University Park Inn & Suites, an Ascend Collection Hotel

BED BUGS! I was bitten by bed bugs while staying here. Room 105. I found the telltale tiny blood stains on the sheets that confirm bedbugs were the cause of the nasty bites on my leg that appeared overnight. The manager was unhelpful and refused to refund my money. I believe she deliberately avoided taking calls and answering emails from booking.com as a way to avoid refunding the money to them (and then to me) . I will never stay at this hotel again, nor will I ever use a third party service like booking .com to make a reservation. It made getting a refund nearly impossible

I was disappointed that there was no morning breakfast. Other similar and less expensive options in Davis did offer it

Lack of breakfast and gym room

Booking.com got my reservations mixed up. I reserved a two night stay at a hotel. I even got confirmation one night before.. When I got to the hotel they told me there was no reservations. They double-checked and found out that booking.com did make me the reservations but didn't communicate with the staff in the hotel. The hotel staff was very nice and try to accommodate me with at least one night but could not accommodate me for the second night because they were completely booked. We had to find another hotel to stay at. This is a inconvenience and I was very disappointed with how booking.com handled the reservations. I will be communicating to get a refund of the second night that I had already paid for. The staff at the hotel were nice. Booking.com is the one that messed up.

The room had a ton of mosquitos. My son had at least 10 bites by the end of the stay. The AC was only in the living area and did not cool the whole space. The toilet was leaking from the bowl. I notified the front desk in the morning and they just gave me towels to soak up the leak ourselves. She asked if I need it fixed right away or if I could wait until the afternoon because maintenance was not available yet (8am). She never informed maintenance and we had to request again with another staff member in the afternoon. They came quickly and said it was fixed but it began leaking again that evening.

Near railroad with train whistles periodically day and night

This is literally on the train tracks. 6am train horns in your brain. The rattling shakes your teeth. Oh, they give you a train lolly-pop and ear plugs with a card telling you how the hotel is loved by travelers who like trains. No one likes trains at 6am.

There are hotels in Booking.com who has awesome pictures on it but reality is more a disappointment and opposite. The first one is here definitely applied. It felt like an average motel 6. Bathroom and pool had a lot of hair everywhere.l it didn’t feel cleaned everywhere. They offered changing for electric car until I figured out we needed and adapted for a Tesla wall charger which they couldn’t find at the front desk and I had only an adapter for supercharger in my car.
