Hotel was in a lovely setting
The hotel is a little dated no air con in the rooms which is a real shame especially with the heat wave we have had in the uk recently
Lovely location, nice set up.
The room was very hot, no AC and only a tiny window to a noisy road. Furniture and fittings a bit dated.
Staff were so lovely and went above and beyond to make sure my stay was a good one.
Leaving
The room was clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast was good, loved the coffee machine, giving you a choice of different coffees.
We found the pillows quite hard and uncomfortable. Wasn't too happy paying for parking considering we were staying at the hotel.
Good location in an area we like. Restaurant was good food and prices were reasonable.
Reception staff member was welcoming and efficient.
Plenty of comfortable sitting areas.
The bar does not take cash OR CARDS after 22:30 unless you have preauthorised a card with reception during the day.
The outside was untidy with grit, dirt, old fallen leaves and litter which could be easily remedied with a broom.
The entrance and stair carpets to our room in the external block needed a good hoover as they were dirty from dirt brought in from outside (see above).
The room was basic and needed a refurb. A ‘shower over bath’ with no safety rubber matting provided for the enamel bath. A shower curtain that did not glide and that I fixed as two clips were out of the holes.
There was only one cup and one packet of biscuits (for a two person room). Only one face towel but there were two bath sheets. 🤷♂️.
A large pedestal fan was in the room which took up a disproportionate amount of room and sadly we could not use as it sounded like a Chinook helicopter hovering overhead!
The manager on duty was helpful when we had a query but I felt it was through ‘gritted teeth’, whereas the reception staff were lovely and naturally friendly.
Friendly staff and very clean rooms
Shower seriously needs updating. It’s mouldy and the temp can’t be changed.
Great room, lovely bar and pond outside. Offered complimentary alcoholic drink on arrival.
Beautiful building in a lovely village . Good facilities . Professional staff .
Nothing springs to mind .
