The log cabbin vibe gave off cozy american vibes you’d think it was somewhere totally different. But very cosy and very nice resteraunt area too. For the money you really can’t complain and bed was satisfactory
The view from the hotel room window sadly is of the car park not of the ‘pond’ rather than the big looking ‘lake’ on the photos but i’m really being harsh i feel for the price my mrs and myself paid you can’t complain
Fabulous location. Very comfortable bed and spacious room
Not very welcoming reception. We arrived early and were promptly told ‘ check in is not until 3 pm’. So no chance of early check in - and why should they when they charge £15 extra for the privilege!? We booked the last time spot for breakfast. Big mistake! Everything was cold - including the coffee - and bacon rashers stuck together like barnacles on a ship’s hull!
Dinner menu very limited and cheapest bottle of wine was £34! London prices! We took ourselves down into Otley for a pub meal and saved ourselves almost £40.
Location
Dirty Spa area, full area needs a desperate upgrade. Understaffed, poor waiter service
A fantastic cabin in the woods ,peace , and tranquil surroundings.
Locations is the best thing about the hotel
he property feels as though it hasn’t been updated at all since our last visit 12 years ago, with very little sign of improvement or investment. It was disappointing to find that even basic amenities, such as daytime swimming, come at an additional cost. The staff appeared poorly trained and often inattentive, which contributed to a lack of overall service quality and attention to detail throughout our stay. Unfortunately, the food was also underwhelming—comparable in quality to a typical Wetherspoon’s, rather than what you might expect from a property of this type.
very quiet and relaxing, nice restaurant and very nice spa (free access to hotel guests between 8-9pm and 7-10am), always happy to come back
I wish it would be cheaper of make offers to spend more time there as is lovely :-)
Good area
Nothing
Lovely staff.
Great breakfast.
Some bits a little tired looking.
T V and controls need checking in rooms each time. Two did not work satisfactory.
Location and surroundings
Limited choice for evening meal
The location and setting was idealic
The room we stayed in was very unpleasant. The room and the hotel desperately needs to be better maintained and updated. The bathroom was particularly poor. The taps on the sink were loose, the lock on the bathroom door faulty, resulting in my husband being unable to open the door.
The room and bathroom were dirty.
Lovely location, peaceful, lots of nature.
We stayed in the Brontë lodge which is the flagship of the hotel. We found it to have a lovely cottage feel but the decor has mold in the bedrooms, it wasn’t cleaned to my satisfaction as there was the previous guests black hair in the baths, as well as there socks on the radiator. The tv had the antenna completely broken exposing the metal wiring, and there was cobwebs. There was also what we believe to be a squirrel nesting in the attic of the lodge. We didn’t mind this but the lack of a phone signal and WiFi could cause problems too. Finally we were outraged to see the hot tub cleaners before we checked out, whilst my partner was getting dressed. It’s a lovely lodge, but needs a bit of tlc
The location. The rest of the trip was affected by the extremely concerning incident involving privacy.
We have tried contacting booking.com and chevin about the upsetting incident where basic privacy needs were not met but all we have heard from chevin is £30 -like it or leave it! Trying to express our concerns has been like communicating with an unhelpful chatbot- no empathy or basic understanding of good management.
We were informed later into the evening that the bathroom blinds were very see though. The shower faced the car park and so did the toilet. All could be seen. Reception offered to change our room but this was late at night and we were leaving the next morning. The nice lady at reception was extremely shocked when we showed her the photos and gave us a towle to cover the window for the rest of the night. The damage had already been done. We asked for a refund as we never would have booked knowing basic privacy needs were not going to be met. No one should have to experience that. We were showing all for the other hotel residents. I dont think Chevin understands the extremes of the situation. We have constantly tried to contact management and asked yo take this further but they have chosen to ignore us.
The spa was not looked after. Pride was not taken in the care of the facilities. Lockers were also broken. The changing facilities were dirty and not tidy. Robes spilt onto the floor and rubbish everywhere.
The cheap offers encouraged not the best clientele. Young adults wandering around in rodes early morning smoking weed.
Lovely room, great staff, excellent facilities
