Pros:

There is a nice stretch of beach with biking and jogging path right outside our hotel room. The view is amazing! The room is equipped with a DVD player, and from the reception desk we rented a couple of movies that were filmed at this island. Watching those films in the hotel room is an interesting experience.

Cons:

The the mattress on the bed in our hotel room is very worn, it sunk down in the middle. Also when we first arrived, we found the lid of the toliet was not properly cleaned.

walking out into the garden and facing the ocean was lovely. walking into town without finding parking was easy. Hotel parking was easy.

Cons:

rooster crows. but I don't think you can avoid that on Kauaʻi. Beach wasn't swimmable (also not the hotel's issue)

Pros:

Right on water! Clean and staff so friendly. Wonderful to loan out beach towels for free- and nice big fluffy ones. Banana bread delicious and a nice touch

Cons:

The shower rod fell down on me.

A great place if you plan on going out during the day to explore the island.
Pros:

Beach front access near a coastal walking path, comfortable room/bed, friendly staff, clean room, walking distance to local restaurants/shops, central to other island locations so it never felt like a long drive to go anywhere. It's all you need if you plan on going out a lot during the day and just need a place to sleep and do a little eating/shopping. It's also near the farmer's market on Wednesdays.

Cons:

There was some maintenance issue happening outside the room that resulted in an intermittent beeping noise throughout the night. The staff was aware and had their maintenance work on it, and while it stopped (sometimes) or got quieter it never was fully fixed. Not really a negative experience - just a bit of bad timing for me.

Ocean front unobstructed views.
Pros:

We were very pleased to have chosen the Hotel Coral Reef for our three night stay. The hotel, despite its name is not a 'resort'. We were in the upstairs corner suite which is the size of two rooms with its full kitchen and separate bedroom. The hotel is right on the beach with the public walking path separating its lawn from the shore. So you get to watch the locals and tourists passing throughout the day. The ocean front rooms are in fact ocean front and unobstructed. It is in the heart of Kapaa town within easy walking distance of everything. Yes there are unhoused people living in the area. Yes traffic is horrendous. Neither of which are their responsibility but folks might like to know. Zero parking fees and zero resort fees make it a solid bargain. We would absolutely stay there again without hesitation.

Older part of the hotel is not pleasant for a real vacation.
Pros:

the location was great and we appreciated the complimentary beach chairs. There are also free loaner bicycles.AC was great and I did not hear a lot of road noise.

Cons:

I had walked by this hotel numerous times when staying in the area. We needed a place to stay for a night when between other bookings so I quickly chose this hotel. Although the booking indicated that our room would not face the water, and I was fine with that, it did not state that it was in the older portion of the hotel and not the larger and newer building. The place was small and I was concerned about cleanliness. Our minute balcony overlooked a dumpster.

Das Hotel liegt direkt am Meer und ein Zimmer mit Meerblick ist das absolute Muss.
Das Zimmer verfügt über eine Klimaanlage, die sogar auf unseren Wunsch repariert wurde. Das ging Ruck Zuck. Überhaupt wenn man Wünsche äußerte oder es ein Problem gab, wurde alles sofort erledigt. Super Service!

Schön wäre es, wenn die zwei Damen in der Rezeption ein kleines Lächeln verschenken würden, das hat mich sehr irritiert, da ich es doch aus dem Gastservicebereich anders kenne.
Falls jemanden die Hühner nerven… Leute die gehören einfach zu Kauai … Niemand trifft hier die Schuld.

Cons:

Das Wifi ist absolut nicht gut, es stellt sich über Nacht ab und man muss sich immer wieder neu anmelden, was nicht immer funktioniert.

Einziges Mankos, es ist alles etwas schmuddelig und die Räume werden nicht gereinigt, außer man zahlt dafür extra. Auch roch es bei unserer Ankunft recht muffig. So dass ich erstmal Febreeze besorgte um Möbel. Vorhänge etc. damit einzusprühen. Danach war der Geruch erträglicher.

La posizione era ottima e non bisogna pagare il parcheggio.

Cons:

L'hotel non è in buonissime condizioni. La camera era decadente e non pulita. Sullle lenzuola ho trovato ben 4 capelli lunghi non miei. Lo staff non l'ho trovato molto accogliente. All'arrivo non abbiamo trovato nessuno in reception (che solo li abbiamo scoperto che chiudeva alle 19.00). Il prezzo sproporzionato rispetto alla qualità della struttura.
