Vila Gale Nautico was a lovely hotel, staff were were very helpful, rooms had all the amenities apart from a kettle.
Check in was slow, with only one person on the desk, but they did their best to get us to our rooms, especially having had a long, early start.
Variety of food choices were good, if some of the meals were not always hot
On the whole, it was close to the beach and shops and a good choice for a autumn break.

We stayed in Vila Gale Nautico for 7 nights. It's a lovely hotel very clean& welcoming. The staff from reception, hospitality to cleaners are great- polite& efficient. Breakfast was included & had a good range on offer - fruit, juices, cereals& hot food. Snacks available in the bar also. The resort itself was quiet possibly because the season was ending. We would prefer a livelier area. Some people probably stayed all inclusive & were happy to have a relaxing holiday in the hotel itself.

Myself and my friend have just come back from a weeks stay at the hotel vita gale nautico. It was our first time visiting this hotel & the area. This is going to be a lengthy extensive review but I feel it’s needed.

We had a mixed experience, the room was rather spacious and was very clean and tidy. We had regular daily services for our beds to be made and fresh towels. It was also nice to stay within a hotel that had a bath in the room as I’ve always been used to showers. The staff were very friendly and also were very welcoming in and around the hotel.

The positives of our stay are as follows

4) Mini fridge
5) plenty of space in the wardrobe
6) Hand wash / shampoo and conditioner provided

The negatives from both myself and my friends point of view were..

1) The location of the hotel was very secluded either very little night life near by
2) The facilities weren’t they great, for example there was one indoor pool to which we believed was only for the adults however the children were able to go in this however parents were leaving their children to run ragged and it spoilt it for the rest of us that were trying to have a relaxing time.
3) The food options were very limited, most of the night half of the food sections were closed off and there didn’t really seem to be much on offer. ( we’re unsure if it’s because it’s near the end of the season however we should still have access to a variety of food regardless)
4) There wasn’t any cereal options in a morning for breakfast it was just toast and pastries / fruit
5) there was no self serve drinks machine in reasturant so you had to wait for someone to come and take your drinks order which at times could be a while
6) There wasn’t a life guard around the pools we never saw a life guard the whole holiday
7) The cleanliness of the pool didn’t seem up to standard even though we seen them clean it, it didn’t seem fully clean and up to standard.
8) interior was quite dated and hasn’t been updated since it states on the website since the early 2000’s
9) Myself and my friend paid for all inclusive however a lot of the drinks options weren’t on the all inclusive and same with the snack bar some things we had to pay extra for.
10) no iron available in the room

An added negative that wasn’t necessarily the hotels fault fully, but there was a man who was a local in the area who was able to come into the hotel and buy a drink as though he was a part of the hotel. The man was very very sly and was flirting with all of the women and was around his mid 50’s. I’m 25 and he approached me and was being very rude and inappropriate by calling me “Cute” and saying that he wasn’t trying to “get in my pants” this made me feel incredibly uncomfortable he was escorted of the premises twice. But he also approached other women as well however this was handled well and he was escorted away.

Overall I feel this trip had been good and myself and my friend have had a lovely time however the hotel does need updating and the rules need to be more clear in regards to not being able to reserve subbed as this actually caused some issues for me and my friend being without and had to get a receptionist to help us get a sunbed.

Overall I would rate our stay a 3/5 stars but have decided I would not want to return to this hotel. However the excursions we did was very nice and would recommend going with Tui for those rather than private hire.

We really enjoyed our visit to this hotel. It proved to be everything I had hoped for; a quiet, relaxing week in a good hotel close to the beach.
Our hotel room faced the pool and had a sea view. It had everything we needed. The safe was handy as was the fridge, which was stocked daily with water, beer and soft drinks.
We were all inclusive and found the food to be good quality. I don't eat much meat, but still found plenty of things to eat. There were 4 theme nights throughout the week which helped offer some variety and if staying for a week you also have one evening you can book at the Italian restaurant on site too. Throughout our stay, the staff worked hard and were pleasant and helpful.
We enjoyed chilling by the outdoor pool in an afternoon. There is an indoor pool but we never tried it as it was small and often busy.
The evening entertainment is the reason why I never gave 5 stars. It was really disappointing. The shows were just the entertainment team and we're not great. However, I appreciate we went at the end of the season.
The resort itself is very small. At this time of year it only has limited shops and restaurants open. This never bothered us. We enjoyed the peace and quiet. We walked every day. We loved the cliff top walk, to the right as you approach the beach near the hotel. The scenery was stunning and we visited several beaches in the different coves.
If you walked to the left on the beach, you reach a walkway that takes you to a nature reserve by the sand dunes.
All in all, I would recommend this hotel. I'm sure it is much busier in summer, but for us at this time of the year, it was perfect.

We have recently returned from a one week all inclusive stay here; myself, my husband and 2 young children.
Room was lovely, comfortable and cleaned well each day.
Food was great, I am vegetarian, rest of the family meat eaters and always a good selection to suit everyone, including theme nights and burgers, steaks, fish, omelettes and pancakes (and more!) cooked to order.
Pool area is clean and relaxing and I used the gym a couple of times which was great too, it's only small but has everything you need from a gym.
I worked in hospitality for 10+ years so have a good idea what great service looks like, and I can't fault the team here.

If you get chance, please can you let me know the song names for the kids disco? We know the English ones such as Baby Shark and Cha Cha Slide, but my kids are still singing and dancing to random lines from the Portugese (I assume?) songs and I can't find them on YouTube for them to continue dancing to now we're home 😊

Lovely hotel built around a pool. Sea views beyond.
Small town and large sandy beach a couple of minutes away.
Staff were friendly and very helpful. We had a great two weeks.
Food was great. Good variety and a range of theme nights too.

We had a great stay at this hotel. All staff throughout were polite and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean, had everything we needed and was cleaned every day. There was a good selection of food with theme nights and meat and fish cooked fresh to order every day. The pool is a good size, not huge but was never crowded and there were always sunbeds available. We went in October, so cannot speak for high season.
