Traveling down to SC from PA for the second weekend in a row for my husband’s guitar gig we had pretty low expectations based on previous experience with the same booking agent.
We pulled in late Thursday night, weed smoking riff raff in parking lot was our initial impression. The lobby was decent. The young man checking us in was great- polite, professional, college man. Good kid- we wish him well. He fixed some check in errors efficiently and made sure our room was ready.
We stayed in 120, upon walking in, the air was stale tv was on, room seemed clean- already better than previous hotel stay. The beds looked clean, the bathroom decent, carpet had weird stains as well as the wall. Ceiling was super high! I had stand on the bed swinging a hand towel to kill a flying bug, didn’t see any more critters thank God.
The bed was okay, pillows average, had a good sleep. The bathroom was mostly clean- there was what appeared to be a booger on the shower curtain- gross but other than that, nothing spectacular. Shower was hot, water pressure so-so.
After our show at USC, we came down to the lobby to heat up our leftovers and grab some waters. Eating area was large and clean. Microwave was also clean. Staff friendly.
The second night we were woken up by loud overhead guests and door slamming.
It wasn’t the worst, not the best, but it was fine.
Now on the road again to the next gig!
Location, bed was comfortable. Bathtub was nice. Front desk clerk was very nice.
Place was in need of updating. Furniture was stained and marked up. Carpet was dirty and unraveling in our room. Dead water bug in bathroom, toilet rim was dirty. Breakfast had minimal selections. I think at one-time it was very nice, but definitely needs some renovations. We booked because of reviews for cleanliness but it wasn't. Wouldn't recommend.
Beds and shower were clean.
Most of the hotel was old and falling apart. Not enough towels were provided, and the staff made it hard to get more. None of the equipment in the fitness center worked.
I had to get a room for me and my family because of unusual circumstances, I did not think that a Hotel would smell this bad. It had a stench throughout.
I think that they should have paid me to stay in this Hotel!
The Country Inn and Suites was fine once inside the Hotel, but once you leave the front desk and go to the elevator, the stench of the Hotel is evident. I was not sure if the elevator was going to stall. Once we got in the room, it smelled of heavy smoke. I had asked the representative before I got in room if this was a non-smoking Hotel and she said yes, so I ended up calling the front desk and telling her that the room had a strong smoke smell in the room. She came up to the room and asked if she could spray the room with another substance and I said no. 'Then she said she would check to see who might be smoking in the Hotel. I never heard back from her. That should have been my cue to get out of there, but I stayed mainly because it was a suite and we had a few people with us.
The Hotel had old furniture with stains on it. stains on the ceiling, a broken glass, and in the shower it looked like a bandage was in the tub. The only saving grace for fresh air was in the dining area. I said wow,--fresh air. How people even stay here is beyond me and believe me, I will not be staying here again
The staff was very nice, the room was clean and comfortable
The hotel itself is a little outdated but not horrible and the breakfast was good but not great...I expected alot more variety with hot food from some of the recent reviews
Very nice clean smelled good and comfortable in the room
Needs more security with the no animals allowed
The lady that did breakfast was very nice.
The people were less than friendly, the shower in the room was very dangerous (extremely slippery,) there were holes in the bed sheets and the mattress cover, was out of a lot of stuff for breakfast (was told manager forgot to reorder.) It was not a good experience at all. Do not recommend.
Nothing at all.
It was dirty, the staff wasn't friendly. We had 4 people but could only get 3 towels. Had to use them and go exchange them for clean ones. We had a bug in our bed. Not sure what it was, they switched our room and it was filthy. There was broken old furniture stacked in the back parking lot.
I made a reservation and the attendant didn't honor it.
The room was very plane but it was clean/
The rooms opened to the outside and the stairs and halls were dirty and cement/ not a good lay out
Location, staff and breakfast.
Everything outdated but seemed clean. Some things falling apart.
