machine for a quality room coffee. I loved that fresh milk and chilled water were available in fridges in the corridor - great idea. Some nice Borders biscuits and a good range of teas and hot chocolate. The room was very clean and fresh, large TV and a lovely walk in rainfall shower. Bathrobes, ironing table & iron and a safe were also in the room as well as plenty of hanging space for clothes. A really nice touch was the addition of a sleep eye mask and sleep pillow spray to use. The room was very comfortable and quiet.
Breakfast was superb - our server Shona was so helpful and mannerly. Great range of food with some specials available as well. Food very fresh and plentiful.
A great stay - HIGHLY Recommended.

From the people to the food (in the main), we loved our stay. Thank you.
Pros:

Friendly engaged welcome and very comfortable surroundings. We liked being able to relax without staff feeling the need to interact. We also liked the number of different seating areas within the welcoming lounge and bar areas. The swimming pool area was lovely and the bedroom was just big enough although not a lot of room to move when we had separated the twin beds a bit so we didn't feel we were sleeping in the same bed as the beds were touching each other.

Cons:

I had the best fillet steak I had ever had but I felt the prawn cocktail was watery and underwhelming. I didn't complain though as didn't want to cause a fuss or let my daughter know I was disappointed, although it was very expensive for what it was in my view. The breakfast was excellent although the fried egg was hard as it had been standing for a while along with the rest of the plate of eggs.

Pros:

Very clean, access to unlimited filtered water and milk was excellent.

The option to have the evening meals in our room was awesome as we had a 3month old and couldn’t get to the restaurant.
