We would definitely stay here again. Came to Paris for a destination wedding and many of the guests stayed here. Location is a 10 in the heart of St Germaine. Bus and subway stop in front of the hotel. Orsay and Louvre down the street. Our room was so clean. The staff was so helpful and there is a little bar in the lobby that has free jazz several nights a week. Only thing I would do differently? We had a city street view on the third floor - it was lovely but next time I would splurge for a room view of the Eiffel!
Stayed one night in January in a junior suite on the 7th floor. The staff at check in were friendly and welcoming. The room was fantastic, with balcony views of the Eiffel Tower and a bottle of champagne waiting for us on arrival. The historic jazz bar in the evening was great. Breakfast I thought was expensive for what you get. However I would absolutely recommend staying here for a luxurious stay in Paris.
This was our fourth stat at HPR. Obviously we have had some great times here since we keep coming back. However, this was our last.
What’s great: The staff is incredibly friendly. This has always been the case. The location pretty much can’t be beat. The HPR is located left bank in a great area that makes nearly all of Paris accessible. Finally there is a great Monoprix across the street. This makes getting a snack or drink really easy.
What’s not great: The hotel is getting really run down. We were put into a lower room with broken tile, threadbare walls and furniture and honestly really needs an update. While the Monoprix across the street is great, the constant loading and unloading is awful. I don’t know why they put us in a lower room. Long story short, The overall experience is poor, especially compared to the price. So when my wife says it’s our last. That as they say is that.
This is my third stay at the Pont Royal and it never disappoints. I stayed this visit for 10 days. The staff at the hotel are outstanding, especially the
concierge and front desk staff. The room was spotless and very comfortable. Every need I had was attended to. The location is great for walking to the Musee D’Orsay and the Louvre. The view from my room included the Eiffel Tower and Ferris Wheel. Had a great stay!
Our stay at Hotel Pont Royal was nothing short of magical! My boyfriend and I came to Paris for our 30th birthdays—and it became an even more unforgettable celebration: our engagement! From the moment we arrived, the staff welcomed us with warm smiles, positivity, and genuine care.
Even without our families, we felt celebrated and cared for—the staff truly made us feel like part of their family. They were incredibly attentive, helping with everything from ordering taxis to offering the best recommendations for exploring Paris. The bar and drinks were beyond amazing, and the location couldn’t be better—walking distance to everything we wanted to see and do.
A special thank you to Terry, Lucie, Andre and Yeury Le for going above and beyond to make our stay so personal and unforgettable. Every detail, from their thoughtful service to their warm personalities, made our trip truly special.
Hotel Pont Royal is the place to be.
My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights to celebrate our 30th anniversary. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We used the concierge service several times to book taxis. Our room was great with a little balcony overlooking the Rue du Bac and we could see the top of the Eiffel Tower. We stopped at the cozy and romantic bar a couple of times for a nightcap. On Monday night the jazz trio was so good! We got there late but heard they had a wonderful female vocalist perform earlier. What a perfect location in a great neighborhood! There was a Mono Prix grocery right across from the hotel. Great place to buy cheese, wine, beer and snacks for your room.
Our travel agent recommended Hotel Pont Royale as it was in the location we were interested in and was told it was a 5 star hotel. We had come from Budapest and Prague and must say the hotels in those cities were less expensive and so much nicer. We found the rooms small, we had issues with the tub/shower which was addressed twice at the front desk and never fixed and found the breakfast to be on par with a Best Western Hotel. We had pastries all around Europe and these were like store bought with little taste. The staff for breakfast was less than stellar and unless we came down to breakfast early, much of the food was gone and little was replaced. The typical french attitude applied here as well. The front desk staff were friendly, but not particularly helpful. I would not stay here again.
We were expecting so much from this hotel!
Friends of ours recommended it after their stay in February 2025 because they had a blast. We were looking forward to fantastic and friendly staff and great service, but we only got average.
The rooms are getting really old. We had to wait forever to get our room cleaned and ended up with just a box of chocolates. Breakfast was always the same.
Overall, the experience was disappointing :(
Hotel Pont Royal provided an incredible stay in Paris. Our room was very comfortable, with plenty of storage and lighting, and a lovely view up Rue du Bac. The location is outstanding, and we walked nearly everywhere. There are plenty of restaurants and shops and a neighborhood environment in the 7th. Hotel service was very efficient and friendly, always offering a welcome and offer of assistance or advice. The advice of the Concierge Alexandra set this visit apart from many others to Paris. My daughter wanted to go inside Notre Dame, but we had not been able to get advance tickets- Alexandra suggested when to go, and we entered after only a 10-minute wait. Our next request was how to see the laser lighting on the Eiffel Tower- she told us exactly where to stand for the most spectacular view and photos. Even arranging departure, the front desk suggested a very accurate time-line for arriving at CDG and navigating the VAT refund lines. At every level, Hotel Pont Royal excelled.
We checked in today to our favorite hotel in Paris, Hotel Pont Royal. This is the second time staying here and absolutely love the suite and view of the Eiffel Tower. We were totally surprised to have a bottle of Champagne and flowers waiting for us in the room. The staff is very accommodating and we highly recommend it. Tonight going to their jazz session in their bar.
We checked in on October 9th and initially everyone was very attentive. Housekeeping has done a fantastic job with the room (the carpets are in terrible shape) The staff at breakfast does a fine job but the food is barely mediocre at best. The bartender/server are terrible. We have had to beg for drinks and are often ignored. We ordered a tequila and the bartender brought a glass with barely a sip in it and said that was all they had left so they would only charge us for half (which is ridiculous, but fine). Our bill came and we were charged for the full drink. We asked him to correct it and he said he doesn’t know how so he couldn’t. Keep in mind we have had to beg for service and our bill was well over 200 euros. I approached the front desk in the morning to explain what had occurred and she said i could come back at 3:30 to talk to the bartender who wouldn’t help us before. We have yet to find someone who cares we are having a terrible experience. I would absolutely NOT recommend this hotel!
The staff was beyond amazing. I cannot say enough good things about the team. Will stay here again.
Not only is Pont Royal a wonderful hotel, the location is terrific. Most city destinations are walkable and Paris is a walking city.
All the staff is friendly and accommodating.
Nice room with a view! Breakfast was nice, and the bar was fun. However, room was tough to cool down, the hallway on our floor was over-heated, and the shower allowed water to go everywhere.
5 nights in Room 604, Eiffel Tower view with balcony.
I would stay again, definitely not in this room. “Balcony” is aspirational at best — it simply is too tiny to use. Perhaps the 7th floor balconies are larger. Based on this room, the investment in ET view is definitely not worth it. 5 nights was regrettable. Make sure your view room actually has a view of other than rooftops.
Hotel staff — front desk, concierge, breakfast and bar are uniformly helpful, kind, engaging. A real delight.
Location - we found it very convenient, safe, easy to navigate.
This is definitely a top tier property. The small balcony with table and chairs overlook the Eiffel Tower to the left and the Louvre to the right. The room was gorgeous. The staff were extremely professional and they know all guests by name. The area is beautiful, surrounded by restaurants and small shops. Short walks to the Louvre, Musee D’Orsay and Rodin. Its worth every penny!
Charming hotel
Wonderful helpful staff Great breakfast
Only issue was shower stall water would come out as there was only a half partition
Fabulous comfortable and quietly intimate hotel. We absolutely loved our stay there.
While well- located, there are many better hotels in Paris. The attitude of the staff is poor, the rooms can be very noisy and the public spaces are lacking. Decor is dated, breakfast room is unappealing, bar is too small. Not a 5- star experience.
