The hotel needs some work but the staff were perfect
Pros:

Location was perfect and the setting very beautiful. Excellent room extras - a great selection of teas, quality biscuits and a little bottle of Prosecco. The staff were super friendly and the food in the restaurant was excellent. A great night’s sleep!

Cons:

Very tired - my bathroom was very clean but had loose taps, the grout cracked and no water pressure. In the bedroom, again really clean but the tv didn’t work, the carpets were threadbare. The EV charger didn’t work, the gym was very dated and the restaurant was cold.

It's old and dated, the staff don't care and we had a bad time.
Cons:

Everything was filthy. The carpets in our room were stained and smelled like wet dog.
The decking was mossy and slippery at our chalet and surrounding areas.
The spa was disgustingly dirty, there was black mould around the edge of the jacuzzi that I accidentally touched and got on my hand. The swimming pool has a line of grime around the water line and is very cold, so not suitable for children as advertised. The changing rooms for the swimming pool and sauna facilities was dirty.
The service in the restaurant was slow and the food was bad.
I wouldn't come here again if you paid me.

Comfortable bed. Great for our needs for one night stay before flight from Leeds Bradford.
Pros:

Location. Breakfast was OK, at least it was cooked to order.

Cons:

Stairs and steps to room. Cold room, even with heater on. Very cold bathroom. Poor communication about steps and stairs to room. No help offered. Not enough staff. Dull decor in public areas. Powdered eggs for scrambled, poor taste. Bacon and black pudding overcooked. Cups too small at breakfast. Not enough variety of fruit choices ready to eat.

Pros:

It was absolutely perfect, scenery was immense, staff were so friendly and helpful. I left my watch in the spa facility’s and before I’d even realised it was missing it had been returned to me by a lovely member of staff. The stay was just perfect from start to finish. I’d also like to mention how lovely the woman in the spa facilities was on the evening. I do wish I’d have caught names as they really do deserve there praises to be sung.

Cons:

Nothing

My stay was peaceful, I would say the staff at the spa were great.
Pros:

I loved the full body massage!

Cons:

I got transferred to a new cabin with a dodgy handle and was a lot smaller than the other room. Someone changed the cups in the room but didn’t do anything else.

Complete luck of the draw.
Pros:

We had a room in the hotel - Which was pleasant, and had a newly refurbed bathroom in which was spotlessly clean. The room overall was also clean. Tea & coffee facilities in the room were average, and there was a small fridge. We didnt use the Spa facilities, although did have a look at them - definitely not luxury but appeared clean enough and pleasant.

Cons:

It's complete luck of the draw the experience you have here - our room, although nice, was on the pricey side. Some of our friends and family that stayed in a small hotel room, or a lodge were not so lucky - their rooms or lodgers were very run down, and had broken and gruby bathrooms.
The whole place could be stunning, but is suffering from years of lack of basic investment and maintance. Broken guttering outside our room (which was otherwise nice) causing constant river of water outside the door and all night. Lakeside seating very old and damaged, some of it falling apart when moved. Staff friendly and helpful - but insufficient staff - 1 memeber of staff on the bar - meaning quite lengthy ques at times.

This hotel has potential, this hotel falls very short.
Pros:

This should be a beautiful hotel, however it has been left to decay. The location, the facilities, the lake, it has the makings of magic. What it needs is some serious investment to bring it up to a decent standard.

Cons:

I don't want to fault any individual staff member, they were all polite and did their best. However, its clear they had employed some local kids on holiday to run the place. They were young, inexperienced and lacked training. They were also CHRONICALLY understaffed. Management are at fault for this.

Also, DON'T EAT THE FOOD!

Lovely place beautiful wedding just little extra care would of been good.
Pros:

Staff were absolutely lovely

Cons:

paying extra for an earlier check-in in reality, if someone is booking a wedding there for the guests, it should come as complimentary, just made the day stressful, rooms were not ready even when people had paid the earlier check in and our room was tiny but had to house several people to accommodate this.

Breakfast was ok however the bacon could of walked off the plate it was so white and why bother serving half a mushroom??
