Hotel Diplomat

Staff is pleasant but facilities are now old and dated. Leaky shower doors which flood the bathroom floor. You have to run hot water tap for 20 minutes before you gat any warm water. Linen and towels are sadly old, grungy and thread bare Leaky bathroom faucets. See photos

Location is good but service is between poor and lousy. I had to wait more than 10 minutes in inchecking although there were no other customers. The rooms are not tiptop but ok. The co-operation between hotel and restaurant does not work.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Vikas from front desk for the outstanding service and advice he provided to my mother throughout her stay. His professionalism, kindness, and genuine care made a significant difference in her experience.

I had booked a Deluxe room. Firstly they gave me a different room - really dirty as If it’s a shared room in a lodge. After raising the complaint, they changed the room with rolling eyes.
Such scammers!

We checked into here hopeful of the cute boutique hotel that is pictured. This is not the case. None of the bathrooms look like the ones online they are not as “nice”
Also the bed was really firm not comfortable whatsoever. Maybe because I’m from Texas and used to AC lower than 22 Celsius but it was too hot to sleep. Also found this guy in the hallway

The staff was helpful and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and also the hotel management was also very considerate of us. It has all the amenities you would expect of a high end hotel like super fluffy mattresses, excellent temperature control of the room and well kept bathroom.
We had to stay for around 10 days but never once we felt the need to switch to a different place rather it started to feel like a home away from home.
The staff and the management have left a lasting impression on us which is rarely a case with hotels.

I try to be diplomatic in my reviews, but it is difficult to find much that is positive to say about the Hotel Diplomat. The place is in desperate need of a revamp. In one of our rooms there was a very unpleasant smell in the bathroom, and the taps were broken, so we requested a change. One day there was no hot water, so they said we could get buckets of hot water from reception! Food not great. Staff were friendly though.

Location is excellent, centrally located at Chanakyapuri, close to RPBhavan, Parliament, Inida Gate, several embassies including USA, UK, Australia etc. Rooms are good and staff are very courteous. Food is bit expensive but they prepare it as per our taste.

I chose this hotel for a couple of night stay on 30th and 31st Dec 2022. I had a lot of baggage since we were flying international and were had also booked an extra bed in the room. The reason for choosing the property was that it is centrally located (and also within 30 mins of IGIA) and has really good size rooms as compared to other hotels in central Delhi. My only other option in this budget was to go and choose a hotel in Aerocity, which I did not prefer as it is a bit far away from central Delhi. Staff was very helpful and welcoming any time of the day (or night) and agreed to almost everything I I requested (including extra plates for food I ordered from outside).

Only and biggest problem I faced was the bathrooms and plumbing. The first room I was given was huge and had a good sized bathroom, but the drainage was very poor and hence it was almost flooded each time we took bath. The solution they came up with was that they will immediately come and clean it after each bath (yawn!!!), which to their credit they happily did... But then I realized that the toilet was leaking as well and next morning I requested a room change as that is not something they could fix immediately... They obliged and helped me move to the new room (which was slightly smaller than the first one). Funnily one of the bathroom hoses in that new room was also leaking and hence the floor was constantly wet. I complained again and this time they were able to replace the hose and fix the problem within 15 mins. Rest of the stay was good except for these plumbing issues.

The hotel restaurant is still not up and running fully after Covid lockdowns, and the room service is the only option (a bit limited). The bar and drinks service is also not available since they have reopened after Covid.

Terribly small and inconvenient bathrooms.
The advantage of the place is that its centrally located.
Besides too steep in pricing and not worth.
The washroom is crazy. Water flows out of the bathing cubicle.
So sad overall.

A charming older style hotel, well positioned in the diplomatic district and 10 minutes from Connaught Place. The garden provides a peaceful ambiance for sitting quietly and relaxing. A highlight is the excellent service from staff always willing to please. Don’t expect anything fancy from the hotel or it’s restaurant but a good choice nonetheless.

Hotel room was very comfortable and staff were very warm and helpful and kind.. food was delicious..location of the hotel was perfect ,central to all the shopping markets.. C.P.,South Extension,Rajouri Garden,INA market

Conveniently located, good rooms, polite staff & very homely stay. Breakfast spread is good although needs some more improvement is terms of offering variety. Otherwise everything is fine for this hotel.

The hotel wasn’t really friendly. Had not so great experience with my stay. Won’t even recommend someone visiting with family. Hotel staff isn’t very cooperative and not really helpful. I am not happy.

I had a over all good experience, stay, the service, staff.
with few observations
- I travelled during navratri and was fasting, hotel didnt had any options for fasting food
- hot water for bath was missing

Stay was comfortable and enjoyed the hospitality of the hotel.We where not disturbed by the hotel staff unnecessarily, complimentary breakfast was good but needs some improvement. Fruits and juices is the area where the improvement is required

The hotel is located in a pleasant locality with good facilities. The only downside is that there are no local shopping centers... Otherwise close to sightseeing places like India Gate, Connaught Place etc

Hotel is located in good locality .. close to consulate ... very clean and hygiene.. i loved the location and hotel with lots of greenery.. food was awesome.. being a travel agent i would really suggest all my customers Diplomat hotel..

everything up to the mark. Distance from airport , Total security ,Comfortable locality.
Also very nice garden. Well behaved staff. Overall homely atmosphere.24 houres electric and water supply. Just fill like home.
