Hot tub was amazing even though it rained
I liked the log cabin it was okay.
The restaurant staff was nice but terrible service got my first round of drinks when my starter came had to remind them of my drinks, the jacuzzis outside only 1 working but too many people to even get a chance to go in time I got to go in was time it was shutting steam room was not working the rooms had coffee and sugar and tea but only 2 teas 4 coffee sachets and 4 sugar sachets between 2 hardly any milk pots
The bar I was stood waiting for around 10/15 minutes for a member of staff which eventually I just ended up going back to my cabin, did not look up to its expectations let’s just say
I thought overall it was lovely.
However there was a wedding on so there was only a couple of seats in the bar and in the end sat on two chairs in the reception area but it was not very comfortable and difficult for me and my partner to speak plus the wedding guests kept stepping over us and we felt very in the way. The barmaid was very slow and I found her to be very rude to the other members of staff she spent way to long talking to the wedding guests about random things and a few times I overheard her say your bar is open in the reception area. We went to the restaurant to eat menu for 4oclock was very small staff didn't engage just took the order and we didn't see them again sandwich was ok small and the sides that would of come with it according to the menu didn't come very disappointing. In the spa it seems a little dated and could do with some modernising the steam room was also out of use
Beautiful lodges, well equipped.
Beautiful place to stay
Good friendly hotel
The location is good for leeds bradford airport which is why we chose to stay here
we were charged £15 each to go to the spa which was filthy we weren’t in there longer than 20 minutes we complained but nothing was done and we didn’t receive a refund for this- there was another couple who had just complained and they received a refund and a bottle of champagne to apologise
it seemed like there was never any staff on the reception or at the bar we were waiting a long time to be served. when we eventually got served we ordered 2 beef brisket jacket potatoes, the potatoes were rock hard inside and burnt on the outside and the beef was cold and dry and it cost £26 for this! we eventually did receive a refund for this and had to order food in from uber eats.
whilst we were sat in the bar area whilst waiting for our food there were constant complaints from other guests about various things and not much was being done to resolve any of these.
the room we had was freezing cold, there was a draft from the window coming in and staying in january was so cold, the room door also didn’t lock properly!
The location is very convenient and the hot tubs because they were all nice. It was overall a good experience if considered about this experience.
Less maintenance lack of staff lack of information on site and on reception on the website they mentioned toiletries however there were no none in the room not no shampoo or nothing in the room which they forgot to fill a lack of housekeeping then very disappointing that the Room case stopped working and we had to go back-and-forth from the reception multiple times which is very disappointing. It was a horrible experience when it comes to this except for the only thing that was good was the hot tubs that’s it?
Quirky log cabin feel on large scale Staff were very helpful food was good
Cleaning was a little lucking in the room and common areas
Location , warmth
Rooms need refurbing and use a proper builder they seemed to be botched into make do
Location , good and staff
Cabins/ spa need redecorating
Stayed at the Brontë 3 bed house. Nice and secluded with great hot tub and comfy rooms. Beds were amazingly comfortable.
Kitchen needed plastic glasses for the hot tub to be safe. Gym equipment a bit tired but worked
Easy location, friendly staff, great room
Nothing
Great location. Close to the town with £6 uber ride to the centre. Staff were lovely. The room was clean and had free parking right outside.
The room needs a face lift. The casing was falling off the bath. The windows didn’t close all the way (warped wood). The beds had springs that were loud and uncomfortable.
All staff very helpful. I even got a curtsey call the day before we travelled . Venue very well maintained. Loved the restaurant by the big pond
Breakfast was great . The girl serving us was very attentive . Enjoyed evening meal too . Had drinks in bar . Had the burger and my partner had the Gammon
Pool staff friendly . Liked the Steam , Sauna and Jacuzzi off the pool . Did not try outdoor hot tub
We had to pay £10 each to use the Spa pool between 1700 and 2000. I thought looking at the booking it was included but its between 2000 and 2100 and 0700 to 1000 . I asked about it on curtsey call as have been caught out twice before by this policy using Booking.com at 2 other hotels . So knew I had to pay
The ironing board was broken it collapsed if you applied any pressure on it so had to iron with it flat on the floor ( forgot to mention this on checkout )
The lovely staff (who are run off their feet) are the only thing holding this place together - they maintained a great attitude despite everything that is being thrown at them by poor management and a lack of care about the whole place by the owners. The defualt response of "we will refund that for you" was heard a lot through the weekend.
The place is shabby to say the least. poor quality rooms - we travelled as a group and all for of our groups reported the same poor issues with the place.
No pressure on the hot water is not what i would expect from a spa hotel. building a spa under a flight path is an interesting place to try and relax. it would have been better as a motor cross resort.
visible damp proof course in the lobby is not what i would expect at the price.
on returning to the hotel in the evening there was no residents bar or even the ability to buy a bottle of wine to take back to our room. the idea of buying a bottle of wine was quickly shut down by the gentleman on reception. it was just after 11pm - and then he eventually conceded that was actually another bar still open.
breakfast was poor - no cutlery was available, no crockery was available, no glasses were available - none of this really mattered as they had no pastries, run out of juice and the coffee was awful when we finally got some. the cooked breakfast was average but they had also run out of bread and butte.
its clear that the place needs investment, the owners don't care and the poor girls running around holding the place together are their only asset.
